“Why do you doubt him?” It was the childish little voice that whispered in her mind.

She was currently contemplating with the Horomid all the while looking out into the palace’s terrace. She wanted to get at least an insight from her guardian spirits about what to do, knowing that somehow they may clear her thoughts.

“Because he has lied to me before. And I am afraid that all of this is but another farce,” she says.

Feeling that ache inside her chest, still fearing that the man might betray her again.

“Did you also not deceive him?” the sweet female voice whispered.

Karilaya could not help but grumble. “I did that to protect myself.”

“What makes your mistake more forgivable than his? A lie is a lie no matter how you make it,” the annoying spirit mocked, letting out a laugh after.
