10. Mission can wait

“I said let me be. I want to see my father.” Little Clara cried as the maids carried her away. Her long jet black hair flipped as she turned her head trying to squeeze herself from their grasps, giving it an impression of a golden hue. Actually, it wasn’t an impression at all, it seemed as if her jet black hair was becoming golden.

“Did her hair just turn golden or my eyes deceive me?” Violet asked. She was certain there was some golden transformation of the child’s hair.

“Just your eyes deceiving, Milady. The child has shiny black hair, similar to her dad’s own and so it tends to give you impressions whereas it is not the case.”

“But I must say Milady, Clara is a difficult child.” Marys stated. Violet just looked at the corridor even as they couldn’t see Clara nor the maids that struggled to carry her.
