Destination On The Way

After a relaxing few hours at the pier, we begrudgingly left to continue as much of our journey as we could in the daylight we had left. I figured we would still have a few days’ worth of travel, but with how quiet Hafgan had been, I wasn’t sure if things would continue to progress so smoothly.

I decided I was going to monitor Max while in the air, to make sure nothing happened to him. If Hafgan took over without me noticing, then he would try to sneak away. I did not trust that soul one bit.

It was a good thing I had done so. As I had expected, Hafgan tried to sneak off several times, but each time I stopped him from getting out of my sight. Without the ability to transform, he was powerless to stop me from following his every move and cutting him off.

I stared at him, knowing full well that anyone who saw us might think the worst of me if I acted too harshly towards him. We were not in a vastly populated area, but there were enough humans around to make me think twice.
