When the three famous celestial brothers—Hades, Zeus, and Poseidon—have their divine attributes ripped away, there is almost nothing left with them as they become mere humans. Not until a mortal woman, Rheis, adopts them as her sons. Their lives abruptly change from having no omnipotent powers or worshippers to becoming heirs to billions upon billions of properties. And while on a family trip in Italy, the brothers receive an invitation to an exclusive elite party called the Lupercalian Twist, which takes place every fifteen years on the fifteenth of February. The main highlight of the event involves the men being randomly paired with a woman they have never met before. Each bachelor is being demanded to win the woman's heart before the event ends, otherwise, they risk losing all of their possessions to the institution. As the event requires Hades the need for a wife, no one appears to be eligible for him except for a woman he met by chance before and that is Stephenie. But how far Hades can go risking everything he has to win Stephenie's heart when her ex-fiancé unexpectedly reappears to steal his wife?
View MoreIt was a cold yet boisterous evening, crowded with a slew of gentlemen from various and sundry elite families. With each of their faces hidden under a dazzling mask, it was difficult to tell the difference between an oligarch and a tycoon. But one thing is certain: each mask conceals a bachelor who is awaiting to be selected for tonight's much anticipated event.
"We've come to see the highlight of tonight's event," the presenter exclaimed, too eagerly. With the microphone in his hand, he spread his arms wide enough to welcome everyone as his voice boomed in the Grand Hotel Plaza's vast grand ballroom.
The ballroom, which was furnished with magnificent lounges alternatively aligned on each corner, was already taken by random gentlemen dressed predominantly in luxury suits and tuxedos, while cocktail tables were spread across the hall just enough to accommodate guests limited to a certain number of each group.
Above them, however, dangled an exquisite chandelier, the lights of which reflected against the murals painted on the ceiling, adding to the vibrancy of the red carpets and burgundy drapes while leaving an ancient touch of the Roman empire from ages before.
"How long has it been? It was fifteen years ago since we had this event. And, as we promised fifteen years ago, this year will be even better than the last."
The presenter continued, while the giant led screen behind him flashed a large banner with the word: LUPERCALIAN TWIST.
It was at this point that the Olympia Brothers, Zeus Dreon, Poseidon Luies, and the eldest of the three, Hades Aldione, arrived. Even with their masks on, their unrivaled stature matched no one from the crowd.
Others who have been anticipating their entrance pause to see the trio enter till they are able to sit in a lounge that has been arranged for them.
"Mother must have tricked us when she said there would be a lot of beautiful ladies here," Zeus commented after roaming around seeking women.
"I see nothing except for mere bulls around. It's rather boring." Poseidon added.
Hades let out a sigh. Except for women, he hasn't heard anything else from his brothers since they arrived at the venue. He frowns at them and tells them to act properly, but they only laugh at him.
"Come on, Hades. Mother is nowhere to be seen. You can get rid of that damn perfect son image you've been wearing for a while now," Poseidon said, elbowing Hades who was still apathetic at the moment.
"I know you're bored as well. Your actions do not lie. We aren't brothers for nothing, Hades," Zeus said, spreading his arms on the back rest of the lounge. He must have felt his limbs constricted from the trip merely to attend the ceremony, as he cracked a muscle or two.
In astonishment, Hades shook his head. He couldn't agree with his brothers more. The event is truly tedious, but because their mother insisted on their participation, they must all go and witness it for themselves.
"What was so exceptional about this occasion that there were no women to be found?" Zeus pondered as his eyes wandered around hunting for any sight of a woman with whom he could flirt.
"You didn't come along to just look for women to either bang for the evening, did you?" Zeus was approached by Hades.
But Zeus held his stomach before bursting out laughing hysterically at Hades' abrupt assertion.
"Brother, you wound me," he said, pressing his palm against his chest to show Hades how sardonically offended he is. "I don't prowl women. They beg for me." he continued pompously. As he stretched his long legs over the coffee table, Zeus' natural blonde locks were swayed by his free hand away from his eyes.
Hades, who was growing agitated, chastised Zeus once more for his mischievous notions. He can't believe he was forced to babysit his dimwit brothers tonight.
While the three were engrossed in their discussions, another man approached the three who had to be one of the organizers. He stood in front of them, handing them three keycards. Each card had an embossed set of digits, which caused the three brothers to look at him in wonder.
"What is this for?" Hades inquired.
"These are the entries for the Lupercalian Twist, which will begin shortly," the man explained.
"Lupercalian Twist?" Poseidon stepped in to inquire.
The man turned his attention to Poseidon and spoke to him. "Yes, it's an event that occurs every fifteen years on the fifteenth of February. Where all eligible men are randomly paired with a single maiden for a matching event."
"And then what?" Zeus snuck in after hearing about the women.
"Whoever wins the other's heart will receive a large sum of money from the organization. And if you lose, you must pay us the amount specified by the institution."
"That's a nice catch," Zeus said, flashing a grin. Hades can't help but notice a stray thought in the back of his mind.
Hades was supposed to approach Zeus once more, but Poseidon interrupted to speak something.
"Pathetic," Poseidon replied instead, glaring rapidly at his brother, Zeus, before returning the cold stare. Hades felt Poseidon was thinking the same thing he was when he warned Zeus about his comments, but that was completely changed when Poseidon added, "Why would we waste our time for such games?"
"Because your mother, Rheis Olympia, signed an agreement to register the three of you," the man said expressively while fixing his tie, shooting them a pleased grin assuring them that all his words were genuine and without a hint of reluctance. It was as though he had prepared himself properly for the questions that the three brothers would throw at him.
Hades, who had been trying hard not to be affected by the news, eventually flinched. He wondered why their mother would agree to a ridiculous event.
"An agreement?" He queried. Hades rose from his seat to meet the man's height. He was a few inches taller than man, yet this didn't make the man falter even a bit.
"Would you like to see what's in the contract, Mr. Hades Aldione?" The man inquired.
Certainly, he desired to prove the veracity of his comments. But, for some reason, it was Hades who grew too hesitant to show to them that the man might really be telling them the truth.
"Can you show me the contract?" Hades asks firmly.
"Just a second," the man excused himself for a brief moment, only to return with a brown envelope. It contains a sheet of paper with a contract between Lupercalian Twist's management and Rheis Olympia.
The contract contains an irrevocable agreement, which stunned the three brothers. Whereas whoever of her sons fails to bring her a suitable wife after the Lupercalian Twist must surrender all his financial rights and belongings to the Lupercalian Twist institution.
They never approved of the agreement. It was shocking news for the brothers because they had never imagined their mother would actually put their lives on trial, putting their lifestyles in jeopardy whether they won or lost from the Lupercalian Twist.
In the dimly lit study of Rheis, the three brothers, Hades, Zeus, and Poseidon, stood shoulder to shoulder, their imposing presence reduced to that of mere boys. The three gentlemen stood shoulder to shoulder, their anxious gazes fixed upon their mother, anticipating her forthcoming reprimand. The memory of when this peculiar occurrence last transpired eluded them entirely. In the vast expanse of their separate lives, the three brothers had gradually become estranged from the familiar rhythms that once bound them together in their youth.Hardly any of them could recall every single moment of it, their memories scattered amidst the chaos of their bustling lives. Yet, as they assembled in this very instant, a peculiar thing occurred—a surge of recollection, akin to a whirlpool of memories, swiftly inundated their minds. The memory, though not entirely unpleasant, now seemed to cast a shadow over the brothers' present moment, evoking nothing more than a sense of discomfort. They exchange
After the chaos that took place in their dining room, Hades suddenly felt the need to leave his two brothers behind. From the very beginning, he had the impression that having dinner with them would not be a very good idea. If his mother hadn't asked him to, he probably wouldn't have made any effort at all to invite both Zeus and Poseidon back to their home.Hades had previously anticipated that something similar would most likely take place sooner or later, and it appears that he wasn't wrong about that prediction. Their entire evening was ruined by a single disturbance, and now even their mother is very upset with all of the behavior that they have displayed. The fact that he had to answer for his brother's mistakes, despite the fact that he was in no way responsible for anything that had taken place, was by far the most upsetting aspect of the situation. This is one of the reasons why Hades stopped associating with Zeus and Poseidon altogether. Hades refused to do so because of thi
“One of you three is the biological father of this child,” Rheis said, pointing out the woman’s womb. Before Rheis could even continue what she was about to say, she was eventually stopped when Zeus disentangled himself from Thanatos' grip as he approached the woman and exclaimed, "You! You have no right to even set foot inside this home! How dare you!”However, rather than responding to him, the woman preferred to hide behind Rheis and show that she was terrified. When Zeus found out that the woman was now using his own mother as a shield between herself and him, his fury level skyrocketed. “Don’t you dare use my mother in your selfish and evil scheme, Beatrice.”
Poseidon gave Thanatos one final eerie look before finally withdrawing from the room and making his way into the dining hall. Thanatos had a smirk on his face. Thanatos, for his part, couldn't help but feel a sigh of relief when they finally parted ways and their encounter didn't escalate into some form of physical conflict. Since then, he had been making an effort to keep that from happening, particularly while he was in the house of the Olympia family, because he knew he would feel extremely embarrassed to face Rheis Olympia if she found out that he had struck one of her most cherished children.AT THE DINING HALL, they were all eventually seated at the long table. In his role as patriarch of the family, Hades took a seat in the upper left-hand corner of the room, and Rheis took a seat on his right. Thanatos opted to take a seat on Hades' left side, while Poseidon and Zeus chose to take sea
And at that point, Hades recalled that he had actually promised to give Zeus his villa in the Maldives in exchange for his attendance at the dinner that they were having tonight. He just grinned sarcastically at the thought of having to bargain too much in order to have someone join them for dinner. He was just at ease because it was his brother after all, so he left it at that."Of course, make sure that everything is prepared for when Zeus arrives. I am certain that it will be the very first thing that he will inquire about." Hades chimed in with a response.Thanatos nodded, but couldn't help but wonder whether he should ask. "Hades, I have to admit that I was just a little bit curious about this. Why did you give up that property in the Maldives when you were aware that—"Thanatos was in
A day after Hades took a brief getaway from his office to meet up with his two brothers, he and Thanatos boarded their flight back to North Carolina to prepare for dinner with Rheis. As one might have anticipated, Hades took the necessary precautions to ensure that the dinner would go off without a hitch. During the time that preparations were being made for the dinner that only took place once in a blue moon, the dining room of the mansion had been given a fresh coat of glitz and glamour.Rheis would frequently dine by herself at the lengthy rectangular table in the dining room, which had seating for approximately twenty individuals. It sounded and appeared to be way too lonely, but that such a scene had been the case ever since Zeus and Poseidon lived outside of the mansion and settled for their own places outside of the state.
Hades had found the ideal position for himself on the reclining black futon, which he almost considered to be a sex bed.“Mother wants to see all of us for dinner this coming Friday.” Hades finally said it.Without uttering a single word, Zeus simply turned his head in Hades' direction while maintaining a blank expression on his face. He was still unsure as to whether or not Hades was playing a joke on him, but the subsequent few seconds of silence convinced him that Hades was indeed being serious about what he had just said.As Zeus responded, "Brother, I'm afraid I might not be able to join on Friday night," he could hardly muster up a smile.“How come?” Hades abruptly asked.
Hades' thoughts were preoccupied by the simple fact that he would not have another opportunity to see Rebecca, as well as the idea that he came dangerously close to losing his composure with the flight attendant earlier, Hades was disgusted by his unexpected behavior some time ago.“Shall I get you some coffee?” As soon as they arrived at the mansion where Zeus was staying, Thanatos eagerly made his offer.Zeus’s house has an unobstructed view of Lake Union, the Olympic Mountains, Puget Sound, and the historic St. Mark's Cathedral, and it is prominently located on one of the most beautiful tree-lined streets within the Harvard-Belmont Historic Landmark District.A potent creative collaboration has been transformed into the interior spaces of Zeus' home, giving it a sophisticated and c
“Did you just say you saw Rebecca?”When Thanatos found out about it from Hades, he was completely taken aback. He speculated that Hades had been so distraught by the failure of his search that he had started hallucinating about Rebecca, even when she was in the most remote location from which he could possibly see her.Thanatos was completely mistaken in assuming that Rebecca was somewhere in the Miami, Florida area. He recalled how Rebecca appeared, as well as the fact that Rebecca was not the type of person who could lazily travel around in a city where every minute would cost her a significant amount of money. However, just based on Hades' appearance in front of Thanatos, Thanatos couldn't help but feel a little concerned about Hades’ well-being. Since the day Rebecca disappeared
