Lina Not Luna

“Do you believe that Omega?”

Ehann was whipping an omelet in the kitchen of Eon’s penthouse. He was cooking for him even when he didn't want to because Eon hates other people inside his private place. It was just him that was allowed to step foot inside the fourth floor of Luna - the building not the bar.

The five-story building was called Luna by Eon even when it was just the bar that was registered as Luna.

Ehann was being mocked by the others as Eon’s nanny, and not his Beta—with the things that Eon needed him to do for him. And one of them was to cook him breakfast, every time he had a hangover.

“Doesn’t matter if I believe him or not. I’m keeping him because I have a feeling we will need him. How is he by the way?” He walked to the marble kitchen island, his black silk robe was flapping as he walked barefoot on the marble floor.

He was wearing a black boxer, a robe, and nothing more. His chiseled body glistened under the fluorescent lamp of the kitchen.

He leaned against the counter after pouring himself a cup of black coffee. He was waiting for Ehann’s answer and for his breakfast.

"He was still asleep in the sleeping quarter. He already met all of the guys down there since he has been just sleeping after you talk to him.”

“Let him be.”

“Eon, don’t you think you’re being too lenient with an outsider?” He couldn’t help but ask. Eon was never like this with a stranger.

“Leave once you’re done cooking,” he said, refusing to answer Ehann’s question. He left the kitchen and made his way back to his bedroom. He stripped his robe and his boxer and he was stark naked even before he reached his bedroom.

Ehann, who finished cooking, removed his apron and left the kitchen. He left Eon’s breakfast on the kitchen counter.

He was about to take the elevator down to the second floor when he caught a glimpse of Eon’s clothes in the hallway to his bedroom. He gritted his teeth and heaved a deep sigh. He turned back and picked up Eon’s clothes and brought them to the laundry room, and threw them in the laundry basket.

He was standing in the doorway of the laundry room, staring at the laundry basket, spilling with dirty laundry.

He sighed and stepped inside the room, and threw everything in the wash. Good thing Eon only wears black clothes. He poured some detergent on it and started the machine. He could just drop by after his shift to fold his damn clothes.

Now, he accepted what the others were calling him. He was acting like Eon’s damn nanny. He must talk to him soon!

His plan to talk to Eon didn’t happen because it was Friday night and their patrons pile out in Luna. Everyone was busy keeping the tight security of the place. He had no idea what Eon was thinking of tightening the club’s security.

But no one dares to question Eon’s decision. They simply follow. Even when the lowlife Omega sat down with Eon on the couch of the third-floor VIP lounge of the club. They all gritted their teeth and snarled quietly as they threw Frio - the new guy- dagger looks throughout the night.

“Are you sure she’s coming?” he asked the third time in a row.

Frio scanned the dance floor below and noticed that some of Eon's men were giving him a secretive look—one that didn't look friendly. Slowly, his gaze landed on the hanging box where women were grinding their bodies to the beat of the DJ.

“I never told you she’ll come. I just said that she likes this kind of crowd,” he leaned back against the backrest of the leather couch, wishing the cushion could swallow him, for he saw Ehann - Eon’s Beta, approaching them.

Ehann stood next to Eon’s shoulder and didn't acknowledge Frio who was sitting next to Eon, drinking some expensive bourbon. He quietly handed a tablet to Eon, and whispered in his ear, “Here’s the photo of all the women inside the club and those who were still in the queue outside.”

Eon accepted the tablet that Ehann handed him and gave him a small nod. Ehann understood clearly that he was being dismissed. He gave Frio a quick look and their eyes accidentally met. Frio averted his eyes first.

“Ehann,” he called his Beta before he could leave.

Ehann stood still, waiting for Eon’s command.

“Tell our men to do their job and not waste their time scrutinizing my choice of company.”

Ehann nodded once but a shiver ran down his spine. He knew the tone Eon was using. When he said men, it included him—particularly him. Because his reaction as Eon’s Beta and right-hand man was being mirrored by others.

“I’m sorry. I would make sure it was clear.” He bowed down and stepped away before Eon could open his mouth and reprimand him more. But he was still within earshot when he heard Frio say, “It’s her!”

He was expecting Eon to call him back but he didn’t. A crease formed between his brows as he straightened his back and scanned the crowd. He wondered which of all these women was the She-wolf that Frio was using to monopolize Eon’s attention.

Meanwhile, Eon grabbed the tablet from Frio’s hand and looked at the photo of the woman they were searching for. He looked at the tablet screen and scoffed. ‘She ain’t pretty. Too ordinary.’

“She is inside those hanging boxes of yours,” he said, staring at the familiar woman who he has been searching for.

Eon followed the line of sight of Frio and saw the woman that was on the tablet screen. Seeing that she has access to the VIP lounge, he wondered who invited her here tonight. They have already stopped giving special VIP membership since last year.

To have access to all the privileges for VIP members, one must be invited. And this girl named Luna is a new face. He’s sure that someone invited her.

[“Ehann, find out who invited the woman in box number five.”]

While he waited for Ehann to do what he asked for, he returned his gaze to the tablet where a close-up photo of the girl was being displayed. The photo was taken from the security camera on the third-floor entrance.

[“Eon the girl was a guest of Mr. Fennick.”]

[“Invite him here. Make sure to tell him to bring his guests.”]

Eon didn’t wait long for Fennick to appear with three women, two were hanging on his arms. But his eyes were on the girl who was walking behind Fennick. The woman downed a glass of champagne from the passing waiter but didn’t let the waiter go right after, she grabbed another glass before she followed Fennick who was already sitting on the couch across from him.

“Eon, it’s a pleasure to meet you. Let me introduce you to Charity, Chastity, and —”

“Let me guess, Celibacy?” He smirked as he gave the woman a look over.

Fennick threw his head and roared, “Oh, no man! That would be too cool. But her name is Lina.” He waved his hand and pointed to the space next to Eon for her to sit down.

Lina scoffed and took her time to sit next to the bastard who called her Celibacy. When she finally sat down next to him, the first thing she noticed was he was using the same cologne as her ex. Her nose scrunched up in disgust and leaned towards him. “It’s Chance, by the way,” she whispered over his shoulder.

Eon’s head snapped to the girl whose name wasn’t Luna but Lina. Her face was right next to him, he could smell her breath. It smelled like fresh air tinted with alcohol. “Chance?”

She smiled, nodding. “Yes, Chance. As in you don’t have a chance.”

Eon’s nose flared in rage with the woman’s taunting. [“The nerve of this unturned She-wolf!”]

The wolves inside the building shuddered in fear when their wolves heard the rage of Eon’s wolf over a woman named Lina.
