Demi headed inside and made the twins Mac and cheese. Their mom stayed outside waiting for Michelle and their father to come home. The two had been gone all day. The sky turned an inky black before the pair finally came home. Michelle ran inside while their dad took his time.

Michelle pushed past Demi to get to her room. Demi had helped the twins in their bath and gotten them ready for bed. Whatever happened she could tell Michelle was in a bad mood. Just as she was about to head up to the attic when she heard them. It was hushed but she could tell they were fighting again. She only sighed and hoped the first day of school would come soon enough. Thoughts of two meals and semi freedom begin to fill her head. Demi ignored them for her own sanity.
