KATERINA
We sat in the dining room which was as grand as anything I had ever seen. The beautiful mahogany table was decorated with a white silk cloth which had intricate blue petals embroidered in. The table was filled with many different types of food which was odd, since Haydon and his parents did not eat any food, instead, they sat with wine glasses filled with blood on the table.
It had been exactly five minutes of the four of us staring at each other awkwardly, when finally, Haydon broke the silence. “Is there a reason that we are waiting and staring at each other?”
Mr Haydon spoke, never lifting his eyes from me, “Yes, we are waiting for a few guests. They should be here, right about-“

KATERINAThe air in the house was cold and tense. The rooms were dark, and the home I had once felt comfortable in, was now uncomfortable and dreary. “Death?” my mother called out. Hunter weapons did not work on a vampire as rare as Death.The halls were silent, save for the clicking of our careful steps and heavy breathing. KATERINAThe waiting room was crowded, filled with the presence of my friends and family as we all waited patiently for my brother’s results. Haydon was sitting next to me, clutching my shaking hand while my father had my mother in a tight embrace. Today was the worst day of our lives, but it was also the best.
