Harmonious Reunions

Beyond devastation is the point of invincibility.

I had spent a week trying to adjust to my new reality. I may never know what triggered me today to leave misery and my blanket on my bed but I guess it had something to do with the message I received early this morning.

Bathed and scrubbed, I picked up my phone again to check if it wasn't one of my illusions playing me. But no. Still there!

"I found the bloke's frequented spot and temporary residence. Meet me in my office or I don't spit on the floor you walk."

I don't even feel offended by my mother's crude threat. People assume I learned to swear from the neighbors but if only they knew the one-of-a-kind mother I have under my belt. I sigh with a barely contained smile, she was well past redemption. So no shade there.
