Chapter 34

Jenna's POV

He excused this matter and said he could leave. Chris bowed in respect and turned. Before he stepped out, he warned me on the link again, 'I was humiliated because of you today, Jenna. I won't let this slide. You will pay for this.'

'Let's see who will pay first, Chris. I'm not going anywhere, neither are you.' Fury bristled in his eyes.

"Alpha Chris, don't leave already." Jace announced just as Shane returned.

"Your Highness, I would like to close the matter as is. There's nothing to investigate. Even Henry's daughter claims the same thing... Her father confessed to molesting her stepdaughter before he was killed. Kalen is innocent. I'm gonna let him go." Shane stated.

"Right decision on your part, Alpha Shane. I appreciate it. Kalen did what any other father would do. You and I would have done the same if it happened to our daughters."

"Right. But there's something I want to demand from Alpha Chris," Shane looked at him as his gaze turned salty. "The bastård's body won't go with you, nor will he have a traditional cremation."

Chris gulped.

"I will hang his corpse in the town square as a reminder and lesson for everyone. They must know what happens to a pervert for trying to touch our girls."

"I support your decision, Alpha Shane. I hope Alpha Chris won't have any objection. Seeing how his pack is being rebuked and he himself is at the center of humiliation, he should help you do it." Jace smirked. He was enjoying Chris' humiliation.

As we expected, Chris was forced to agree to it as well. Kalen was also going to get compensation from both packs for the trauma his family suffered. Then came the most interesting part— the invitation.

Jace spoke to both the Alphas, "Although I will send out an official invitation to you, gentlemen, I would like to invite you personally to come and grace my son's six month anniversary celebration. It's going to be a grand party and I will introduce my Queen and son to my ally packs."

"It'll be an honor to attend our future Alpha King's celebration party, Your Majesty. I will definitely come." Alpha Shane was enthusiastic.

Chris, on the other hand, sounded dull and dim. We ignore him anyways and we're pleased to hear the way Shane was praising our son.

"I heard he's your carbon copy, Alpha King. Does he crawl yet?"

"You can't even imagine the kind of mischief he pulls at only six months old, Alpha Shane. My son is a little devil. My wife..." Jace fleetingly looked at me before anyone noticed. "She has a hard time taking care of him. But she does it so well, I am forced to fall for her deeper every day."

"That sounds amazing, doesn't that? To have a family." Shane blinked dreamily.

Jace gave me a smile, "It does. It's a blessing to have a loving wife. Men who don't respect their wives are a disgrace."

Shane and I looked away as we knew where that taunt was directed. Chris was pink in the face. He was furious but he didn't dare express it. After all, the Alpha King was insulting him.

Later, we all came out as a team arrived to carry out Henry's body to the town's square to hang it on a pole. Another team was cleaning and disinfecting the floor.

When it was done, Alpha Shane excused himself to go as he had a lot of things to do with regards to the agricultural treaty he just signed with so many packs.

"I hope to see you at the party, Alpha Shane." Jace shook hands with him before their departure.

"I'll be there a few days before the party. I'm that excited, your Highness." Both the men laughed.

Then Jace turned to Chris who hasn't uttered a word till now, "Alpha Chris, you are specially invited. I've got a surprise for you."

Chris' face lost the paleness a little. His lips upturned at the thought of a surprise as he nodded vigorously, "I'll definitely come, your Highness."

"Good."

Then we all parted for our cars. Well, of course, Chris gave me one last lethal look and growled, 'This is not over, Jenna. I will come for you.'

When Jace and I were in his car, I slapped him on the chest playfully.

"That was really very desperate of you. Surprise, huh? You might as well should've him that I'm your wife."

"I wanted to do that. But the big reveal happens in the party." He pulled me in his lap.

Our gazes fell on each other's mouths. My thighs thrummed in response, a sign that I was so eagerly waiting to be alone with him again.

As Jace's fingers crawled under my shirt, I grabbed his hair and tilted his face. I kissed him hard as he pulled the cover on the screen behind me to give us privacy from the driver.

We both were lost in each other, although our minds imagined what was coming up next— Chris' biggest downfall.

I couldn't wait to witness it.

Jace's POV

When we arrived at our house, we were grinning happily. We were discussing how we were going to make Chris eat dirt in Jared's six month celebration party. I was looking at my wife when we took the steps up and entered the grand doors of our castle.

My smile faded as I watched Jenna's lips purse and her eyes change colors.

"You bìtch!" She growled and flew out of my arms.

I looked straight only to watch her throw Liza away from our son, who was trying to crawl on the floor.

"Aah!" Liza winced as her head hit the arm of the couch.

"I warned you before, didn't I? Don't go near my son. If I ever see you around him again, I will rip your skull open." I gritted my teeth to suppress myself from intervening.

However, my heart ached for Liza. She was in tears and her face red. She was embarrassed about what happened.

"I... I was just playing with him, L-luna. Aunt Isabella left him here to get something for him, s-so I thought I'll look over him."

"She didn't ask you, did she?" Jenna seethed. "Since no one asked you, you should better not do it. Jared has his own nannies. They can take care of him. Get lost. I don't want you anywhere around my son."

I helplessly stood there as Liza walked away, wiping her face. I stared at her broken form disappearing.

"That was a bit harsh, don't you think?" My eyes cast down on my wife. She was holding Jared against her chest, breathing heavily.

"You trust her, I don't." She spat and I sighed.

Chapter 58 Jace's POV We were silent for a long time. Neither of us spoke. Suddenly Jenna lifted her face and eyes me innocently."What?" I chuckled. She nodded in no, "You burned Liza alive."My face stilled. I pulled her closer and joined our foreheads, "I had to. She was the bane of our family."I kissed her."Also," I added. "She made me doubt my wife's intentions. I had to punish her."At that, she hugged me tighter and rested her face on my shoulder. She was sitting straddling my waist while I held her like my toddler baby.My back had healed. Hence, I was able to sit this way.The doctors had been worried because the wound wasn't healing in my state of unconsciousness. That's the reason why they refused to give any answer. But the second I woke up, the wound healed, and all the residue of wolfsbane and silver was eliminated by my immune system."What happened to Chris and that lady?" I suddenly asked as I remembered those two."Both dead. And that lady was Doctor Henry's daug

Chapter 57Jenna's POV 'Thanks, bro. Head towards the Rogues' territory with your team. I'll meet you there.''Roger that!''Okay.'We broke the link. I sucked a sharp breath as I focused on the road ahead. If I drive at high speed, I'll get there in twenty minutes.Jenna, hold on for a while, love. Your husband is coming to get you.(Twenty minutes later)"Jace, finally you're here." Oakley came running towards my car as I applied brakes."Did you find her location?" I was not even fully out of the car."Yes, and already stationed our soldiers around the area." Oakley said, sending a wave of relief through me."Thank, goddess.""Don't worry, Jace. The situation is already in our control." Oakley flashed a shark grin and my eyebrows cocked in confusion. "Chris's soldiers look novice. They are not attentive at all, let alone alert.""I think he brought untrained wolves here. And I must add that his Beta and Gamma are not here either."I acknowledged with a nod, "He's probably doing it

Chapter 56Jenna's POV Jace has never touched her before. He hadn't done it this time either. It's that bìtch who always found ways to go near him.'There's no point in giving yourself false hope, Jenna. Jace isn't the man we thought he was. Accept it.' Gianna said.A feeling of disappointment rose over me. No! My wolf is not right here. She's hurt from Jace's wolf's words, and rest is the impact of wolfsbane.Jace loves us.'You really think that? Then tell me, why didn't he come after us when we left?'he He might have a reason.'No,' Gianna grunted weakly. 'It's because he was bewitched by his mistress's beauty and he chose her instead.'That's not true. I was breathless in anger. Gianna's words struck a chord that it shouldn't have.'I'll prove it to you that Jace still only loves us.'Having that said, I lowered my guard. I had blocked out everyone and their feelings to avoid getting caught. However, as I lowered my guard, I could feel my family's emotions— Jace's first. He was

Chapter 55Jenna's POVI regained my senses at the feeling of stabbing spasms stretching throughout my body. My eyelids were heavy and so I couldn't drag them open. But my other senses were working well.I could hear and smell and feel my surroundings. The air was crackling with the chirping of thousands of crickets, meaning that I was most likely in a forest area; or where there were a lot of trees.I dragged in a deep breath to catch scents, and realized that wood was burning somewhere. Then I heard the noise of fire crackling. A bonfire. I subtly rubbed my hand on the ground and sensed the coarse texture. Soil. All the elements directed to one point, I was in a forest. My eyes felt better now. I was about to open them when, "Hadn't she woken up yet?" A familiar voice asked."No, Alpha Chris. After she turned into her human form while fainting, she's been just like that." Someone said,It wasn't Cleo's voice. Hmm. Perhaps Chris flew all the way to Silent Hills city with a small team

Chapter 54Jace's POV "Let this be a lesson to all those who think they can fool the Alpha King just because I trust them." I announced as I paced around with a flaming torch in my hand. Behind me a pyre was built in the middle of the city for people to watch. On it Liza was tied to a pole. She was drenched with petrol and shaking. Her eyes were red. She begged me to let her go, that she was honestly apologetic. That she acknowledged her blunder and would go away. "My trust has never been a weakness. My willingness to believe in those who stand beside me does not make me blind, nor does my kindness make me a fool. I give people my trust because I choose to see the good in them. Because I consider them my previous ones. But the moment that trust is betrayed, do not mistake my silence for ignorance. And don't ever think that you can outsmart me."I came to a halt. The flames were crackling beside my face. It was night now, the sky was dark with no stars. There were light poles around
