18: The Thief

I was still dreaming when suddenly I heard a knock on the door. It was continuous and it made me alert.

I looked at the window and saw that the moon is still up, that's why I still feel the need to sleep. But who's that person outside?

I got out of bed and walked silently towards the door.

I put my ear close to the door to hear clearly who was outside.

"Analise! Analise! Are you here?" I heard a woman calling me, I couldn't find out who it was because she was just whispering. She breathes so fast, but I think I know this girl. I listened carefully first and when I realized that she was alone I slowly opened the door.

Eve's face appeared to me with a lot of sweat all over, as if she was very tired, she's gasping for air. She looked exhausted, as if she had run from Healers Pier all the way to here.

I immediately supported her and led her into my room.
