chapter - 5:

Arvi pov:

Today is Saturday. So I took a day off today.

After getting ready I went downstairs. All are present in the living room they are discussing about something important. When they saw me they stopped talking.

"What's going on?" I asked puzzled by their behavior.

"Arvi we have something important to discuss with you and don't get panic after listening to this" papa said getting all serious. That means it's really important matter.

"Go ahead papa" I said. Bhabhi gave me a glass of juice and I started drinking it.

"We want you to get married" papa said. I spit out the juice I'm drinking.

"What? You can't be serious papa" I asked. Can someone tell me my papa is just joking.

"You heard it right" Papa said.

"I don't want to get married now papa and you also knew it" I whined.

"Yes but we won't be there with you throughout your life. You need someone who will take care of you like us" Papa said side hugging me.

"I'm not ready for this huge step in my life" I said to escape from this.

"Every girl feels likes you only before marriage but after marriage they becomes responsible and besides you don't love anyone that's why we thought to give a chance to this proposal " Mumma said leaving no chance for me to escape from this proposal.

"You knew too much about me Mumma" I said.

"I know everything about my daughter and it is the best age for u to get married" Mumma said and I smiled at her.

"Who is he papa?" I asked.

"His name is Karthik and..." papa is saying but he was cut off by me.

"He is vihaan uncle's son right" I asked.

"Yes we all liked him" papa said.

"Think about it and tell me your decision by evening" Mamma said.

"ok" I said.

I am laying on my bed and thinking about the proposal. When bhabhi entered in to my room.

"Thinking about the proposal?" bhabhi asked.

"Yes bhabhi I don't know what to decide" I said. She sat on my bed.

"Bhabhi do you think he is the right person for me?" I asked.

"Yes I think he is the right person for u and trust me you won't regret this" she said and bhai entered the room.

"They all are nice people" Bhabhi said.

"Sissy think wisely before taking a decision and follow what your heart says" bhai said.

"K bhai" I said.

"When did my princess become this much big that she is going to be get married in few days?" bhai said ruffling my hair.

"Bhai don't touch my hair" I said and they both laughed and went out.

In the evening I went into the lawn where everyone are having tea and snacks and I sat beside papa.

"Papa I trust your decision and u always give best for me. I'm ready for this marriage" I said.

"Are you sure Princess?" Papa asked taking my arms in his.

"Yes papa. I'm ready for this" I said and gave a squeeze to his arms to assure him.

"Yayy! My baby is gonna marry" Mamma said and hugged me.

"Mamma he haven't agreed for the marriage and here you are planning for my wedding" I said.

"He already agreed for the marriage" Mamma said shocking me and brought sweets to everyone.

"Today night they are coming to our house for the engagement" Bhabhi said.

"What it's too early?" I asked.

"Yes because they wanted to do it as soon as possible" she said.

Karthik Pov:

"Karthik come let's have breakfast together" Mom said.

I nodded and followed her to the dining hall. I sat beside Ishaan and started having breakfast.

"So what's your decision?" Mom asked breaking the silence.

"I am ready for this marriage" I said.

"Really"

"Am I Dreaming?"

Bhabhi and bhai asked at the same time and I rolled my eyes at my brother.

"I'm so happy for you" mom said and hugged me.

"You took the right decision" dad said.

"If Arvi is also ok with this proposal then we will conduct your engagement today itself" Mom said shocking me.

"Mom why so hurry" I asked.

"I want to make her as my daughter in law as soon as possible" mom said and I smiled at her eagerness.

We all are chitchatting in the living room dad got call from Vihaan uncle that Arvi said okay for this marriage. Dad informed him that we are coming to their house for the engagement ceremony. Ishaan came and sat on my lap.

"Chacha Arvi aunty will become my chichi right" he asked.

"Yes champ" I said ruffling his hair.

"She is just like me and when she will come here I will play with her" he said.

My family is already whipped by her I thought. Happiness bubbled inside me because she agreed for the marriage but I have to ask whether she agreed for this marriage willingly or not.

We all got ready and started to their house along with Laksh's family.

Arvi Pov:

I have to inform about this to kushi and Priya. So, I dialled a call to them.

"Guys today is my engagement" I said.

"What? Are u joking?" Kushi asked.

"No she isn't joking" Priya said.

"U already knew about it" Kushi asked

"Yes now let her talk" Priya said and kushi said okay.

I explained everything that happened in this two days.

"Wow my bestie is getting married" they both said at the same time.

"Guys stop dreaming and come to my house" I said.

"Okay" they said and I hung the call.

Bhabhi came to my room

"Arvi get ready fast" bhabhi said and handed a dress.

I went to room and took a shower. Got ready in the dress bhabhi gave me.

Kushi came in to my room and hugged me.

"I'm so happy for u" she said and I smiled at her enthusiasm.

We both started talking about random things. Suddenly I heard sound of cars. "They are here" Kushi said.

"I'm nervous kushi" I said.

"Don't be. Everything will be fine" kushi said.

After sometime Priya entered my room along with Mandira aunty (karthik's mom) and suni di.

They all smiled seeing me and I also smiled seeing them. She came and sat beside me and took my hand in her's.

"How are u Arvi?" Aunty asked.

"I'm fine. What about you aunty?" I asked.

"I'm fine and don't call me aunty call me as Ma or mamma like suni calls me" aunty said.

"K aunty... sorry ma" I said.

"Good now I want to talk about something" Ma asked.

"Tell me ma" I asked and ma started telling.

I know everything is happing fastly. You are going to be engaged to a person that u don't know anything about him but soon u will get to know about him and adjust with him. Trust me u won't regret this decision. After saying this ma and suni di went out.

I am feeling happy that I got a good family who treat me as their own. I hope he will also love me like their family members.

"Arvi they are here and ma wants you to come down" bhabhi said and my heart started beating fast and my hands became numb. I never felt like this before. Bhabhi observed this and said

"Don't stress yourself Arvi. Everything is going to be fine" she said and took me to downstairs.

I took blessings from elders. I can feel someone's eyes on me.

Arvi's attire:

"Let's start the function" Papa said.

Mamma and ma brought our engagement rings and gave them to us.

"Arvi put this ring on his finger" Mamma said. I took the ring with my shivering hands and I raised my eyes to see Karthik. He is already seeing me and his intense gaze is killing me.

He is looking handsome as usual and he has a perfect body. He is few inches taller than me.

He offered his hand and I placed ring on his ring finger.

"Now it's your turn" Ma said.

He took my hand and placed the ring on my ring finger. Every started clapping and congratulated us.

"Arvi you want to talk with Karthik" Ma said and before I could answer Mamma said to take him to my room. I nodded and took him to my room. The room filled with silence. I can hear my own heartbeat.

"Hi Arvi" he said.

"Hello" I said.

"Why did you said yes to this marriage and were you pressurized?" he asked shocking me. I didn't expected this question from him.

"No. I said yes to this marriage because I trust my parents decision they will always give the best for us" I said.

"Same question for u now tell me" I asked.

"No I was not pressurized by anyone" he said.

"So we are good" he asked.

"Yep" I said.

"Shall we go now?" I asked.

"Off course" he said. With that we both went downstairs.

Ishaan came towards me. I bent down to his level and picked him in my arms.

"Ishaan I missed you" I said and kissed him on his cheek.

"I missed you too chachi" he said. My eyes widened because he is already calling me as his chachi.

"Aww" my friends said and I blushed. This idiots won't leave a chance to tease me.

Soon they all left and I went to my room. After getting changed into my nightwear and I laid down on the bed. I started thinking about how my life changed in two days and soon I slept due to tiredness.

Karthik pov:

We all reached their house. They all welcomed us inside.

"How are u Karthik" Vihaan uncle asked me.

"I'm fine uncle. What about u uncle?" I asked.

"I'm fine" he said.

Mom, bhabhi and Priya went to her room. My eyes were searching for her.

"Are you searching for someone?" I heard Laksh and Siddharth Bhai's voice.

"No I'm... not searching for anyone" I said.

"I know u are searching for her" Siddharth bhai said.

"Wait for some time Arvi will come" Laksh added.

Oh god! They both are teasing me.

"Both of you misunderstood me" I said to my defense.

"Don't try to act smart. We both know very well about u" Siddharth bhai said.

When we are chitchatting and suddenly my eyes caught her who was coming downstairs.

The moment I saw her my heart started beating fastly. I can't take my eyes off her. She is looking so beautiful. She has a set of big blue eyes with long curly lashes and long straight hair. She was few inches shorter than me. She went towards my parents to take their blessings.

"You are looking beautiful and always be happy" mom said and hugged her.

"God bless you my daughter" Dad said and kissed her forehead.

Mom and Aunty brought our engagement rings and gave them to us.

"Arvi put this ring on his finger" aunty said. She took the ring with her shivering hands.

When she met my eyes the world around us is stopped but she averted her eyes. I offered my hand and she placed the ring on my ring finger.

"Arvi you want to talk with Karthik" Mom said as if she read my thoughts and her mother said to take me to her room.

She nodded and took me to her room. All the walls in her room are painted in grey colour and all the walls were covered with her pictures from childhood. Most of the pictures were with his father, so she is dad's princess. The room filled with silence. I know she is nervous so I started the conversation.

"Hi Arvi" I said.

"Hello" she said.

I asked her the she agreed willing for this marriage or not with my fingers crossed. She said that she trust her parents decision and asked me the same question. Later we went downstairs.

When we went down Ishaan came and hugged her. When Ishaan called her as chachi her friends said Aww and she blushed into a very beautiful shade of red and I was mesmerized by her.

Within next hour the ceremony is over and we went back to our house. I am engaged to be married with these thoughts I slept.
