It was already morning when we got back from the province. The first thing we did was drop George and Scarlett off at George’s condo.
Nick and I were left alone in the car. I decided to turn on my phone, it had been off for almost three days. I just wanted a peaceful and happy vacation without distractions.
But the moment my phone powered on, messages and missed calls flooded in. My hands turned cold and my face lost color when I read the texts from my sister Andrea and my secretary.
“Are you okay, Love?” Nick asked, noticing the change in my expression.
“There’s been an incident at the company… since Friday,” I answered, my voice shaking.
