“So how did you know him?” Chester asked Tia as he drove her to the station. Break time was over and he knew that she would have to get back to work although he really wished that she could spend the whole day with him.
“Huh? Who?” She faced him.
He glanced at her from the corner of his eyes, he really did not know how to ask this without it sounding odd. She could mistake it for him being jealous and maybe he was but what was there to be jealous of? “The Michael guy earlier, how did you know him?”
“Oh, him.” She smiled and looked ahead. “I met him at Skyline club, he was kind of like my saviour at the time.”
Chester looked confused. “Your saviour? How?”
“Well, there was this guy who was half drunk and would not stop bugging me. I was almost ready to give him a punch right across the jaw to dislocate it but Michael stepped in at the right time and prevented that from happening.”
Wednesday, the 11th of May.09:11am.It was much too early to be on a stake out and why did it have to be her? She munched away angrily at the bag of corn chips she held in her hand and whining about how it lacked the flavoured taste it once had when the product had first been launched. This morning was cold and chilly and just too quiet, nothing happened around here and the officer she was with assured her that it was just this neighbourhood, it was kind of like a dead zone. No life. They sat in the warm car a well hidden distance from the Neil’s house, they were to keep an eye out for Trisha, to monitor her movements and maybe bait the serial killer. That part Tia did not really take down comfortably, the part of using Trisha as bait, but then Aiden had assured her that she would not come to any harm as long as they had her in their sights. The officer seated in the driver’s seat beside her yawned and she wondered if he had gotten any
Wednesday, the 11th of May.10:30am.Sometimes it takes a little sacrifice to get what you want and he knew that he would eventually get just what he had been waiting for all night and even up to this morning. He yawned and stretched, he had not slept a wink last night and his back was all cramped up, he could feel that his bottom was now numb and his legs could use a good walk but he could not leave. Hr could not step out from the car now and risk being seen.He squeezed his eyes shut and opened them, blinking rapidly to clear his vision. He checked the time on his dash board, the girl was late already, how difficult was it to leave the house any way? He focused on the house and although he was parked so far away to avoid being detected, most especially by the police men who sat in their car so close to the house, he could see clearly without the help of a binocular. He watched the windows and the doors, waiting for her to sneak out of the house but still
Wednesday, the 11th of May. 12:54pm. “He is one hot man, is he not?” Tia heard from behind her and turned to see Blair smirking at her. ”What? Who?” She was momentarily confused. Blair nodded her head in the direction that the car had driven off from. “I am talking about him, the man you were so engrossed in.” It hit Tia and she chuckled, shaking her head. “Oh that? No, no, he just looked familiar somehow.” “Hmm…” Blair replied and Tia knew that she did not believe her one bit. She sighed and nodded, she had not come all the way here to argue with a love lost woman who was having a crush on one of her bosses. “He is the first son of the Hunt, you know?” Blair said and Tia raised her eye brows in mild surprise. “Really?” “Yeah, he was on the news at that time, he returned not so long ago and ugh…! is he not the dreamiest?” Tia forced a smile and nodded. “Hmm… yes.” Focus. “Blair I actually came here
Wednesday, the 11th of May. 07:12pm. She was done with work for today and she was as tired as tired could be, all she could imagine right now was some warm food and her really soft bed and a really long night with the best sleep she would have in a while. Aiden had left much earlier, said he had some important things to deal with and she had just nodded when he told her. The day was still some how bright when she stepped out of the building but the thunder that rumbled in the distance assured her that the dark clouds would soon be rolling in, it would rain tonight and she would be wrapped up and warm in bed. She sighed excitedly as she imagined the scenario, her smiling face as she slept, she could not wait to get home. As she descended the few flight of stairs in front of the building, she spotted Chester leaning on the side of his car, his arms crossed and his head down, on a closer look she noticed that his eyes were closed but his head nodded slowly
Thursday, the 12th of May.08:33am.The sun light filtered in through the closed windows, striking Chester in the face and causing him to wake up, he grunted and tried to roll over but his hand was trapped and something beside him stirred, he opened his eyes with a frown on his face to see that he was beside a still sleeping woman and everything came to him. He smiled, he was not used to waking up with someone beside him and so close to him too but he was happy that this was not a dream, he was sure he had dreamt of her all through the night. She had her back pressed to him and he could almost feel her skin through the thin shirt she still had on. She barely had on. The shirt had dropped around her shoulder and lower down her arm, exposing her neck, shoulder and a little of her back, he could not stop staring.“How could I have gotten you?” He asked himself but spoke out loud in a soft voice. He watched her body rise and fall as she brea
Thursday, the 12th of May.11:01 amShe had over slept and she knew that she had but this was one of those mornings in which she really never wanted to get out of bed, most especially right now because she felt safe, secured and loved in the arms of Chester whose hot breath fanned the back of her neck. His breathing was steady and gentle and she knew that he was still fast asleep, she wanted to turn around to look at his sleeping face because she had slept with her back to him and him spooning her, but she did not want to wake him up so she just remained like that, a big grin on her face which she tried to hide by pulling the covers up over her face. His arm around her waist twitched a little and he took in a really deep breath, his heaving chest pushing against her back before settling down and into the normal rhythm of his steady breathing. Her hands moved, tracing over his which was around her waist, she traced her fingers down to his and clasped them togethe
Friday, the 13thof May.12:22amNight time was always fun because it was as mysterious as it was thrilling, you just never could tell what night pop out of the corner but tonight, he knew what would be popping out of the corner; he was, bringing with him yet another victim, another body for the police to find, only that this time, she was still alive so he could not yet refer to her as a body. He chuckled as he drove quietly and slowly crawling the car along the road. He needed to do this as quietly as he possibly could, he had enough time on his hands to do this and he knew. The girl was tied up in the back seat and she did not struggle, he glanced at her through the rear view mirror and he could smell the fear in her eyes; he loved that, he looked ahead and continued driving. He had chosen Wagner park this time, it was closer to Skyline clubs than all the other parks were and so he had a good feeling about this one. He tried to imagine how the scen
Friday, the 13th of May 04:06am. The CCTV footage had come to them even earlier than they had thought that it would and Tia could not be any happier, it was the CCTV footage from Wagner park, the particular footage showing the entrance of the park where they had seen the tire marks and the police men had said that they had seen Trisha come in from that direction. Tia’s heart was in her throat as she watched the footage, she was so jittery that she could not sit, so she stood behind Aiden, her eyes wide open and her eye brows furrowed in a slight frown, focusing intently on what played on the screen. A black car had pulled up by the entrance to the park and entered only to stop still close to the entrance, a man got down from the driver’s side of the car, his face shielded by the mask he wore. Tia frowned even deeper but kept on watching. He went around the car to the other side and opened the passengers’ side door and got in, they were unable to see or
