CHAPTER HUNDRED AND FIFTY FOUR - BREATHE.

It was hard for her to open her eyes.
Hard for me. And it took a lot of effort to part my eyes. The blur was the first thing that me, as i groaned, ruffling in the sheets to turn over. My ears picked the lowest drip above me. And the beeping of the heart monitor. And then a whisper—
I recognized her voice.
"She's awake" Jacqueline cheered, as my eyes cleared to see her, first. And then Diane, by the side of my bed. She was in her black face mask but she pulled it down to reveal her smile.
I scoffed as Jacqueline made her way forward. "You're awake?" She muttered as a sly smile made its way to the corner of my lips. Even something as little as natural as that, caused pain to radiate in my sides. Like all the muscles were somewhat joined together. I heaved a sigh, which was a terrible idea.

MARIAI leaned against the glass windows. It was cool and you could hear the harsh droplets of rain on it.
