Having control over all the things in the kingdom, it didn’t take long before Karilaya had finally turned matters around.
Repairs on the capital were going smoothly. All the previous actions she wanted to be done, like the re-aligning of the seals within the entire city, were no longer an issue, since fear of using her magic did not restrain her.
It was the reason she now felt it was the right time to proceed with restoring their lands to how it was.
“Your majesty, are you sure it will be safe to remove the coven from their bonds this instant?” the old adviser asks.
The man was with her, together with her own guards, since she sent the others to handle things around the kingdom for this momentous day.
“Yes, mistress Moryana and the headmaster are already in place. I stationed Kirei and everyone else in each village outside to make su
The people felt a bit more at ease with the empire; they no longer had any qualms, especially after everybody found out that their princess was now the empress and would still be the one to rule them. She lowered the taxes enough for all of them to get by, not just for their area but also for the entire western continent that was under them, so that it wouldn’t cause too much strain on everyone.Trading between the west and their lands went on smoothly, allowing more products to come back and forth.“Good morning your majesty!”People greeted as they walk pass by them. Karilaya waved at them in reply. She and the others were currently viewing the restoration of the old kingdoms’ fields. After they had cleared the trees, the earth was now being plowed to prepare it for farming. Everyone was helping, including a few of th
As Karilaya proved she could handle basic politics and affairs of the land, she gained the head advisers, along with the magical council’s favor, being dubbed as the true empress of the Draconian Empire. And they state it in the imperial rule. She took over all of Alexander’s duties, allowing the man to focus on raising their sons. The man taught the boys everything he knew, from combat, control their forms, and learning the ways of their kind.A year more had passed, and they were finally ready to proceed with her coronation.Having healed from all of their wounds, Karilaya finally agreed to marry the emperor, which puts them in their current situation. With the land no longer tormented by the changing weather, the people at peace, and the kingdom once again flourishing. It was now time to go to the western lands to have her crowned and legitimatized as the sole wife of t
Its been a hundred years since the kingdom of Aselaysia managed to finally gain peace, after winning the last great war. The Aselaysian’s have become the vanguards of the eastern continent, becoming the sole defender that protected the land from the enemies that came from the western lands as their capital Lusha was situated on a canyon that had an interconnecting natural bridge to the eastern land. And now that the empire was approaching it was up to the present king to make sure that the enemies do not cross that pass. King Ramada let out a deep breath, clenching his fist on the hilt of his sword as dread began taking over him just by looking at the enemies ahead. A vast number of black-armored soldiers were marching on the plains below, almost covering the land with their sheer number, it was like a huge shadow was looming over the place as the green fields could no longer be seen. They carried a vertical red
Being situated near the cliff, Lusha castle was the fastest route to the eastern kingdom and the only passage within that land that was safe enough for an army to pass. That was why it was no surprise that the Black Army was already attacking the whole place. Karilaya watched the flashes of lights from the highest tower in the castle, it kept appearing from the far side of the walls, causing the sky to flicker every once in a while. A good sign that meant the magic surrounding the whole area was still in place. “Princess, you have to leave right now, the enemy has managed to break the first seal surrounding the castle, it won’t be long before they can break the second one.” Soraya, one of the princess’s royal guards states. Karilaya hugged herself, shaking when she felt the coldness of fear crawl inside her body. Just hearing those words was enough to make her tremble, knowing that their kingdom’s doom was near.
The princess was already giving out carriages and other possible mode of transport to some people when a man wearing a white armor, adorned with a lion head on both shoulders, a helmet that had feathers on it, without its mouth piece which allowed them to see his face along with carrying twin sabers on each side of his hips, a weapon only a true master within their kingdom would be able to wield. He bows down to show respect putting his fist on his heart in greeting. “Princess,” he states before straightening in attention in front of her. Seeing commander Hendall manage to put Karilaya at ease as she was now starting to worry why the man was taking so long after her summons. “Do we have any more soldiers to spare?” she quickly asks, knowing that they would need the man power in order to properly inform the townspeople of her creed. Commander Hendall let out a heavy sigh. “I’m afraid we don’t
A woman ran screaming and crying, clothes half thorn off while being chased by several cackling soldiers clad in black armor. A man was being beaten half to death as he tried to keep hold of his belongings that were in a knapsack. Bodies piled up on the streets, some half-alive while others already thorn to bits. Several houses were already on fire, some have huge holes and falling debris from an attack, while others were completely turned into rubble. The town had fallen and was no in a state of panic, chaos, and destruction. Cries of agony, terror, and demise mix with the laughs of lust, craze, and sheer rage mixed together through the air; the battle for the place raged on as some of the remaining soldiers still fought.Three fully armored horsemen move along the broken-down street, a few foot soldiers tagging along behind. Their horses marched through the carnage, unmindful of the horrors that were happening around them.
“Where are we going?” Karilaya kept looking behind her as the priestess and commander were now pushing her to move faster. They had pulled her into one of the secret passages within the castle walls, going down a spiral staircase. She was unable to do much as the darkness did not allow her to move on the very narrow pathway. With only a torch for a light, they were barely able to see anything in front of them.“No time to explain princess,” commander Hendall says when they reached a crossroad. He looked and checked the signs on the walls before proceeding to the left entrance.“I should be in the throne room,” Karilaya says in protest after they had finally stopped, knowing the possibility that her people were in panic without a leader on the throne.Giving her a soft pat on the back priestess Unei gave her a gourd. “Here princess, drink this, it will calm yo
“Where am I?” was all Karilaya could say the moment her consciousness returned. It was only when she felt so light and cold that she realize that something was not right, besides the fact that she could not feel the ground beneath her.Hearing the screams from above Karilaya then realized where she was, partly remembering what had occurred a while ago. Quickly setting her current condition aside, she was now worried as to what was happening. Moving with haste she proceeds towards the staircase not caring for the danger up ahead. The princess stops upon hearing noises of battle just up ahead, she chases the said sounds ending up behind the castle near the divine bridge. Her eyes grew wide upon seeing a Black Knight releasing onslaughts of attacks on commander Hendall who was trying to protect priestess Unei. She was about to move towards them when a huge light engulfed the group making her understand what the
