Chapter 5: Possession
It was break time, and I stayed inside their classroom. I kept my head down on the desk, simply soaking in the silence of the room.
A loud thud broke the silence. I turned to my right. I saw a somewhat older-looking girl, compared to her classmates, slowly stand up. My eyebrows furrowed when I noticed one of Freiya’s classmates sneak behind the girl without her noticing. I stood up and walked over to them.
My eyebrows were furrowed as I read what was written on the paper: “I’m so pretty, aren’t I? Are you jealous?” Oh, this is really crossing the line! I looked over at the group of male students, and I could see their grins.
The girl tried to protest, but she was cut off by one of the guys. "What’s wrong? Are you going to cry? Are you going to tell your mom? Owwwwwww," he teased, and his friends laughed along. The girl stayed silent, and I could tell she was on the verge of tears. I suddenly felt sympathy for her. An emotion stirred inside me, and I wasn’t sure why, but it felt like I knew exactly what she was going through.
One of the guys grabbed her bag and was about to swing it at her. I ran toward the girl to stop him. I raised my hands to stop the guy. I saw how I was able to hold his hand with my bare hands and stop him with physical strength. The guy’s face registered shock, and I was equally stunned. He quickly regained himself and pulled his hand away from mine. I then felt a force from behind and quickly dodged, causing one of the guys to crash into the desk in front of me. He shot me a harsh glare. I turned around and immediately grabbed the hand of another guy who was about to push me. I pushed his hand off, and he staggered backward.
Another guy was about to swing the bag at me again, but a voice stopped him.
"Jeff! What do you think you’re doing?" It was the teacher’s authoritative voice. "You’re not children anymore to be bullying your classmate! Where is your respect? It’s as if you’ve forgotten what that even means! You know bullying is wrong. If I hadn’t come in early, I wouldn’t have known just how rotten your behavior is! Now, go back to your seats!" the teacher added, furious. She walked over to me—or, more accurately, to the girl who had been bullied earlier, the one whose body I was in at that moment.
The teacher sighed and gently took my hand. "Are you okay, Kyla?" she asked. I nodded slowly. "Next time, if they do this again, tell me or any teacher, okay?" she added calmly, then gave the boys now sitting in their seats a sharp, reproachful look. I nodded quietly.
I glanced toward the door, and just then, Freiya entered. She looked around as if searching for something. I was about to call out to her, but just as I took a step forward, a strong force pushed me. I turned around and only then realized I was no longer inside the girl’s body that I had inhabited just moments ago. The girl was left standing there, clearly confused, as she looked around, unsure of what had just happened.
My eyes quickly searched for Freiya, and I saw her walking toward me. She casually waved at me and then took her seat. Even though I was still unsettled from earlier, I decided to follow her to the back of the room and wait for their class to end.
I walked alongside Freiya. Their class had just finished, and now we were heading home. I glanced at her before speaking, "Freiya, I think I can possess someone."
She turned to look at me. "How?"
"Well, you know, while you were buying food in the canteen earlier… Ummm, one of your classmates was being bullied by some others. I was about to help her, but when I tried to intervene and stop them from hitting her with the bag, I was suddenly surprised because I was controlling her body. I mean, I was the one controlling her body." I explained to her in one long sentence. Her eyes widened in disbelief. "Really?" she asked eagerly. I nodded. Her smile grew wider, "Let’s try it!!!" she exclaimed excitedly.
I gave her an unsure smile, "But I’m not really sure how I did it. It just kind of happened, and I ended up outside of her body."
"Then let’s practice!" she suggested.
I just smiled and shook my head. How were we going to make this work?

Chapter 4: Two Types of YouthTHE NEXT DAY, I accompanied Freiya to school. We decided that after her classes, we would start looking for answers. As she walked in, she was almost confronted by the girl she had argued with the day before, but it didn’t happen because their teacher arrived just in time. Freiya immediately sat at her desk while I took an empty seat in the back. From where I was sitting, I could see everything. Some were laughing, some were whispering, some were quietly teasing each other, and there were also those lost in their own world, sitting quietly at their desks. Typical high school students. I probably was just like them before all of this happened. I probably was happy, just like them. But happiness… why does it feel like it's one of the things I’m missing? The teacher cleared her throat to get the attention of the class. "Good day, section Daffodil," she began."Good day, Ma’am," the whole class responded in unison."At this point, I want each of you to explain
Chapter 3: AgreementI was in that position when I suddenly realized something. Am I really just going to accept this? Am I really going to stay as a ghost forever? No. Definitely NO! I need to do something. With all the strength left in me, I stood up. I walked in the direction where the girl had turned. I even ran. I’m sure she hasn’t gone far. After just one turn, a large building appeared before me."GWYNETH UNIVERSITY"I walked through the large gates of the school. Students wearing the same uniform as the girl I saw earlier were roaming around. So this must be her school. I’d surely have a hard time looking for her here. Considering I was still at the entrance and could barely see any other buildings because of the towering structures scattered across the campus, I knew it wouldn’t be easy.Without wasting any more time, I quickly scanned the entire school. Where could she be? I wandered around the campus, going in and out of ro
The sound of birds and the rustling of leaves woke me up the next morning. A white room greeted me as soon as I opened my eyes. There was an IV drip attached to one of my arms, and I realized I was in the hospital. I didn’t know why I was here or why I felt so light. It felt so light that I couldn't understand why. I decided to get up and look out the window. The area outside the building was clear, and the sunlight was bright. My gaze shifted to the IV in my hand. I knew I shouldn't, but I pulled it out. A little blood came out when the needle was withdrawn. I put the IV aside and looked for something to cover my hospital gown. Just then, I saw a black jacket on the sofa in the room. I grabbed it and put it on. It was the right size to cover the hospital dress.I knew I was supposed to stay here, but one of the places I hate most is the hospital. It only brings back bad memories. I walked to the door and went out. I immediately looked to the right when I heard something fall. The nurs
The flickering lights from the lamp illuminated my four-cornered room as I pulled its switch continuously to disturb myself from unwanted thoughts. Being alone in the middle of the night gives excruciating chills to my system, and I never get used to it.Only the lamp provides light in the room, and turning it on and off only intensifies the terrifying feeling. Something I should have gotten used to long ago. Every time I turn on the light, different kinds of images appear between my memories.
