04. Soul of A Beast!

As soon as her eyes saw the inside once she stepped in, she gasped for the second time in that evening. The house was more than big on the inside. It was beautiful, extraordinarily beautiful. The first things that welcomed her were the two giant plant pots that stood just some feet away from the door.

They were golden in color and had the most beautiful plants in them. The plants look like the plants of nut trees, only that they are shorter and more beautiful than the nut plants. Her eyes lingered around, the vast empty hall space she had just entered. It was filled with artificial plants and many other beautiful accessories that made it look like an in-house garden. The huge chandelier gave it the impression of them being in the garden, under the beautiful sunlight as it took the role of the sun.

Violet’s parents were wealthy, but not as wealthy as her husband’s parents. Was this actually what her parents were after? Was this the reason she was married to the eldest son of the Fridlings? His inheritance! She thought of the possibilities of getting married to Connor Fridling and still getting to live in the huge mansion and she found it 100% possible. She could not only be married to the man she had a long time crush on, but she was going to stay in this beautiful house. Everything couldn’t be any less perfect for her.

However, she had her own reasons as to why she agreed to marry Ramon Fridling.

“Welcome once again to your new home. Oh I am so happy Ramon had to go and get married as we compelled him to. He wasn’t__”

“Mom!” His mom kept quiet and continued to lead the way inside, ranting about everything but nothing till her husband had to take her away from the group, after a sincere apology and they entered though a golden door, that had the appearance of the wall around it.

‘A secret passage, huh!’ Violet mumbled to herself and then followed her husband and the rest up the grand staircases. The floor was different from the 3D tiles of the artificial greenhouse. It was made of marble tiles and the post-stands were made of gold and silver respectively. The walk to the top was quite long as no one spoke.

The servants who walked behind were so nervous and they looked at each other, wondering what was going on in front of them. Kimora was walking with Clara behind the couple and they kept looking at each other.

For Clara, the atmosphere was more than tensed for them. While for Kimora, she wondered if Violet was just in the family to ruin their happiness.

However, Connor was the least bothered by the atmosphere and kept walking ahead of the couple till they arrived their final destination where he took a turn to the right. When Violet looked at the direction he took, it was a continuation of the stairs she was just from climbing, but when she turned to her left, she saw another continuation and groaned.

Her lazy side thought she had reached her room already but she was nowhere near the room. She still had a staircase or more to climb before she could finally reach her room.

Kimora and Clara quickly bypassed the couple taking the staircase to the right; the very one Connor had taken. She just stood there looking around, wondering when Ramon was going to start walking up so she could get going fast. Her gown was weighing her and she needed to get out of it as fast as possible.

But how could she, when her beloved husband isn’t moving an inch. Just standing and punching his phone, giving her more reasons to hate him and only love Connor. At first, when they were in the car, her mind was in a serious battle on who will own her heart between the two brothers.

She begun to crush on Ramon while they were still in her hometown. The trip to his home intensified the crush the more, so she wondered if she could be with the two at the same time.

But with the way he was behaving before her, there was no way that she could like him half as much as she did when they were in the car. Just as she had thought, he was only a gentleman before his parents but when they were alone, he revealed his most fearsome monster that will not care about you, woman or man.

To her, he looked like a beast, the beast from ‘the beauty and the beast tale’. That beast never had the time to interact with people. He even locked Belle in a cell, behind iron bars. Who does that if not for someone that cares less about people, man or woman or child? Ramon was just like him, just that he wasn’t a beast physically, but he had the soul of a beast.

To avoid criticizing the more her husband, she kept her eyes glued to the wall in front of her. it was green in color with colorful flower patterns on it. On the wall, hung a biological tree of photos; from the fore-fathers and mothers, to the present day parents of Ramon and Connor. They looked like a powerful family line, each having a unique feature.

However, there was something in the pictures she noticed, there was some sort of familiarity, very strange and unknown to her but she knew what her mind was telling her. There was something very familiar between most of the photos that she could feel around Ramon too. But she had no idea what it was. With no idea on how similar they looked, she retreated into ignoring the whole similarity issue and turned to her husband who was still on his phone. Soon after, two maids came towards her and bowed their heads before her.

“Finally, you came.” Ramon’s rarely heard voice echoed and they bowed again.

“We are sincerely sorry, sir. Please forgive us.” One of them pleaded and their heads were still bowed.

‘Was Ramon making a call to them all along?’ She thought to herself. She looked at them and their uniforms were nothing near the uniforms of the maids in the mansion. They were putting on black long sleeved, off shoulder flared gowns that were slightly short, above the knee and their hairs were packed in ponytails. They wore their maiden’s cap on top of the classy maid’s uniforms they wore.

“But we are here now.”

“You dare not speak in that manner before me. I called your agency over an hour ago, have been trying to reach to them for the past 20 minutes and yet, it is now that you are coming.” Ramon sighed angrily.

‘He’s so cute whenever he is upset.’ Violet blushed at her own thoughts and shook her head.

“Anyways, you know what to do right, take her to her room immediately.” He ordered and immediately went down the stairs. Violet’s eyes followed him till he was out of sight.

“Please ma’am, this way.” One of the maids said, pointing towards the staircase to the right. Violet looked one last time down the stairs and followed them as they lead the way.
