Chapter 1 The Hayseed Chooses Her Fiancé

Jefferson City was in an uproar due to one shocking headline. The affluent Warren family, who had arranged a marriage for their sons years ago, had revealed that the bride-to-be was a country girl.

Adding more fuel to the fire, the Warrens—a family with five exceedingly handsome and outstanding sons—allowed the country girl to choose any of the five sons as her fiancé.

The news shocked everyone, and before long, the media unearthed a picture of the woman. In the photo, she was chubby and had a dark complexion, looking like a typical country bumpkin. Netizens ridiculed her, claiming she was unworthy of the Warren boys.

Meanwhile, in a run-down small town about a hundred kilometers away from Jefferson City, three luxury cars pulled up to the front of a modest, self-built house. Out of those cars stepped five incredibly handsome men, creating quite the spectacle.

As soon as he exited the car, the youngest, Marcus Warren, voiced his disdain. "I think I'm going to be sick. This place is hot and filthy."

Yerick Warren, the fourth son, also voiced his dissatisfaction. "Indeed, I can't believe our father would let a hayseed choose one of us as her fiancé and even require us to pick her up and bring her to Jefferson City."

The brothers looked disgruntled. They would not have gone there if it were not for their father, Stephen Warren, who threatened to stop taking his high blood pressure medication if they refused.

"Enough, let's knock on the door," said the eldest, Xoan Warren. His handsome face also showed a hint of displeasure.

Marcus stepped forward, and after a few minutes, the door slowly opened. The woman standing in front of Marcus left him dumbfounded. She was refined and fair-skinned, with waves of hair cascading down to her neck. Her simple white t-shirt exuded an air of elegance.

"Hello... We're looking for Yaslyn Lyon. Is she here?"

"I'm Yaslyn," she replied, her almond-shaped eyes looking over the group before she nonchalantly said, "Wait a moment. I'll get my luggage."

Once she turned to leave, the brothers were taken aback. "What the hell? Yaslyn looks nothing like the picture Dad showed us!"

Stephen had shown them an old photo of Yaslyn from when she was in her teens, and they had not expected such a drastic transformation in just a few years.

"Do you like her? Do you want her to choose you as her fiancé?" teased Sheldon Warren—the second-eldest.

Marcus spun around and said, "No way! What's the use of being pretty? She's still a hayseed!"

"Is that so? Don't worry. I wouldn't be interested in a brat like you who hasn't fully grown up either."

A cold female voice came from behind them. Ignoring the sour look on Marcus' face, Yaslyn picked up her luggage and headed straight to the car.
