CHAPTER THIRTEEN 'Welcome to Green motten'

“Welcome to Green motten, my humble abode.” Poison said softly as they appeared in a sunny mansion surrounded with trees and wonderful flowers that bloomed naturally under the golden sunlight.

Violet glanced at it unfeelingly, her castle was better.

Poison walked through the beautiful greens and Violet followed, wondering why his area was so sunny. It made her feel somewhat uneasy.

“Why did you save me?”

Poison hesitated, “I—i could use some genuine tears on my funeral.”

“Huh? Didn't you say wanted to check on what I was doing? Does that mean you suspected that I was going to swallow other mortals energy.”

Poison let out a sigh of relief, “Yes.”

Violet frowned.

“Seriously though? Why does a god reincarnate to be a killer, I don't understand.”

“I could ask you the same question.

Violet clenched her fists and stepped into the mansion after Poison.

“Isn't it obvious?! I needed to preserve the other half of my soul for the day I would awaken fully. I reincarnated in Thestryn because they worshipped me.”

Poison smiled, “What about now? Do they still worship you?”

Violet rolled her eyes, “I don't even want to talk about that.”

Poison closed the door and walked past the set living room to the room beside it. Violet followed him to the beautiful kitchen with clear glass and a wonderful fire place.

It was the only thing she suddenly liked.

“By the way, when you first saw me, did you know it was me?”

“In my opinion, you're the same. You've just become a bit cocky now that you remember some of your memories of being worshipped.”

Poison stared at the fireplace and it caught on fire. He grabbed a pot and filled if with water before letting it warm on top of the fireplace.

“I'll show you to your room now, Violet.”

Poison led Violet out of the kitchen and held out his hand for her to hold as they climbed the stairs. Poison clutched his firm hands carefully and walked gently with him untill they arrived at the top of the stairs.

“Thanks.” She said, releasing his hand.

Poison opened the first room by the hallway and urged Violet to get in first.

When she entered, she was stunned by the design of the room. It had a planting of wonderful green leaves on the wall. It was amazing.

The bed was big and it had a table in the middle of the room. A closet across the room and a corner by the room where the bathroom was situated.

“This is your room but I doubt you'll get to live in it for a long time.”

Violet turned to face Poison who was already staring at her.

“You're going to be my student throughout your stay here. I'll help you discover how to fix your ehem, problem.”

Violet tssked.

“I'll prepare the bath for you.”

Violet eyes widened.

“Don't get used to my treat, I won't do it often.”

With that, Poison filled up the bathtub with warm water.

Violet perceived a whiff of a scent and looked at Poison expectantly.

“What did you put in the water?”

“Don't worry, it's for your own good.” Poison stepped out the room and closed the door behind him, giving Violet her privacy.

He headed to the kitchen and started preparing a meal, contemplating whether he made the right decision bringing her to his home.

Violet stepped downstairs, a new found enthusiasm in her facial expressions. At the bottom of the stairs, Poison was waiting.

“It's time to eat.”

“Well.. unlike you, I don't need to eat. I have a better idea,” Violet looked at Poison expectantly but he didn't react so she grinned, “SHOPPING!”

Poison let her moment of euphoria pass before saying, “First of all, food is a necessity to survive. You can't even control your own energy, how dare you think you can live without food? Second, I'll send someone to get your measurements. Starting now, you'll wear only the clothes I approve.”

Violet did not answer.

“If you don't agree with my rules then you can leave.”

Violet sighed. She needed to learn her powers.. she needed him to teach her how. It would be hard to bump into another god that was willing to help her.

“I'll listen to you, Poison.”

“Then.. your food is on the table, you should eat.”

Violet followed him to the table and played with the plate containing greens and some other stuffs that were meant to be healthy. She frowned and grabbed the spoon, staring at it distastefully.

“You shouldn't look at food like that. Everything is energy, including food. If you look at your food with remorse and eat it anyways, it won't nourish you to the greatest of its ability.”

Violet sighed, “What do I do? Look at it with love?”

“Exactly.”

Violet held back the urge to roll her eyes and stared back at the food, giving it the cutest look she could muster. “I love you, mr greens.” She said and took a spoonful of the meal. She expected it to taste distasteful but surprisingly, it was delicious and there was a bit of potatoes in the food, increasing the sweetness. Violet moaned, “Oh my god! This is so good! It's difficult to believe, how can vegetables taste this great.”

“That's just the misconception of vegetables among the common man. In reality, it is rich, sweet and nourishing.”

Violet dug in quickly, filling her mouth with as much as she could.

“It's no misconception, my aunt is a vegetarian. I once took a bite of her meal and it tasted yucky!” Violet shuddered at the memory. “You're just a really good cook, that's why I'm able to enjoy your meal.”

“So.. you have an aunt?”

Violet licked her lips, “That was before I awakened.”

“Don't confuse yourself, Violet. Associating yourself with mortals doesn't make you weak.”

“Excuse me?”

“To me, it seems you're going through an identity crisis. You don't want to associate yourself with Violet because she was weak and was easily killed, you also don't want to associate yourself with your true essence.. kind, loving, a protector of the weak because your past lover, Baddley took advantage of you. You just want to be seen as a god because gods are associated with power, immortality and flawlessness.”

Violet bit her lip, forcing back the tears that threatened to fall.

“I understand that you're hurt from both of your life experiences but if you're willing to face it and move forward, I'll help you.”

Violet looked up into Poison green eyes.

“I have a condition.”

A smile broke out of Poison lips, “You're not In the condition to strike a deal with me, but, I'm willing to hear it.”

“Promise you'll never take advantage of me.”

Poison chuckled unbelievably, “Why do you think I'd take advantage of you? T-that really hurt my feelings, I never thought you'd think of me that way.”

“I don't care. Promise me!”

Poison sighed again, “I promise.”

Violet grinned and without warning, pressed her lips against his lips. That lasted for a few seconds before she pulled away. She looked at the stunned look on Poison's face and rolled her eyes. “Don't think too much about why I just did it's—”

“—Thestryn weird culture of sealing a promise." Poison interupted, clenching his fist as he stood up from the table. “It's not like the first time you've done this to me.”

“Exactly, so you shouldn't take it too seriously.”

“NO! You should stop d-doing that to people! Kissing people without permission is inappropriate— No, it is assault— No! It is attempted rape so you should never do that again! I-if you do, I'll throw you out of my house w-without any kindness.” With that, Poison ran into a corner in the mansion.

Violet sighed, reflecting in her actions. Why was he so mad over a simple thing? He didn't complain about it before..

She shrugged, unbothered. Maybe he had some hidden trauma that made him react like that so it had nothing to do with her.
