“Why do you doubt him?” It was the childish little voice that whispered in her mind.
She was currently contemplating with the Horomid all the while looking out into the palace’s terrace. She wanted to get at least an insight from her guardian spirits about what to do, knowing that somehow they may clear her thoughts.
“Because he has lied to me before. And I am afraid that all of this is but another farce,” she says.
Feeling that ache inside her chest, still fearing that the man might betray her again.
“Did you also not deceive him?” the sweet female voice whispered.
Karilaya could not help but grumble. “I did that to protect myself.”
“What makes your mistake more forgivable than his? A lie is a lie no matter how you make it,” the annoying spirit mocked, letting out a laugh after.

Its been a hundred years since the kingdom of Aselaysia managed to finally gain peace, after winning the last great war. Being situated near the cliff, Lusha castle was the fastest route to the eastern kingdom and the only passage within that land that was safe enough for an army to pass. That was why it was no surprise that the Black Army was already attacking the whole place. Karilaya watched the flashes of lights from the highest tower in the castle, it kept appearing from the far side of the walls, causing the sky to flicker every once in a while. A good sign that meant the magic surrounding the whole area was still in place. “Princess, you have to leave right now, the enemy has managed to break the first seal surrounding the castle, it won’t be long before they can break the second one.” Soraya, one of the princess’s royal guards states. Karilaya hugged herself, shaking when she felt the coldness of fear crawl inside her body. Just hearing those words was enough to make her tremble, knowing that their kingdom’s doom was near.

The princess was already giving out carriages and other possible mode of transport to some people when a man wearing a white armor, adorned with a lion head on both shoulders, a helmet that had feathers on it, without its mouth piece which allowed them to see his face along with carrying twin sabers on each side of his hips, a weapon only a true master within their kingdom would be able to wield. A woman ran screaming and crying, clothes half thorn off while being chased by several cackling soldiers clad in black armor. A man was being beaten half to death as he tried to keep hold of his belongings that were in a knapsack. Bodies piled up on the streets, some half-alive while others already thorn to bits. Several houses were already on fire, some have huge holes and falling debris from an attack, while others were completely turned into rubble.The town had fallen and was no in a state of panic, chaos, and destruction. Cries of agony, terror, and demise mix with the laughs of lust, craze, and sheer rage mixed together through the air; the battle for the place raged on as some of the remaining soldiers still fought.Three fully armored horsemen move along the broken-down street, a few foot soldiers tagging along behind. Their horses marched through the carnage, unmindful of the horrors that were happening around them.
