Aria watched as her grandmother whom she has liked no lesser than her father, stood there quarreling her father. She hated it, the noise they were making. She could never get used to it. For as far as she can remember, Her father and his mother don’t get along. She rolled her eyes and left the foyer, but soon returned with a bag in hand. “I’ll go with her,” Aria said as she nudged for Theresa to come help her with her bag. “Esa,” she muttered. Theresa smiled and walked towards Aria. She helped the bag out of her hand and they both walked out of the house. Mrs. Hart eyed Fabian disapprovingly, shook her head and walked away. Meanwhile, Fabian clutched his hands allowing them to hug his sides. He gritted his teeth as there was nothing else he could do. It was Aria herself who has chosen to go with his mother. He did not want his mother to take her. He was tired of her controlling attitude. “You always let your mother win,”. Katherine said while walking down the stairs. She
Fabian shook his head as if in regret. Then he snatched his bag from Katherine’s hold and walked towards the door. But Katherine hurried her feet towards the door and stood in front of him. “Wake up Fabian! Someone is trying to raise a feud between us so that they can get what they want. Maybe not Aria as I had suspected, but it could be just anyone”. Katherine said while looking at Fabian pleadingly. Her eyes were moist and ready to let down the tears. If she was not a good actress, then she would not have made it this far with Fabian. “And who would want to do that?” Fabian asked with one eyebrow raised. “I don’t know! Aren’t supposed to work together in understanding for us to be able to find that out?” Katherine said suggestively. Fabian nods his head in agreement. He dropped his bag and then walked down to the bed. He laid there as he watched the ceiling. Katherine approached her husband, she lied right next to him, then she placed the palm of her hand on his chest. She
“It’s good to have you around Aria. I must say I have come to miss you a lot after the last misunderstanding we had. I never expected you would talk to me back at your place,” Theresa said. She was standing by the door of Aria’s room. Although she had helped Aria carry her bag to the car before they left the mansion to the family house, she and Aria were yet to speak to each other. The only time Aria spoke with her was when she asked her to help carry her bag. “Get out! I do not wish to be disturbed right now,” Aria said. She did not even bother to look Theresa’s way. “Come on Aria! Why are you holding grudges against me just because I told you that you were keeping low lives as friends and that your boyfriend Eran was way too below your class,” Theresa questioned. She did not look like she was ready to leave Aria alone. Aria stood up from the bed on which she was lying. She walked towards the door and pushed Theresa out. Then she shut it. She went back to the bed but not without
Kelvin knew that it was either he was in danger, or it was just some persons trying to get a record of his activities, either way, he hates being trailed. He parked his car in the underground parking lot. He remained inside for a while contemplating what next to do. Should he step out of his car and get attacked, or should he be the first to attack? Just then, he head a tap on his window. He looked up to see a man dressed in black. It seems his trailer has decided to come meet him in person. Kelvin made a sign of the cross with his hand before opening the door. He stepped out to meet the stranger. “What’s….” before he could complete his sentence, he got knocked out. The man who knocked down Kelvin got into Kelvin’s car that was still opened, while another man appeared from around the corner and stood beside him. “What are you doing?” the man who just showed up asked. “Searching for anything that can be of use,” he replied. “The boss only instructed us to bring him for interrogati
“Good morning Mrs. Jasmine!” A woman wearing an apron and carrying a tray greeted. Her greetings were addressed to the fair lady who laid on her bed with her palm on her head. “Please drop it there and leave! I would not want to be disturbed this morning?” The lady said to the woman who dropped the tray. She was one of the many maids in the mansion. “You did not have to be rude to the maid. Ruth has been working in this mansion even before you came in as my wife”. A man’s voice could be heard in the room. But he was completely out of the woman’s sight. “Good for you! Same reason your family thinks I should not be your wife because your girlfriend was there before me and she could have probably bore an heir”. Jasmine said. The man walked out of his dressing room. He looked ready for work. He stood by the bed. He pulled up Jasmine and asked her to take her medication. But she refused. She told him he was pathetic. “By going against my family in keeping you? Or by trying to make you
Aria’s food was brought to Aria’s room. Jasmine despite knowing Aria could feed herself refused Aria from doing that. She fed Aria. Then dressed the little girl up. She told Aria not to dirty her dress nor get it rumbled. She left Aria’s room after giving the little girl that instruction. “Mommy! Are we going to see Kelvin?” Little Aria had asked her mother before she completely went out of sight. The only time they left the house was when they are going to see her mother’s best friend who has a son, “Kelvin”. Aria takes it that they were going to Kelvin’s place. “No questions now Aria!” Jasmine had said before finally disappearing from Aria’s room. Jasmine went to her shared room with Fabian, her husband. Instead of taking her bath, Jasmine just took of her sleeping garment. She dressed herself in a pair of jeans and a black top. Then left the room with a bag hanging over her shoulder. Jasmine went back to get her daughter Aria. She carried the four year old and left with her.
Diana told Jasmine she could only make her sandwich at the moment. Jasmine didn’t mind. All she cared for was getting something into her stomach. So Diana did make her sandwich which she ate. And then the two of them sat down to discuss Jasmine’s life. Diana asked Jasmine to file for a divorce since Fabian has gone ahead to impregnate his mistress while still not treating her well. “If that was possible, I would have done that a long time ago. I’m literally Fabian’s property. I don’t think I can leave”. Jasmine interrupted when Diana said she knows a divorce lawyer. “But you clearly said you want to leave him, didn’t you?” Diana sounded shocked. Jasmine sighed heavily. She told Diana she was only saying things she could not do. “So what if he helped your family get out of debt? Is five years of slavery not enough for him? Do you have to stay there for a lifetime? Hasn’t he taken over your family’s business for compensation?” Diana said. She was angry. Diana told Jasmine that Fab
Jasmine, knowing fully well what awaits her within those walls walked with her head held high. She had her daughter in her arms as she walked into the mansion. Fabian was there, standing with his back to the door that welcomes you to the interior. Madam Clautra rushed to take Aria from Jasmine. It was as though the woman already knew what would happen. She left with Aria in her arms leaving Jasmine and Fabian alone in the foyer. “You are back home early”. Jasmine said coolly despite the intense atmosphere. “Where the hell are you coming from?” Fabian asked Jasmine not replying to what she had initially said. “An apartment that’s like a pen compared to your mansion; there was love where I went”. Jasmine said calmly. Fabian scowled at her. Then with a deep darken voice, he ordered her to follow him. She scoffed, but she followed him as he led her to his study. Jasmine wondered why he was leading her to a place where he forbids her from going. He would never want her there. But sh
