Chapter 7: Demi's Getting Back Plan

Demi wasn’t able to quickly recover from what Cassy did to her.

The other students are all laughing and whispering to each other and glancing at her.

She gritted her teeth and clenched the fist where she’s holding the money that Cassy puts in her hand.

“You’ll have your day,” she said as she followed Cassy with her eyes. 

“God! Demi! What the f--ck just happened?” Lylia said sarcastically at her and laughed.

“Lylia, stop it.” A sweet voice from Olivia.

Lylia ignored Olivia and continued mocking Demi, “Seriously? You just let Cassy do that to you?” she added and shook her head.

Demi seeing how her friends react just adds up to the fire she has with Cassy.

She rolled her eyes and looked at Lylia and Olivia.

She didn’t answer. God. Lylia is right. How could I let her do that to me? No one. No one ever did that to her. All succumb to her. 

“Oh, Cat got your tongue?” Lylia again in her teasing voice and her eyes are smiling. She’s trying to provoke her. “It seems you can’t do anything when it comes to Cassy. I guessed, she really has the aura and Dash saw that to her before that’s why they have been together even just a few months,” she added.

“ Lyli---” Olivia is still trying to stop Lylia. She knows that she’s adding up to the fire.

“Well, who knows, maybe Cassy’s the one who dumped Dash and not the other way around. People just make stories when they say Dash broke up with Cassy but seriously, Cassy has the record of being the longest girlfriend of Dash.”

Demi felt as if her face and ears turned red. Lylia knows how to get her mad to the highest level.

“Shut up! Just shut up, okay?!” she said and turned her back. I’ll get back to you Cassy, just wait.

Lylia’s eyes shine as she knows that Demi is so angry with Cassy.

“Look what have you done!” Olivia said to Lylia.

“God, Olivia. What have I done?!” Lylia shouted, irritated with her. She turned her back and Olivia was left standing alone.

On the other hand, Demi decided to go home and not attend her last class.

She isn’t in the mood and might as well just cut class. Lylia and Olivia are just annoying. 

She arrived home and went straight to her bed. Her parents are nowhere to be found.

Yes, this is how she lives her daily life. She’s alone with her nannies. 

She let out a sigh. How many sighs did she already have for today?

Life seems to be exhausting as it ought to be. She feels so tired even after sleeping enough every day.

And Cassy, this girl is really just getting to her nerves. She took Dash away from her and now Dash broke up with her, she still had the audacity to join his club.

She rolled her eyes and got up. She sat down in front of her mirror.

“Really, Cassy? You got the courage to shame me in front of everyone.” Demi said to herself while looking at the mirror. “Who do you think you are?” She continues talking to herself and sharply looking at her reflection. In her mind, she sees Cassy laughing and enjoying how she shamed her earlier.

She tries to fight back the tears in her eyes. No, she won’t cry. 

 “ Why do you always get into my way? Bi--tch!” She grabbed the flower vase on the top of the table and threw it. It was broken into pieces. This is how she likes Cassy to be. She likes her to be shattered into pieces and never be whole again.

She heard several knocks on the door. She just ignored it. 

A couple of knocks again were heard from outside.

“Ms. Demi.” A voice started to call her. 

No word from her. She just stared at the broken vase.

“Ms. Demi.”

She calmed herself down before opening the door. No one should see her in that state, in tears as if she has been defeated.

She gets herself ready with her one eyebrow raised.

She stood up and went to the door. 

It’s Nanny Lisa.

“What is it?” she said in a toneless voice.

“Hi, Ms. Demi. Your dinner is ready.” The old woman said to her with a smile despite her facial expression. She seems used to her attitude. Well, why not? Nanny Lisa is the one who has taken care of her since the day she came into this world.

She looked at her wristwatch. It’s seven in the evening. 

“Alright, I will go downstairs shortly.” She simply answered the old woman and turned her back.

She closed the door again and went to the bathroom to wash herself up.

Her mom and dad should be home by now from their business trip. She texted them early this morning and they said they’ll be home. She’ll be able to eat with them. An event that’s so rare to happen in their house.

She went downstairs after changing her clothes.

Well, she’s a bit surprised how quiet the dining room is. Usually, she should be hearing her mom and dad discussing their trip even just from a distance.

“Where’s mom and dad?” She asked the maids when she came into the dining room. The table is set. Food is ready but she can only see one plate and a pair of utensils.

The maids standing in the corner look at each other as if waiting to answer her. One is about to answer when Nanny Lisa went in. 

“Ms. Demi, your mom, and dad just called earlier. They said they are unable to go back home today because of some important matters they need to attend to.” The old woman simply answered Demi even though she just arrived as if she already knows what’s playing inside the girl’s mind.

“Alright, what’s new with that anyway?” Demi answered obviously not happy.

Well, this is her life. She eats alone most of the time and is surrounded by her nannies. Her parents? She doesn’t even know if they both know her favorites or even remember they have a daughter waiting for them.

Ever since she has been born, her parents are always out of town, if not, out of the country because of business trips. Oh, well! Yes! Some may consider her very lucky to be the only child of one of the richest couples in their town but that’s no good at all for her.

She just got used to it but if only she gets the chance, she wants her parents to be with her. If only she can get Dash, then she wouldn’t feel alone anymore. But Dash, just like her parents, doesn't pay any attention to her. She exists but she’s just there unnoticed.

She always gets a “Yes” on whatever she wants and never has been questioned about anything by her parents. This is the main reason why she’s so angry at Cassy. Who is Cassy? Why was she able to get Dash’s attention even just for a matter of months?

The girl simply gets on her way when she shouldn’t be. She hates the way people look at her and how Lylia shove to her face that she cannot do anything about her. Who does she think she is?

“Ms. Demi, do you need anything else?” the old woman’s voice made her come back to her senses. God, Cassy, she affects her now more than Dash does to her. But not with happiness but with so much anger.

“None, for now, Nanny. This should be good.” She said without thanking the old woman. She started to eat and finished it quickly then went back to her bedroom.

“So,” she said and closed her eyes as try to think what she’s going to do with Cassy. She stood up again, she might fall asleep and won’t be able to plan her steps for Cassy.

She grabs her laptop and opens her email. Then she scrolls down and saw an email from Overwrite:

Invitation: Meeting w/ Overwrite | ELECTION OF CLUB’s OFFICERS

Oh.

She hates attending the club meetings but since she likes to see Dash and get near him she joined this club.

She is hopeful that when she joins Overwrite Dash can notice her. She has talent for writing. 

She is a part of their school newspaper so it wasn’t difficult to pass the club’s screening. 

She’s torn apart between attending or ignoring the email. She’s about to click No in the invitation when she sees Cassy’s name included in the calendar invitation.

She checked if she confirmed it and she wasn't mistaken she really did confirm and will be attending tomorrow’s meeting.

“Well, I guess, I need to be there. Surely, that girl will attend this meeting so I shouldn’t be missing this. Let’s see what will happen tomorrow.” She smirked and devised a plan in her head.
