Chapter 15 THE ONLY PERSON WHO BELIEVES ME

[ANIKA HODGENS POV]

Nanny Cynthia was the one who faced me when I arrived. Her beaming smile proves how happy she was to see me, and she abruptly welcomed me inside their mansion.

My eyes wander around, probing for someone. Oddly, where is Jaz? Too soon to stay in the room, isn't she supposed to have dinner right now?

They are just as big as our house. It's the 2nd time I've stepped in, and I am exploring it more today. I remember the last time I woke up in Jaz's room. That was the first I ended up in somebody's bed.

Nanny Cynthis directly went upstairs as I settled myself on their couch. She seemed excited to announce my presence to Jaz.

My frustration flashed when Nanny Cynthia came down alone. Doesn't Jaz want to see me? Is she still mad at me? That's why I'm here, to say sorry and tell her how thankful I am because she gave me a chance to finish high school—the only person who believed in my innocence.
