Chapter 13

My eyes were glued to the window of Miss Gina's car, watching the trees dance to the rhythm of the wind.

"Hey. So what were you doing back there?" Miss Gina asked and I tilted my head to get a better view of her face.

She was a red headed lady with blue eyes shaped like almond. She had a round face with small light pink lips that were beautified by a colorless lip gloss.

She lived next door with her adopted five year old named Chloe. Why adopt a kid at her young age? Beats me.

"I went to see the lake," I said innocently. She took a quick glance at with one squinted eye before focusing on the road.

"Are you sure you are okay? You look like you saw a ghost back there." She made a turn for our street.

"I'm fine miss Gina, just a headache."

"Awn, sorry sweetie."

We stopped in front of her house. "Here we are!" She beamed with a hearty smile.
