LOGINOn the night of her mating ceremony, Aria’s world collapses when her fated mate, the future Alpha, rejects her before the entire pack and chooses her stepsister instead. In a single moment, she loses her mate, her family, and her place in the pack, becoming a public disgrace overnight. Homeless and humiliated, Aria expects nothing but survival. Instead, she crosses paths with Aurelia, the young daughter of Kael Blackwood, the most feared Alpha in the territory and uncle to the man who rejected her. Kael is cold, powerful, and untouchable. A man even Alphas avoid. When Aurelia refuses to let Aria go, Kael reluctantly allows her into his household. But what begins as shelter quickly turns into scandal as rumors spread: why is a rejected Omega living under the protection of the strongest Alpha? As pressure builds from the pack and political enemies begin to circle, Aria is pulled into Kael’s world in ways she never intended. To protect his reputation, and hers, the situation escalates into a political marriage neither of them expected. But living under Kael’s roof changes everything. Aria rises from a discarded Omega into a woman who begins to challenge the very structure of the pack, while Kael finds himself drawn to her in ways he refuses to acknowledge. At the same time, the mate who rejected her begins to realize the weight of his mistake and wants her back. Now Aria is caught between a past that broke her, and a future tied to the most dangerous Alpha in the territory. And this time, fate may not be the only thing deciding her choice.
View More"It's time" my newly found friend Mira informed me. I've waited for this night for so long, I've been on a strict diet, having to eat those very tasteless meals.
I carefully stood up, so as not to ruin my pretty white dress, specially selected for this night, everything I was putting on was carefully and specially selected. Vera my stepmom even lended me her blue necklace, something I'm still so shocked about, she said it's for good luck, that I'll be needing all the luck I can get today. I had no idea she cared about me, she had never for once shown it. Well I won't blame her, even if she's only pretending, because after tonight my fate will change, she'll definitely try to be on my good side. Mira helped me hold my dress, as we started walking towards the ceremony hall. I was feeling so nervous, I had only met Lucas once, and we hadn't really had any proper interaction, but I had a crush on him for the longest time before our meeting. As the future Alpha, Lucas was well known, plus his extremely handsome face. I'm so lucky to be his mate, and this ceremony will make it official. As Mira and I got to the ceremony hall, the door was opened for us. I stepped inside, the hall was filled up, with people from various parts of the society, the rich poor all of them. Waiting to see their future Luna, me. I saw Lucas standing at the front of the hall, looking so handsome. Then I saw my stepmom Vera and her daughter Manda, sitting at the front roll, with big smiles on their faces. That's really suspicious, I didn't expect them to be so happy for me. Especially Manda, I didn't even expect her to attend the ceremony, she already said she wouldn't. I didn't have the time to think about them, and what their smiles could me. Today was just about me. I placed a huge smile on my face and started walking towards the front row, towards Lucas. Mira had gone to take her sit. When I got to him, he didn't even look at me. I assumed he was tense, or lost in thought. I tried to say something to him. " Hi Lucas, you look so handsome as usual, I'm really excited to be doing this with you". He didn't respond, just turned and stared at me for a few minutes, then looked away. It was time for the announcement, I placed my hand on his, and he roughly pushed my hands away. He started speaking, " Good evening everyone, we all know the reason for this ceremony. I'll be announcing my future Luna today'. I smiled even more, expecting to hear my name, until he said. " The most beautiful girl and wolf I've ever laid my eyes on, Manda". My smile dropped, I think I didn't hear him well. " Lucas, my name is Aria" I said, thinking he was mistaken about my name. He didn't reply me, he was busily staring at Manda, who had started making her way to where we were, with a huge smile. I was shocked, I couldn't understand what was happening, everyone was equally confused, except Vera and Mira who were smiling at Manda. Mira my newly found friend, she had been of such more help to me this past few months. Manda came up to the stage, and Lucas kissed her, before my eyes, she turned and winked at me. " Lucas, what is going on" I screamed, I couldn't hold it any longer. " I'm announcing my mate, he said smuggly. " But I'm your mate, not her" I said, feeling faint. "Not anymore" he said. "I Lucas reject you Aria as my mate" he said. At this point everyone had understood what was happening, and I could see so many people were happy to see me humiliated in such manner. " I Aria accept your rejection", I said with tears streaming down my eyes. I turned to Manda, "How could you do this to me, why did you do this"? I asked, grabbing her dress. Lucas pushed me off her, and I fell down on the chocolate fountain by the side, my white gown fully ruined, just like my life. " How did you think, someone like you could be future Luna" Manda shouted. "A nobody rejected by her own father, that has been leaching off my mom and I" she said. She was lying, my dad left but he left a lot of things for me. The house, money everything I needed to be comfortable. Vera made me sign it all to her, she had promised to help me find my mum if I did. And I stupidly signed everything I had to her, and have had to leave under her mercy. "Lucas can never choose you when I am here, he can never" she added with so much satisfaction on her face. Vera came up to me, and dragged the necklace from my neck, " No amount of luck can be enough for you, you'll always be beneath us" she said. Eyeing me with so much disgust. "Take this filth away from here this instant" Lucas said. Immediately a group of well built men walked up to me, I rushed forward to beg Lucas. "Please don't do this to me, what did I do to deserve this" he shoved me aside. I fell down and hit my face, I could feel taste blood in mouth. Manda started laughing, Vera joined and immediately everyone in the hall joined in. I was roughly pulled up, by one of the men, the started dragging me outside. " Don't you bother coming back to the house, you're forbidden from returning" Vera said, " Henceforth you'll find another place to live in. I couldn't even properly hear her, my ears were ringing. Through blurry eyes I sighted Mira, I tried to call out to her, but she immediately looked away.I headed back to the Blackwood Estate, exhausted and discouraged. The sun was already beginning to set, painting the sky in shades of orange and gold. I hadn't found a place. Not a single one. Everywhere I went, doors seemed to close the moment people recognized my name. I wrapped my arms around myself. Staying at the estate was becoming a problem, but leaving seemed impossible. And after the conversations I had overheard in town, I couldn't afford to stay much longer. People were already talking. I couldn't let them think Alpha Kael was keeping me. The thought alone made my stomach twist. As I approached the gates, one of the guards immediately straightened. Relief flashed across his face. "Thank the Moon Goddess you're back, Miss Aria." I frowned. "What happened?" The guard shifted awkwardly. "Alpha Kael was considering sending wolves to look for you." I blinked. A search party? Surely that was unnecessary. Unless... "Aurelia?" I asked.
I left the estate, it was a bit difficult getting to town on foot, but I didn't regret refusing Kael's offer to use one of the estate vehicles. I didn't want to depend on him. Depending on people was never a good thing. People always left eventually. I had learned that lesson the hard way. Once I got to town, I immediately began my search for a place to stay. I didn't have much money, but I hoped I could make a partial payment until I found a job. Surely someone would be willing to give me a chance. As I walked through the streets, I found myself observing everything around me. People moved about their daily lives. Shopkeepers opened their stores. Children ran through the streets, laughing and chasing one another. Everything looked normal. As though my entire world hadn't collapsed yesterday. As though I hadn't been publicly rejected before the entire pack. As though my own family hadn't thrown me away. I swallowed hard and forced myself to keep walking
The next morning, I woke up with a sense of purpose. For the first time since the ceremony, I had a plan. It wasn't much of one, but it was enough. I was going to find somewhere else to stay. The room Agatha had given me was comfortable. Too comfortable. The soft mattress, the warm blankets, the expensive furniture, I could get used to all of it if I wasn't careful. And that was exactly the problem. This wasn't my home. No matter how kind Aurelia had been. No matter how generous Alpha Kael was being. Sooner or later, I would have to leave. The sooner I accepted that, the better. After getting dressed, I made my way downstairs. The smell of breakfast drifted through the hallways. As I entered the dining room, Aurelia's face lit up. "Aria!" She abandoned all interest in the food in front of her and practically bounced in her seat. I couldn't help smiling. "Good morning, Aurelia." I said. "Good morning, Alpha Kael." He gave a brief nod. "Come sit b
I stepped into the bathroom, and washed away the whole stress of the day. My mind wandered back to Lucas, I couldn't help it. We would have completed the ceremony now, and gone to his chambers. I won't have had to be alone. My face darkened, imagining him with Manda. I was feeling uneasy, I'm sure they're together. The betrayal of Mira came back to me, she made me bring down my guard. I should have been more careful. The signs were there, how she kept fishing for information from me, the one time I caught her going through my things. I should have asked her to explain, than to just accept the flimsy excuse she gave. Well the deed has already been done. I'll have to move on. I showered and stepped out, I went to the wardrobe and selected a flowery gown that looked comfortable. I let my hair down, and stepped out of my new room. Agatha had told me that Aurelia's room was a few doors away from mine, I went to look for her. It wasn't difficult locating her room. The door was
