Alpha Felix's POV

I held my head and stomped back to the palace. She had escaped. She had run, after letting that filthy boy pleasure her in the same ways that I had wanted to do. I felt foolish, revealing all my dealings with Dexter to her while she had probably gone behind me to sleep with him. The thought of it gnawed at my heart and the anger refused to stop burning my chest. I should have taken her when I had the chance, even if it had to be by force.

"Any luck, Alpha?" Sophie asked me as soon as I got to the palace. She had a bowl of warm water waiting with a towel to wipe the caked blood off my face.

"No. Where are all my guards?" I asked her, seeing that the hallway that led to my chambers was empty.

"I sent everyone to other parts of the palace. Tonight, I am the only one that will take care of you. They would all be ba..."

"And what gives you the right to give orders to my guards?" I barked, shocked at her effrontery.

"I...I just thought you would want to focus on heal

  • Veil Of Destiny   66: Vivid Images

Maria's POV "Leo, you found me?" I gasped, seeing the crazy image of the man I had tried so hard to run away from and forget in the past few months. "Did you really think that I never will?" He asked me, his eyes enraged as I saw that the only thing standing between me and my death was the few feet that he stood away from me. "Stay away from me!" I yelled and kicked furiously as he lunged for me. "Why should I? You have something that belongs to me" he said as his callused hands caressed my stomach. I flinched and tried to move away from him but he grabbed my head, throwing me roughly on the wall, not minding the condition that I was in. "You are going to kill me!" I yelled at him, willing myself to fight back but I saw the blood running down my legs. I held my stomach to feel for anything at all but there was nothing and Leo didn't look like he had the intention of ending the hurt he was causing me anytime soon."But if I don't, you will," he said and lunged for my neck. I was

  • Veil Of Destiny   65: Merry go round

Leo's POV The guard has been gone for two days now and yet, there was still no sign of him. I needed to know what was going on as the suspense was killing me, still I couldn't tell anyone, not even Sophia of the step that I had taken. This was my battle and I was not going to drag any other person into it. "You look like you have a lot on your mind. Want to share?" She asked me but I shook my head. "I'm fine. I've just had a lot to think about in the past few days. Why are you here?" I asked her, knowing that she never came to my study unless she wanted something. "I want to go to my people. For a while. My mom has been really worried. I have a feeling that she has heard what is going on in the pack here, especially seeing that the last victim had died in my stead" she explained and I pointed at the seat in front of me. "You really think I am going to put your life in danger?" I asked her. "Of course not, I know you will do everything within your power to protect me, I'm only sc

  • Veil Of Destiny   64: To the Wind

Leo's POV There was obviously a problem and it was now more evident than ever that this was a large-scale plan against my leadership. Three people have all died, people connected to the palace in the last few days and tensions were beginning to grow amongst the people. I also could not explain the dreams that I was having. "Have you checked on the lady?" I asked the nurses, as they had been going in and out of Sophia's room. She had passed out after seeing the body of her dear maid. I understood her pain, knowing how much she had loved Arya. I couldn't exactly pinpoint why the servants in the palace were being targeted by this killer."Yes, my king. She is stabilized now, you can go in and see her" the head nurse said to me just as she stepped out and closed the door gently behind her. I gave her a nod and made my way to the bedroom, where I saw that Sophia was sitting forlornly on her chair on the balcony, staring at nothing in particular. I went to her and gently held her but she

  • Veil Of Destiny   63: Eight Minutes Forward

Maria's POV "I don't think you are all that. You are a nice man" I said and even to me, the words tasted like chalk in my mouth and sounded like absolute trash. We both knew I was lying and he smiled at me. "You are an interesting character. Every time we talk, I feel like I want to know more about you. I have asked Elijah and Elvira, but they neither divulge anything. It makes you seem mysterious even though you carry a very simple persona." He said and I laughed. "Describing me as mysterious is weird. I'm just a simple woman. You can almost read me like a book" I said and he held his sides and laughed. I wondered what I had said that was so funny. The evening breeze blew my shirt and I felt my chest become exposed. Quickly, I grabbed the veil I had used to cover my head so I could avoid being seen by everyone. We were now under a tree, somewhere close to the palace, I could see that he wanted to go to the palace from all indications but I was avoiding His twin sister. "What's t

  • Veil Of Destiny   62: The  Admirer

Maria's POV "Girl, it has never been this hard coming to the clinic. Why is it so packed full today?" I asked Maria, seeing that the clinic was filled to the brim. It had only been two weeks since I had last been there, and at the time, it looked like the women were all allergic to it. Now, it looked like it was all they needed to survive, mostly the women. "Nathan." She simply said, looking quite frustrated herself. "What's wrong with him?" I asked her. "Are you serious? I have had about twenty women come here today and rained brimstones because their files were in front of me. They insisted that they had specifically asked for Nathan and that is who they should get." She said, looking quite exhausted with the whole situation going on around her. "Where is he though?" I asked her and she shook her head. "I don't really know and I don't care. I'll soon leave the hospital to attend to other things. Do you want to come with me? It's at the palace." She said and I immediately shook

  • Veil Of Destiny   61: A Jump in Time

Leo's POV "Who are you?" I demanded from the shimmering figure in front of me. A silver wolf, even in the dead of the night, the wolf illuminated everywhere so brightly that it looked like day. For the first time in my life, I felt what raw fear felt like. This wolf wasn't scared of me, to it I wasn't the dreaded Alpha King, I was simply a werewolf standing in his majestic presence. "You are unworthy and I have come to end you" he responded. "Why?" I demanded, even though my voice lacked the brazenness that it would usually have. "Your unworthiness has stemmed from your love interests. If allowed, you will bring an end to all the wolves. You must die!" The wolf said and suddenly lunged at me. We wrestled but I was no match for him, no matter how hard I tried too, I couldn't seem to find my wolf form to shift into. He had the upper hand and soon my whole body was filled with wounds. The wolf shone brighter with each cut on my body and I had to shield my face with my hands. "You
