Chapter 40: WILL WE GET A HAPPY ENDING?

"I knew you'd come back, because that's your destiny, goblin, isn't it?"

That spirit spoke to me with an overbearing attitude that made me extremely angry. I quickly grabbed the spirit's neck with my hand and made it cough.

“Stop talking nonsense, Watson. If you have something to say, say it, or I'll have to come back!"

“This place was once a chaotic battle, everything is now as calm as if there had never been a war.”

I smiled and looked at the soul. That's right, more than two hundred years after that war, things are much more modern now. Humans also invented modern technologies such as phones or laptops to easily communicate with each other. Watson's soul and I are still the same, we are the remnants of that chaotic battle that year.

“Will you take a walk with me?” Watson suggested.

“I don't want to remember the sad things of the past. Maybe that pain was too great for me, the day I saw Aubrey leave…” Tears flowed involuntarily down my face, on the quiet street with only my shadow.
