02. We are home!

DViolet and Ramon walked in the courtroom with their friends and family. Ramon helped Violet hold her heavy gown as they entered the courtroom, but Violet couldn’t care any less. She didn’t see any problem in a husband holding up his wife’s gown as they walk around. In fact, it was his duty to always make sure she was comfortable – based on her thoughts.

First, she had to sign the documents of marriage and then follow her husband to her new home. Then she will see on how to make sure she gets to interact with Connor, Ramon’s brother. She looked in his direction and saw his face that was partly covered just as Ramon’s own. The yellow medium length hair was styled and passed to the front where it had to cover his left eye.

She smiled inwardly and began praising his good looks from within. Connor Frdling was the man she wanted and not his brother. But then, she was patiently waiting for the right time, she believed from the very first day she ran into him that they both shared some connection and no matter what, their fates were going to intertwine real very soon.

“Now that it is sealed and settled. It’s time for the exchange of gifts.” Her mother said joyfully and brought out a huge parceled gift. It was in their family custom to exchange gifts with the families of their in laws. That said, they had to exchange gifts with Violet’s new family as per their family traditions.

The Fridlings smiled broadly as they gave their own gifts to Violet’s family as were the Heatherways. Violet flashed a broad smile as Connor’s eyes met hers but his quick change of focus, made her sad.

“No Violet. You are cold, you won’t let a man make you vulnerable.” She thought to herself.

“But then, he ignored me.” She cried in her thoughts in total contradiction to what she had first thought about.

Soon, everything was done, and they were set to go home. Violet’s mom displayed great affection as she began to cry profusely, holding on tight to Violet, not willing to let go. Even as her husband, Violet’s dad tried to separate the mother – daughter moment, she still held on tight to Violet that Violet began to choke.

Violet pushed her mom away from her body with a little rigor and then smiled to her mom.

“Goodbye mom.” She said and walked away, followed by Ramon and Connor. She felt an extreme pang of sadness and pain in her heart. She didn’t understand the feeling, but it was a real heavy one on her chest and the earlier she withdrew from her mom, the better. Her dad only looked at her with the expressions that already told her about what he had in mind.

Just like that, as if they had communicated through telepathy, she nodded a simple nod to her father and went away. That was it, Violet was now a married woman, who would be missed by a few of their house staff and not missed by the majority of her staff.

Violet wasn’t friendly to them but she was not also rude to them. Yet, none of them could deny the fact that Violet could be mean to them, anyhow hey will run away from her once they notice her facial expressions.

Violet and the Fridlings all entered their various vehicles and drove away to her new home. Violet sat in a blue Chevrolet with Ramon sitting beside her in the back seat and Connor sitting at the front seat with the driver of their car. Ramon’s parents were in another car that was ahead of theirs. The wedding wasn’t really that much of a big party. It sure had some uninvited guest but many of the guests there were invited and they were there just to confirm suspicions and also to criticize, even though many others were happy for the couple.

Despite people cheering the couple, they seemed to be in a silence battle as they all sat in the car, saying not a word to each other. The car was pretty much tensed and it wasn’t a good start for a marriage. Ramon on the other end was busy with his phone while Violet in her corner was hoping to say a word to Connor.

‘How can they be this calm and quiet?’ she thought. ‘I thought the Fridlings were a bunch of noisy humans… according to what I was told.’ She thought again and looked at Ramon. His Jet Black hair fell to the shoulder and a part covered his face, his left eye. His striking fairness was toned by the dark hair and the dress he was putting on. Her eyes roamed around him, studying his physique, his facial expression and what he was doing. She was a little amazed at the way Ramon stayed very cool in the car... Annoyingly cool!

‘How in earth, can a man be this cool and quiet towards his wife?’ She thought and hissed to all their hearings.

Connor turned and looked at her, while the driver looked at her through the rear mirror. Connor smiled and turned his head away. He continued punching his phone like he heard nothing.

Violet blushed within at the smile of Connor. Her inner self literally melted at the sight of her sweetheart’s smile. As always, ever since the very first day she saw him, she started to like him, his eyes were the ones that attracted him the most, yet she had a glance of them just once. Her wedding day was the second time she was seeing him and he still had the long blonde hair he had the very first time she met him.

Unlike Connor, Ramon didn’t even spare her a glance. Although he seemed more handsome than her crush but she had her eyes still on Connor for reasons she alone knew. But then, her husband was really looking very handsome, far more handsome than her crush that she begun to crush slightly on him.

But then, even if she had to love him, it just could never work between them, no matter the fact that they were married, somehow, her destiny was going to clash against his. So no matter what, she can never even be with him forever.

‘Too bad, hubby! A handsome man like you doesn’t deserve what lies ahead. If you were the man I saw before Connor, I would have loved you instead but then it was Connor and I am not like many other women.’ She thought.

“Ah finally, we are home.” Connor’s voice sounded so cheerful and when Violet glanced through the tinted glass window, her jaw dropped at what she saw.

“SO HUGE!” She exclaimed.
