He is back to normal

The door was unlocked.

He could see the small opening that let in the light of the room.

Darwin gulped nervously and squeaked the door open with trembling hands.

He shut his eyes as soon as the door opened. He didn't want to see Adrik's frightening face.

"What are you doing here so early in the morning?"

There was a deep but solemn voice echoing there.

Darwin slowly opened his eyes to see Adrik standing there in his bathing robe. He appears to be in good health, with no symptoms of V-m45.

"But how?" Darwin's inner curiosity enquired aloud.

Hello there, inquisitive soul!!! Are you even here? Adrik waved at him, seeing him lost in his own thoughts.

"Please accept my apologies. I was just thinking about last night, "Darwin said, awkwardly smiling.

"Whatever!!! Now go. Lucas will be arriving soon; do you remember what we talked about yesterday?" he asked solemnly.

Darwin nodded and walked back to his room.

Adrik enters dressed in a professional black tuxedo and a shoulder belt that holds his pistol.

He then wore a long black coat because he was bothered by the sun. When he was exposed to sunlight, he felt like his body was on fire.

He was looking stunning as usual, with his strong jawline and thin red attractive lips adding extra beauty to his face.

He exited his room and went downstairs to the main hall, where Lucas was waiting for him.

"Good morning, Boss." Lucas bowed in front of him and greeted him as soon as he saw him.

Adrik nodded in response to Lucas' greeting.

"Boss, I have important news...." Lucas did not even finish his sentence. Adrik came to a halt in the middle of his journey.

"I need specialised laboratory instruments and equipment today."

"But, Boss..." Lucas came to a halt when Adrik gave him a stern look. It was a clear indication to remain silent. Lucas was well aware that if he continued to question him, he would shoot him directly without hesitation.

Lucas was his most trusted man, but he was also afraid of Adrik because he had seen his boss kill brutally and his boss is extremely savage with his enemies.

His boss never abandons anyone who violates his trust; the only thing he does with them is shoot them on the spot.

'Lucas, don't push yourself too far,' Adrik said, staring at him fiercely, not angry but also not happy.

Darwin appeared and he sensed that a serious discussion was taking place. He was struck by Lucas and Adrik's solemn expressions.

*Cough* "Here is the list of laboratory instruments and equipment," Darwin said, passing the list to Lucas.

Lucas gave him an irritated look.

"I now understand. He must be the reason why the boss requires laboratory instruments. DAMN!!! Is he really the boss's boyfriend? "Lucas mused to himself.

"Take it, what are you staring at?" Darwin waved the paper list in front of Lucas' face to jolt him out of his reverie.

Lucas was taken aback; how could he treat me so rudely? I'm enraged. "I think he's the boss's boyfriend, because boss seems okay with his rude behaviour," Lucas reasoned.

He takes the list and his eyes widen.

"Boss, these are premium quality laboratory instruments and equipment; I will need to obtain these from the Novikov medical department's headquarters," Lucas stated solemnly. He was also befuddled.

He wanted to drag Darwin out and question him.

"Why the hell does he need these kinds of laboratory instruments?" "What the fuckk has he done with boss?"

Lucas was furious and anxious at Darwin.

"Then what's the problem, get these from the Novikov medical department's head quarters," Adrik said calmly.

"But, Boss, your elder brother Alec is returning from London today at 10:00 a.m."

Lucas informed him.

"Oh!!!" Adrik reacted with an ohh.

"Let him come; I want him to be surprised to see me alive."

"But Boss Novikov's medical head quarters are guarded by Alec's forces, and after he has announced that you are not in the Novikov Consigliers group, I don't think they will let me in," Lucas explained.

Adrik gave him a poker face and asked, "What did you think when I said medical department head quarters?"

Lucas paused for a moment, and then a sly smile appeared on his face.

"OK, Boss, I got it," Lucas said as he exited the mansion.

But there was something wrong there, and it was Darwin.

Darwin shivered in fear as soon as he heard Alec's name because he was the one who ordered his men to tie him up with the bomb.

But he was even more terrified when he discovered Alec was Adrik's older brother.

"Is his older brother's name Alec? Will he hand me over to his brother? "These ideas raced through Darwin's mind.

Adrik noticed his nervous expression and that he was sweating. Darwin's facial expressions indicate that he is terrified of someone or something.

"Hey, stop whatever you're thinking, I'm not going to hand you over to my brother. He's my foe, and you're my medicine right now. So you must always be with me ,"Adrik said, leaning back on the sofa.

"Thanks."

Darwin was fine with Adrik's decision because he knew he would be killed if he was caught by Alec's men.

"Now, go make the breakfast. I can't have servants now because their lives may be jeopardised in this mansion if they discovered about my identity," Adrik said. 

"Me," Darwin replied.
