"You will not threaten my pack." Roscoe commanded
"I will if my safety is on line. No matter what my wolf says, you will also be on that list. No one, not even my mate matters when my own safety is what is of concern." I said steelyI could hear my wolf whimper within me but at the same time she agreed. Mate or not, our safety came first. I felt that she wished for control, so I handed it to her, stepping back into the abyss and watching everything unfold."I am her wolf; my name is Celeste." My wolf said"I didn't realise, you took over. You have the same eyes?" Roscoe appeared confused"I wished for control; she handed it to me. As for the eyes, they are a discussion for another time." Celeste shrugged"Neither you nor Catalina seem to want to quench even a quarter of my curiosity." Roscoe complained"We don't trust you enough to lay our hearts bare to you." Celeste answered calmly"I am your mate! Why shall I have to earn your trust?" Roscoe raised his voice"Are you truly our mate? You certainly don't act like one." Celeste commented casually"What do you mean?" Roscoe frowned"I have never come across a pair of mates where one mate wished to be so controlling of the other unless it was consented. I have most certainly never come across an Alpha that would dare to use an alpha command on his Luna so that she would do his bidding. Above all, I have never met an Alpha that thought drugging their Luna with sedatives was alright when she was mad at him." Celeste said"I..." Roscoe was at a loss of words"Catalina has healed almost completely since, like three days now. Yet, she waited until today to ask you to talk with you about letting her out of this room and house of yours that she has practically mapped and imprinted in her brain to the point that she can go to any room or find anything here with her eyes closed. Her request to be let out is reasonable, one cannot stay cooped up in a place. Instead of offering an acceptable compromise you used alpha command on her to get her to agree with you. Catalina has gone through enough abuse to last her a couple lifetimes, should you ever come even remotely close to controlling her without her will or abusing her, I will not hesitate to retaliate in blood to protect her. Mate or not, Catalina stands above all for me." Celeste finally ended her mini speech, maybe I should take a slight nap here, she can handle Roscoe."Shouldn't I as your mate stand above all for you?" My interest peeked the moment his wolf appeared"How will you mate me if my human ceases to exist? She has dealt with it enough. She has been defiled and tainted enough. She has been abused enough. No one should have had to go through what my lovely human did when she was but a mere babe of six summers. I will never allow another to treat her anything like that again. Shall you ever do something she doesn't consent to then I shall leave before the sun rises." Celeste barked at him"I apologise for my human. I will make sure he knows his place. It was not right for him to abuse his power to have our lovely mate to do what he desires." His wolf apologised"We shall see if you prove worthy of my human or not. For now, my human wishes to go out and roam around the pack land, maybe through the edges of the forests." Celeste said"Not near the denser edges and she should at least have one guard follow her in case. We have not yet established a mind link amongst each other, it would put me at ease if she took a guard. He could inform me if you require anything or if something happens to you or if anything poses a danger to you." His wolf negotiated"Beta Alaric is lovely company. I shall take him but no other." Celeste noddedThose were reasonable conditions; I could agree to them. I like the wolf better than the human. Celeste gave me back control. I saw that Roscoe's eyes were still yellowish, his wolf hasn't left yet?"Not planning to give your human the control." I said tilting my head a little"Unless you want to deal with that irritable human, I suggest you get going. I have mind-linked Alaric, you'll find him waiting at the entrance of the house or in the kitchen." The wolf said"You never gave me your name." I smiled"Avalon." His wolf replied"You are..." I trailed off looking him up and down"I am a male wolf; my name is just unique. Now, I believe that you should get going. My human is fighting me to not let you." Avalon said ushering me out"Bye, bye." I said waving at him then skipping down to meet AlaricI met up with Alaric who was waiting for me just as Avalon said. He wore jeans and a black T-shirt. He tensed for a moment when he saw me before relaxing and greeting me with a goofy smile."Hello Luna." He bowed his head"Hi, let's get going before Roscoe comes." I said ushering him away"Didn't he permit you to leave?" Alaric said tilting his head confusedly"Avalon did." I answered"Then, we must hurry." Alaric noddedWe got in his sedan and were on our way. Halfway through wherever we were going, Alaric grimaced."Roscoe?" I asked"He is not happy. Wants to demand you to be back but his wolf is not happy with him so, the mind link is very confusing with a human and a wolf saying two different things at once." Alaric explained"He is just being temperamental and annoying. I am not going to let him keep me caged in that golden prison he is trying to build for me." I scoffed"You ran from him. He is just scared that you might run away again." Alaric told me"And you think I'm not? You think that I can't hear the whispers of the pack? Every day, I hear whispers that talk about how his mum doesn't want me for his mate and would much rather he mate with another female whether he rejects me or not. I'm not letting that stop me, I'm trying to give him a chance, I'm trying for the sake of my wolf to learn to love my mate, is it too much to expect the same effort from him? Yes, I ran! I know that; I have been abused since I was six. Mentally, physically, emotionally and worse of all sexually. I have lost count of how many times I was raped and then beaten and raped again without so much as a grain of food. Starved, beaten, bruised, verbally attacked and raped, every single fucking day of my life until I escaped but it was on the day I was very badly beaten, my wounds had opened. A miracle that I survived. Soon after, everything was on repeat when the hunters captured and tortured me. I was not strong enough yet to fight back. Imagine having to go through the same horrors you ran from once again. After meeting my mate, please tell that after going through so much you won't believe that even your mate was capable of doing the same if not worse with you. You have no idea the horrors I've had to go through in order to reach when I have. If your Alpha doesn't clean up his act then I am sorry but you won't have a Luna and he won't have a mate anymore." I ranted my voice raising was I went onI huffed, trying to catch my breath. Damn, that was a long monologue. Took my entire breath. I painted trying to regulate my breathing, calm my anger. I didn't wish for a part of me to take over and attack my mate's beta."I'm sorry, I shouldn't have spoken without realising the gravity of everything. It is only fair on you to be able to set the pace and decide what you wish to do as you two are trying to give this mate bond a chance. Space is just as important as closeness. I'm sorry I was so churlish and insensitive." Alaric apologised looking ashamed"Whatever, I don't need pity. Forgive me for not trusting the ones that say they love me for those who have always hurt me save for my two brothers and sister. My trust is not that easily earned." I said looking out the window as the houses and trees passed byRoscoe's POV:"What were you fighting against that you had to form a temporary alliance to defeat it?" It's truly strange and very concerning that to battle off something, three species of dark creatures that have only ever truly despised each other had to form a temporary alliance. What was so powerful that just one of them wasn't enough to defeat it? What had caused such great panic that all the rulers had to leave their kingdom in care of a child and rush to the battlefields themselves? I'm in no way insulting the capabilities of my mate but it's truly frightening to even think of that there was something that required a vampire, witch and lycan to band together to vanquish it. "Something that could only be described as the embodiment of true darkness and evil. At first we just thought that we were battling hunters with enhanced weapons, it wasn't until much later that the true threat revealed itself." Jovinne said wearily"The creatures we fought had no known origin, they we
Roscoe's POV: I don't know whether to laugh or feel sympathetic. Catalina was struggling immensely to keep her cool, it was sort of funny but as her mate, it also distressed my wolf, ultimately making me distressed as well. All things aside though, Catalina was completely in her element as she took over the Werewolf kingdom. She was currently going over the coronation ceremony details along with her advisors. This was only the start though, there was definitely so much left but she still refused to let me help with anything. I am not sure if I should pester her until she agrees or not. "Why are you standing here and brooding all by yourself?" A voice popped me out of my thoughts "Alex, why must you startle me?" I sighed "Because it's fun. You still always get startled like I'm about to attack you." Alex sniggered "Are you two fighting like little kids again?" Jovinne's voice floated in like a melodious harmony "We are not." Alex and I said at the same time "You two sho
Catalina's POV: Armaros' eyes were all anyone could truly focus on. No one wished to believe that their king was slowly turning rabid but there's still hope right? After all they haven't turned blood red completely. It's really laughable how these dumb wolves around me kept wanting to hold onto little hope that was slowly diminishing. Armaros' eyes were slowly but surely turning more and more red with each passing second. The longer we fight, the redder they'll become. His wolf crouched down, growling lowly as a warning to yield, to surrender, an invitation to spare my life.So stupid, so very stupid indeed. I took a defensive stance, letting the wolf know that I didn't plan on backing down just yet. We started circling each other, slowly trying to bait one another. Trying to see who will attack first. I kept my eyes trained on the mutt's eyes, enjoying every streak of the lovely colour that graced his black abyss. I waited knowing he would surely break soon; he was impatient
Catalina's POV: The fear in everyone's eyes was a true delight for me. Roscoe stood beside me with his hand on my waist, the rest of my troop joined me. "What was that?" Roscoe asked looking alarmed"That I believe was her crown." Blake snickered "What did you do bitch?" One of the guards yelled"I didn't do anything... How am I responsible for your king being as weak as a baby?" I answered suppressing my laugh Armaros still lay in the corner with the steel armor on top of him, barely holding onto his consciousness as his eyes rolled back. I scoffed, weakling! If this is the king of all werewolves then their end is nearing rather soon. Jovinne discreetly pushed a little magic in him, aiding him in regaining his consciousness. "Witchcraft!" Armaros accused the moment he woke upHe stood there with his eyes wide open and his finger pointed towards as he looked towards me with an incredulous expression about his face, ultimately making me wonder why any of our magic was
Catalina's POV: Finally, the night had truly begun. I could see the Werewolf King observing every move of my group and I but we decided to not give two fucks about it. I was bored just standing around with a glass of champagne and looking pretty since I can't drink it cause of the wolfsbane it contained. While wolfsbane won't do anything to me now that I am at my complete strength. Still, with everything that had happened recently, it scared me... a lot. My lycan and witch were finally responsive again. When I was held by the hunters, my witch had drained herself trying to keep me alive, while my lycan had tried to protect me but too long in captivity had affected him and made him turn back into the black abyss, becoming unresponsive. But I still had my vampire, I should have still been able to escape but when I was captured, I had lost too much of my blood, and my vampire needed another vampire or werewolf's blood to be able to protect me and help me escape. Since I wasn't able to
Catalina's POV: Roscoe has been working too hard recently. While I was scared about what it meant to have those rogues sneak in the pack for, he was paranoidly terrified. I didn't know how to reassure him that this was something normal for me in all honesty. A whole lot of wolves, hunters and such always tried to kidnap me or something or the other in hopes that they could find out how I was the only hybrid in existence. I was more scared for Roscoe than I was of what was to come. I'm so confused right now to be honest, what did these rogues really want from me? Alex walked in holding an envelope in his hands, breaking my train of thoughts. I still didn't turn my head towards him, still sitting comfortably in the window seat of the library in Roscoe's pack house. It was the most peaceful place to be in his pack. "I suppose you already know what this is then?" Alex asked rhetorically "It comes from the Werewolf King, I believe." I signed "It's an invitatio
