19 - Off assumptions

Naya was in the middle of changing her clothes given by Edith. The bubbly servant said Prince Lorenzo would come in an hour and pushed Naya to prepare. Naya’s body was recovering and she knew she would need more nutrients if she needed to fight her way out of this pack.

She had a mission to fulfill. Time was running and she couldn’t waste time anymore.

“I know we only met recently but I could tell you’re not as they say you are,” Edith said while combing Naya’s hair. She smiled and placed a flower behind Naya’s ear. “Look, you’re so pretty! I knew it. You’re not suited to be a slave or a servant. Now I can see why Prince Lorenzo treats you with so much care. Anyone who has good vision will appreciate your beauty.”

Naya glanced down. She had never worn such clothes before. But what Edith was saying was utter gibberish. Naya stared at the maid and thought: How could she trust Naya so easily? She could tell Naya wasn’t as they say.
