The pain in my stomach was what rose me from my restless sleep. I was surprised to find myself in a hospital room, I found that both of my hands were cuffed to the bed. My whole body was aching, but the fear of finding myself in this strange position made me overlook the pain. I couldn't recall going to the hospital. The last thing I remembered was receiving a text message from an unknown number, which claimed that my husband of three years was cheating on me with my sister.
I didn't think that Damian would do that to me, but my curiosity had gotten the best of me and I had taken my car with the intention of going to the location I had received in the text message, according to the stranger, I would find my husband and sister in that hotel room together. but the moment I had gotten into the car everything had gone black, I didn't recall anything after that. I struggled to free myself but my binding didn't budge one bit, whoever had tied it hadn't cared about my comfort at all. I was just thinking of screaming for help when the door of the room was pushed open and three men walked in, my body tensed up as I sensed danger. Two of the men were presumably doctors, judging by their white coats and gloves, but the man walking behind them was someone familiar, he was one of my husband's bodyguards and I had seen him countless times in the past. " Ethan! Ethan, what's going on here? Why am I in the hospital? Who tied me up? " I asked in confusion. Ethan barely glanced at me, instead he chose to address one of the doctors. " Was the operation successful?" " Yes, one of her kidneys was successfully transferred to our other patient. the girl should be up by now " " Very good. Damien West will reward you for your efforts " Both men smiled brightly at the mention of a reward. I was speechless due to shock. I tried to make sense of what I had just heard, the doctors had said that one of my kidneys had been given to someone else. But how was that possible? Why would my organ be taken without my permission or knowledge? And Ethan knew about it as well? I thought he was one of the few people out there who would do anything to protect me, I trusted this man so much. I refused to believe that my organ had been tampered with, but then again the pain I felt on the side of my stomach was real. I couldn't have imagined it, this led me to panic " Ethan! " I called out again with more desperation in my voice " what is the meaning of this?! " " Emelia, this is nothing you should concern yourself about. Be obedient and wait for Damien to come " Ethan left the Hospital room after saying this, no matter how much I called for him to come back and give me an explanation, he ignored me. I was left alone, confused and very much afraid. The Doctors came to take my temperature and then forced me to swallow some pills. Their treatment towards me was harsh, it was the first time I was experiencing this kind of pain and fear. They left when they felt satisfied with the treatment. I had no idea how much time had passed before someone else walked into the room. it was a young nurse, she brought along with her a trolley carrying different kinds of dishes. She tried to feed me but the I refused to take even a small bit of food. For all I know this could be poisoned. " I want to ease myself first, or else I won't eat anything " " I don't think the doctor would allow that. Don't be difficult " " what? would you rather I pee myself?! Do you have any idea who my husband is?! " The nurse didn't say anything, but there was a look in her eyes which suggested she knew something I didn't. she hesitantly set me free from the cuffs, I pushed myself off the bed the moment I was free, I hissed at the burning pain that came from my stomach. I was tempted to lift up the hospital gown and see if truly I had been operated on, but fear didn't let me, I was afraid I would have a mental breakdown if I saw the severity of my situation I needed to get out of there first, and when I found my husband, I was sure he would do whatever it takes to find and punish those who had done this to me. Despite seeing Ethan, I refused to believe my husband had anything to do with this. Damien and I have been married for 3 years, and throughout that time, we had never had any disagreement that might make me think he had evil intentions towards me. I was the definition of a loyal wife, I did whatever Damien asked of me and made sure I didn't do anything to tarnish his public reputation. And although my husband wasn't the kind of person to show emotion outwardly, I knew he loved me as much as I loved him. He provided me with everything I needed and always ensured that I had a very good life. I loved him more than anything else in this world, and I would be willing to go through hell for him. The nurse led me to the restroom and then left me alone to relieve myself. I guessed the woman was inexperienced in keeping someone hostage because she didn't hesitate to leave me alone to go get something; she didn't even bother locking the door. It was almost too easy for me to Escape the Room. I walked down the corridors of the hospital with a limp; multiple people turned to look at me as I passed them, but thankfully nobody tried to stop me from leaving. When I finally made it to the common room where I intended to telephone my husband. When I make it to the common room, I was shocked to see a familiar figure in the hospital. Damien was about to leave with Ethan tagging closely behind him " Damien!" I tried to run towards him but I was still very weak. My joy on seeing him turned to confusion when he turns around to face me, my eyes quickly shifted to the woman in my husband's arm. " I see you are awake " Damien say, his voice cold and impatient " well then, I will call someone to drop you off at home when you are ready " " Dai, she looks very sick. why don't you allow her to come with us?" the woman in Damian's arm said in a very weak voice, her face was pale yet she still managed to look very beautiful My face turned pale when I saw the love and fondness in Damian's eyes as he looked down at my younger sister " don't talk, you need to save your energy ""Oh no, he's going to get you in trouble again," Evelyn bit her lips anxiously. Silas couldn't help but follow the movement. He wasn't known by his circle to be a patient person, but he didn't urge her to make a decision quickly. This frightened birdie had a weak mental state; he didn't want to push her into doing something she didn't want to.Besides, this might be the first time he was asking a woman out—usually, they just threw themselves at him."Alright then, but...would you be okay with me telling my father about you? Perhaps if he knows that you are the one who saved me, he might get off my back.""Sure, do as you wish.""How do you plan on doing this? Beth is very skilled; she doesn't even let me go to the bathroom alone.""Don't worry." He glanced at the woman briefly, then rose to his feet and gestured for Evelyn to follow. The blond girl blushed when he held her hand in his; those who didn't know their relationship would think they were a couple. "Your bodyguard isn't the o
Meet him? He was willing to meet up with her?Evelyn was stunned; it took her a long while to finally digest what her savior was proposing. From their short interaction, she’d thought he didn’t have a good view of her, he might even think she was annoying. But who would have thought that he would propose to meet up again! Her excitement died down, however, when she recalled the events of yesterday. Silas hadn’t hesitated to shoot those people; it was the first time Evelyn had been involved in a violent scene. There was something dark about him; perhaps he was involved in a gang or something. Either way, it meant he wasn’t safe, and the best option would be to stay away from him.Plus, her father and uncle were already mad at her; how could she do something to annoy them again? But she was curious about Silas; she had so many questions for him. If she passed off this opportunity, then who knows when she would get the chance to see him again."I’ll be there."Her mind was already made u
Sensing the rising tension, Luciano finally interfered. "It's enough now, both of you." He turned his gaze to Ashton; there was a bit of guilt in his eyes. "I will speak with him."Ashton scoffed, and with one last glare at his son, he walked out of the room. Only when he saw his father retreating back did Silas allow his emotions to reflect on his face. He was in disbelief; just now, he had been a bit scared that the man might take action. The way Ashton had stared at him was like looking at a dead thing, cold and detached.Slowly, he sat back on the sofa, his hands trembling by his side, which made him feel very irritated. "What would you like to talk to me about?""The girl you met—you shouldn't get involved with her anymore.""Why?""The reason is not important.""Not important?" Silas laughed dryly. "You saw his reaction just now. Did that imply that whatever is happening here isn't important? You all are trying to hide such a big secret, and you want me to play the role of an id
Silas was back in Italy by the next morning. Thankfully, he got to his grandfather's house just as his father's car stopped in front of the compound. The handsome man was dressed meticulously in a three-piece suit, his hair kept short and neatly cut. He exuded an air of coldness that intimidated those around him.Luciano came out to greet his adoptive son, a smile playing on his lips. "I didn’t expect you to come here today. To what do I owe the visit?""I'm here to bring the boy home. His mother worries.""He is old enough to go wherever he wants, Amore. There’s no need to coddle him. He is a Beriosova, after all."'That's it,' Ashton thought to himself. 'It's exactly because I know he is a Beriosova.'The longer Silas stayed in a place like this, the harder it would be to untangle him from the web of crime and illegal business his grandfather governed. Ashton hated this kind of lifestyle the most. He had left the compound after marriage, choosing to start an honest business his fami
Though the man was visibly angry, how could Evelyn leave just like that? She didn’t know why she was still lurking around; a part of her just wanted to get to know this person more. She felt an instant connection to him.Or perhaps it was the resemblance he shared with her mom. Every time she looked at his face, she was left feeling dazzled. He was simply too handsome; just one look into his eyes and she would get flustered. How nice it would be to befriend this person. Only then could she properly repay him for his help.“You don’t understand how difficult it was to find you. Now that I’m here, I can’t simply leave just like that. At least let me take you out for dinner.” No, that sounded like she was asking him out on a date! Seeing the man’s face darken further, she quickly added, “Or we can just talk here. I don’t mind.”“First of all, I don’t appreciate being stalked.” The fact that she had even managed to find him meant he hadn’t been on guard in the first place. That wouldn’t d
It was Saturday the next day, so she slept far into the morning than usual. She was awakened due to the constant pinging sound her phone made. Groggily, she picked it up and checked the messages; her eyes were wide with shock when she saw that the information had been sent to her. Bella was very meticulous in her work; she'd managed to pinpoint the exact location where the car was being stationed at the moment. The Moonlite Imperial Hotel, a five-star hotel whose history could also be traced back to the Royal family. It was once a mansion which was gifted to a young princess by her father. Though the hotel wasn't very big, due to its historical background and beautiful scenery, it was a popular tourist attraction. Those who stayed at this hotel were clearly people who had the money. Evelyn had been there once on a school tour. It was located in a remote part of town, nearly two hours' drive away from her father's company. Two damn hours!! Now, how the hell was she supposed to achieve
