**Athena's POV**
I thrashed my head from side to side as he pushed into me. Just then, I heard a loud bang on the door. I had expected Ragas to get off me, but he didn't, rather he took me harder.“Hel-” he quickly covered my mouth with his hand, shutting me up that very instant. Whoever it was continued to hit the door while Ragas also continued with what he was doing.I can't tell how long it took, but when he had gotten enough of me, he pulled away, leaving me on the cold floor.Just then, the door to the room was pulled down instantly and to my greatest horror, I perceived Lorrie's scent in the room accompanied by another scent that was a little familiar. I let out a shocked gasp, when I realized Lorrie had seen me in the worst of all states.Though I can't tell what expression she carries as of the moment, but one thing was for sure and there is the fact that she was going to kill me.Immediately, I reached for my dress, Which lingered around my legs and pulled it up to cover my chest, with trembling hands. Despite all this, I was still feeling terribly weak.“What have you done, you sly bitch!” Lorrie attacked me instantly, pulling me by the hair.“I swear, I'm going to kill you right here and now!” She yelled as he continued to pull my hair.“Lorrie, please let her go,” I heard Ragas say.“Let her go? Why should I? She literally seduced you, didn't she?”“No… I didn't se-”I didn't get to finish my statement before I got slapped hard across the face.Immediately, I took my hands to my face.“The nerve you have to speak after being caught! Ryan, drag the shameless slut outside the room to the hall. I want everyone to see what a slut she has.”My heart sank that very instant.“Lorrie, don't you dare do that!”Ragas yelled.“And why not? Don't tell me you enjoy being seduced by her!”“No…no of course not.”“Then, do not speak! I'm heartbroken right now, so let me handle matters as they are. I'll never let a nobody like her ruin my life!”I grabbed my dress firmly with tears running down my cheeks. Why is this happening to me? This was never my fault, yet I'm about to get punished for what I didn't do. How can life be this unfair to me, why?In tears, I was dragged out of the room by the hands.“Please don't do this to me, Lorrie. Alpha Ragas, tell her the truth! Tell her you were the one who forced me!”I screamed out and wailed, but no one listened to me.In the process where I was being manhandled and dragged out, a sudden air blew past me.“What do you all think you're doing?!"The deep voice thundered in the air and immediately, there came a stillness I've never experienced before. Why was everyone suddenly quiet? The only thing that echoed in my ears was the solid footsteps which, I sensed, were coming towards me.I still held on to my cane with the other hand holding my dress around my chest.Just then, I felt my inner wolf stir for reasons I couldn't tell and the words, mate, instantly echoed into my ears like an alarm bell ringing in my head and immediately I froze. What was that? Mate? What mate?“Isn't that The Lycan Alpha of the Nightshade?”I heard someone whisper in fright. What? The Lycan Alpha is here?“Greetings, A…alpha Jeremy. ”I heard the trembling voice of Bianca say. That was accompanied by everyone, greeting him in the same way, “Greetings Alpha!”It was him. I tried to scramble off the ground, but my legs failed me and I fell back down on the floor.I needed to understand the situation I'm in. Did my wolf call out to the Lycan Alpha? Hell no! I mean, it's bad enough that I was mated to the Alpha of the Dark Moon Pack which is popular known all over. Now my wolf is calling out to the Lycan Alpha? A man no one dares to go against. Not even Ragas.“Who would have thought that coming to the engagement ceremony of my good friend will not only make me see the manner of injustice taking place but also see that my mate is the one being abused in front of me.”“Huh?!” The hall instantly went into great panic. Presently, I felt like the ground should open and swallow me whole.Just then, I heard the sound of footsteps coming in my direction.“Please don't come close! Please…"“Nice to meet you, mate,” he said, the words so close to my ears.“Let's get you cleaned up,” he suddenly held me firmly by the arm and gently pulled me up. The moment our skin touched, I felt sparks all over me. How did this happen? Ragas were still my mate, and now another mate emerged in the span of two years, and it has to be the Lycan Alpha!**“Alpha Jeremy, I apologize for what you had to witness, but I can assure you that things aren't always like this in the pack,” I heard Alpha Derek say.How could he say that?“This is baffling. Are you trying to tell me, you have no idea that a blind pack member is being bullied in your very own pack?”“I apologize for all this. If I had known, I would have stopped this madness before it got to this point. I mean, I saved her in the first place and made her my second daughter. While all this was ongoing, the Alpha held me firmly by the hand, while I held on to my cane with my other hand. My heart was pounding heavily in my chest. I never expected such a turn of events.“Since it has come to this, I can only say one thing, so listen carefully.”“I'm all ears, Alpha.”“Since Athena here is my mate, it is only right that I take her back with me to my pack.”Instantly I tightened the hold of my cane in utter shock. Turns out I wasn't the only one shocked, but all those present. I could hear their gasps and whispers.“B…but I believe you're well aware of the condition of Athena. I mean, in her state, I'm not sure if she'll make a worthy Lycan Luna of your reign."“Impudence!” He thundered in anger, causing everyone to shiver in fright.“How dare you say that about my mate!”“My apologies, I was only trying to exp-”“I don't need your explanations!”This made me feel a lot of relief. The moon goddess has finally remembered me. Finally, someone will take me out of the dungeons called a pack, and it's no one else but the Lycan Alpha. I can't begin to explain just how happy I feel at the moment.“Well, I should thank you for the years you've taken care of her. From now on, I'll be responsible for her.”Suddenly, I sensed him lean closer to me.“Permit me for doing this,” he stated, and the next thing I knew, I was being carried off the ground and into his strong arms.I let out a low gasp at this action and so did everyone in the Pack house.“I'm taking my mate home, goodbye, Alpha Derek.”Now that I was in his arms, my heartbeat increased and I felt so awkward.“Relax and wrap your arms around me,” he whispered into my ears, which made me shiver.“B…but my cane,” I muttered.“You don't need that. I'll get you a better means of movement."**Athena's POV***# A Week Later It's been a week ever since I arrived at the Nightshade pack. Everything still seemed like a dream to me. A week of peace. I felt like this was where I should be all along. With the help of the maid, I was taken to the breakfast table to join Jeremy for breakfast. “Good morning, Alpha,” I greeted. “Good morn-”“Where is she? I would like to see that tramp!” A lady's voice echoed in the air, which made my smile disappear like the wind. “What is the screaming all about, Octavia?”“Love, I heard you brought a woman home who happens to be your mate. Is this true?”Immediately, my blood ran cold. Did she just say, love?“Why don't you take a seat, so I can explain what's going on.”I blinked in utter confusion. My ears must have deceived me. More than anyone, I really want to hear what he has to say. “Athena, here, is indeed my mate.”“Oh my goodness! H…her?” The lady asked with a shaky voice. “Yes, her. She's my mate, but that doesn't change anythin
ATHENA'S POVWhen he left, I felt so miserable. It felt like my life was finally crumbling down in pieces. The everlasting darkness surrounding me made it even more so miserable. My tears were hot against my cheeks as they refused to stop. I didn't want to cry, nor did I want to feel pathetic, but I couldn't help it.I could endure Lorrie, and Ragas. I was used to them but with the Lycan Alpha… it was different. I didn't know the worst he could do but I already knew the worst Lorrie could do. I didn't know to what extent he and his so-called lover could go. I had waded in waters I wasn't familiar with. Sitting there all day was me staring at my walls of darkness. Hearing people as they walked by, hearing my door open, hearing the chink of dishes and cutlery, smelling the enticing aroma but not minding all of that. I was in my own world of darkness and misery, and didn't care for anything. Hours passed by and when I felt the cool breeze blowing in, I knew it was night already. I re
ATHENA.I didn't mind, quickly brushing it off and concluding that it was probably one of her maids who had offended her that she was referring to. I walked into the changing room, and started to take off my clothes, preparing to slip into the new clothes. It seemed to be a sort of… I felt around the clothes and concluded it was a blazer dress. Lorrie had so many of them. She always yapped on and on about it. She loved Blazer dresses. I couldn't believe I was getting to wear one. I slipped the dress on, buttoning it up and fixing its belt. It was short, and it felt weird wearing something short. Jane had gotten heels but they were little. She was being considerate. I pulled the shoes on and tapped around for the little bag. I found it, and held the strap before walking carefully out the door. You won't believe how a pair of shoes and a dress known to be pretty made me feel very royal. "Wow!" Jane exclaimed softly when she saw me, and I gave a little smile. "You are beautiful." A
ATHENA’S POV“Are you okay? I heard what happened.” Alpha Jeremy asked me as he held my shoulders.“Y… Yes, I am.” I managed to speak out, although with a shaky voice.“Get her something to wear, immediately! Or what are you standing here for!” Alpha Jeremy yelled at them.“Jane just went to get her something to wear, Alpha.” One of the maids responded politely. Then I felt Alpha Jeremy’s stare on me. He embraced me, and I could feel his warm breath around my neck. Anyone would think that I was happy with the way he came to me, and embraced me, but I wasn’t totally happy when I knew that there was no possible way, he could treat me better than his beloved, Octavia.“I don’t feel too comfortable.” I spoke out, and he let go of me, slowly. Then I felt Jane’s presence. She must have brought the gown with her, so I walked into the dressing room without anyone informing me that I had to. Jane walked into the dressing room, and helped me remove whatever she had used to cover me up, but I st
ATHENA’S POVMy heart broke, and it felt as if they had thrown spikes at my heart. Even as I was blind, I still would feel embarrassed if I ever went outside, and what was even more heartbreaking was the fact that it sounded as if Alpha Jeremy was only pissed because of his image, and not because of how I was going to feel towards it.“You need to stop this unnecessary jealousy. It isn’t worth it. Now, because of you, I would have to call for a press conference, because obviously, only a press conference would do justice to this.” Alpha Jeremy lashed out.“But… everyone fears you, my love. You can just tell it to the media to debunk any idea they have of you.” Octavia spoke, calmly.“It’s not done that way. I can’t use the fear to get rid of the thought from people’s head. Apart from being feared, they will still have this idea that I don’t treat people right, and most of all, the blind, and that’s not how it’s supposed to be. A king is expected to be more, okay!”Then I felt someone
ATHENA’S POVIt felt so good to feel acknowledged, and noticed. The excitement bubbling in me just at the thought of going to a college of Arts was quite overwhelming, and what was even more delightful about the offer was the fact that it wasn’t a school specially made for the disabled, so I didn’t have to feel pitiful or miserable. Going to a school with normal people felt like an honor because most of my life there had always been that line, that boundary—no matter how great I was at what I did, they still acknowledged me as a different person. We were different people because I couldn't see but they could. I was at a disadvantage. Most of the time, it had struck me deep that although I could do most things that a totally normal person with two beautiful and working eyes could do, and sometimes, even better than they would do, but there was little I could do about my situation. I had been forced to accept it. The thought of the press conference strayed into my mind and a sigh esc
ATHENA’S POV“Good morning, miss.” Jane greeted as she helped me up.“Good morning. How much time do I have until the press conference?” I asked, inquisitively.“About two hours, I think. You’ll need to get ready as soon as you can, so you can join Alpha Jeremy and Octavia for breakfast.” Jane replied politely.“Uhm… Regarding the breakfast, can I have mine in my room?” I inquired, not interested in being anywhere around Octavia.“That’s not for me to decide, Miss. You can talk to Alpha Jeremy about it, but I doubt he would listen. I know you might be feeling reluctant to share a meal with Octavia, but you need to act confident, and if you’re trying so much to avoid trouble from Octavia, you can just eat silently while at the table.” Jane advised, and held my hand softly.“Tha… Thank you.” I appreciated her, and found my way to the bathroom with the help of my cane.I would have loved it if I could stall at the bathroom, but that could also be me, opening wrath to myself. But I couldn
ATHENA'S POV“You did so well. I love that. I have already made preparations for your school, so get prepared to start attending, from tomorrow.” Alpha Jeremy informed me while we were in his car.I was wondering what I was to expect, tomorrow, and I hoped that my experience there would turn out great. When we got home, I walked back to my room myself, and then a knock came on my door immediately I settled down.“Come in.” I urged and heard the person, walking in.“How are you doing, miss? I came to offer you fruits.” Jane said as she placed the tray of fruits beside me on the bed.“Thank you. What’s the occasion?” I asked as I still wasn’t used to being treated this nicely.“You just came back from a press conference which can be quite stressful, especially with the questions you answered there. Dinner isn’t ready yet, so I decided to provide you with fruits to hold on.” She explained as she handed over an apple to me.“Thanks.”“So, I heard that you’ll be attending a college of art,
