Bitterness

ALPHA JEREMY’S POV

I was in my study, working on a few business proposals which I preferred to work on here, and not at work. Sometimes, I just prefer to work at home, and I use that to also test my secretary’s capabilities when I’m not around.

My phone rang, and I discovered it was Henry, my beta.

“Hey henry, what’s going on?” I asked, wondering why he had called this time.

“Alpha, I have something really important to relay to you.” He informed, with an urgent tone.

“Alright, speak up. I’m all ears.”

“No, Alpha, it’s not something I can say out to you over the phone. As soon as I’m out of here, I will come over to the palace.” He said immediately, and hung up.

Something was definitely wrong somewhere. And I hoped that he would come back home safe to let me know what it was.

ATHENA’S POV

I decided to pretend like nothing was probably about to go wrong, because that’s what I wanted to believe. I reached out for my cane, but I felt someone toss it away.
