Chapter 2

Ella.

" What do you mean by I should kill someone?'' I screamed but she only fiddled with her nails.

"It's not like it's a hard job, you will benefit from it, I know you can tame him and the cold-hearted man will fall in love with you then I will be able to exact my revenge on him,'' she muttered as she laughed silently to herself.

"I think I need to take my leave now, and I don't even need your fucking job I screamed as I stormed out of her way."

On getting to the house, Dad was already back from the hospital with Grandma, he looked so tired and sick that I dropped my bag and rushed over to where he was.

"Dad you're so fragile now, you need to get used to your walking stick before we get money for your surgery'' I whispered, his hands were on my neck as I tried to make him sit down on the cushion with my support.

"Ella I know you're trying your best but I don't want you to over-stressed yourself about everything happening now,'' he said as he pecked my forehead.

"Dad I will make sure you get the treatment you need and everything will be fine I said as tears rolled down my cheeks."

"You don't have to cry, Ella. I know you're trying to make everything work out well and soon, we're going to be good. Your mom told us at the hospital that you've gotten a white-collar job at a very good company,'' he muttered as he smiled so happily at me.

"Yes, I have gotten the job and am so happy about it I lied. 

"Dad, I think I need to get some groceries at the mall," I whispered before I broke down in front of him.

"Don't stay long out there you know it's kinda dangerous he whispered, I will be right back I said as I took my sweater and muffler.

Cold chills ran down my spine as I walked through the Alleyway streets. I felt as if someone was trailing me but when I looked back I didn't see anyone.

The cool breeze of the night makes my skin cold. I didn't want to get myself into any trouble. That's why I declined the offer. I should have known that something was fishing when they called me but I was blinded by my ambition.

As I walk closer to the house, the groceries I brought from the mall fell from my hand. Our house was in total darkness. My heart raced faster. 

I dropped everything on the floor, and fasten my pace to the house. The door was opened widely and everywhere was dark.

"Mom! Dad! Granny! I yelled getting inside the house, I turned on the light but what I saw shocked the hell out of me, everything was scattered, the table was turned upside down, and dad stick was there but I didn't see anyone. No! This can't be happening to me I shrieked as I hold my head. I didn't take my phone along with me. I took out my phone and unlock it, a video was sent to me and I clicked on it.

" I wasn't expecting what I saw, my mom and everyone were tied blindfolded and were on their faces, and blood was coming out of my mom's nose, no this can't be happening to me again, the phone fell on the ground likewise did I it's felt as if the world was against my family. My phone beeped and it was a message from an unknown number.

    "If you don't want your family to be killed, you have to do as I say. I didn't want to go this far in hiring you to do the job but I see you're the perfect girl I need for the plan. If you want your father to get the surgery you must abide by the rules. You're to come to the location am sending you tomorrow, and if you exceed the time given to you I promised I will hurt your mom, and the last thing your parents will be in my custody until you did absolutely everything I asked of you then you will have the chance to see them, see you at the place tomorrow."

Why did she choose me out of all the people on earth why I yelled as tears rolled down my cheeks. I promised her I am going to make her regret 

this but first I must save my parents by agreeing to whatever she says.

The horning of a car woke me up. I slept off last night and have forgotten a new phase of my life is about to start. I know this won't be easy but I will fight to the end and save my family.

I quickly rushed to my room, changed my clothes to a black gown, and packed my hair in a messy bun.

"I'm sorry for keeping you waiting,'' I muttered to the driver, but he was only quiet. He looked so scary and intimidating. The back seat was open for me and he asked me to sit at the back. I did as he told me.

He closed the door, and went back to the driver's seat, our eyes met and it sent cold chills down my spine.

I dozed off, opening my eyelids the car stopped at a very big mansion. I was in awe! The mansion was beautiful and sparkling clean, the flowers there were blossoming, and everything about the house seemed beautiful and smelled of wealth. 

He opened the door and ushered me in. I was speechless after entering, the decorations of the house felt like I was in heaven. The dangling light shone brightly. I shouldn't be lost in admiring things here I need to think about my parents and not the things here. I can't let what she's saying intimidate me I have to find out things myself.
