Chapter 7

I came back to reality with the old man in front of me smiling as sweetly as an old man can smile. His dentures were coffee stained and he smelled like he hasn’t showered in days. "Oh, I'm sorry, I didn't see you." the man said before he winked at me. I paused for a minute, trying to search for the words I would say to him without giving myself away.

"No, it's my fault," I replied coolly, "I'm a tad on the clumsy side." I smiled at him as innocently as possible. He seemed to have bought my act as he moved to make the conversation last longer.

"That's alright;" he answered slyly, "we all are at some point." He smiled at me again laying his hand upon my shoulder. We both chuckled and went our separate ways. I left the coffee place in the opposite direction as he had and got on my bike and started to head home. I didn’t know if I should be frightened at the strange couple’s presence or to completely disregard our meeting. They weren’t threatening me or Liam in anyway, but I still felt
