Ch10. Jealousy
☆☆Mia POV☆☆
The second I saw Ben behind me, I instantly froze. “What is he doing here? Why did he come to us? He usually ignores us completely as if we are air” I thought to myself as I stared at his smile that he was flashing at me.
I stared at him in disbelief, he looked at Kevin and his smile turned into a smirk while Kevin gritted his teeth and glared at him even more fiercely.
Kevin’s grip tightened on my hand, squeezing my fingers more. I pulled my hand free and spoke first, breaking the awkward silence: “hey Ben, what are you doing here?”
He grabbed a chair from the table behind him and sat down with us before looking at Kevin challengingly and then turned his head to me and smiled widely saying: “I was passing by and saw you two; I thought to check up on you”
I felt my cheeks heat up as I remembered our earlier hug: “I am okay. Thank you”

☆☆Kevin POV☆☆ I left Mia’s house in denial, I didn’t want to believe that we actually fought together for the first time since we became friends. I walked around aimlessly thinking about our last conversation. Her words shattered me completely, it hurt so bad that I couldn’t breathe right. It feels like I got stabbed right into my heart and its bleeding sorrow. The worst part was that she didn’t know anything nor she believed me. Finally I dragged myself back home. I didn’t want to talk to anyone, so I just headed upstairs. As soon as I entered my room, I dropped myself on the bed and stared at the ceiling. Sadness poured inside my soul.

☆☆Kevin POV☆☆ My dreams were filled with this memory repeating over and over all night. I woke up only when my alarm sounded at 6 in the morning. I got up gloomy and depressed. ☆☆Mia POV☆☆“Mia,” the teacher shouted out loud and all heads turned to me as she headed towards me.She hovered over my head and looked at my exam paper and then at me. ☆☆Mia POV☆☆I dropped my body on the nearest chair outside the operating room waiting for any doctor or a nurse to come out and tell us what was going on, but no one came.Kevin’s parents sat down on the bench opposite to me. Kevin’s mom was sobbing soundly, while his father sat next to her hugging her shoulders and consoling her, and trying as much as possible to stay strong himself.I looked at the clock on the wall and I felt the tic-toc was beating in my chest.
