Chapter 37

Jenna's POV

"She only knows what I let her know. Jenna," He looked at me without raising his head from my neck. "There are things a man only desires to do with his wife. Fantasies he only wants to fulfill with his wife. I did them with you."

Shaking my head, I replied, "You don't understand. I've been here before."

"I'm not him, Jenna."

"But you have a mistress living under our roof. That makes it even more difficult."

He closed his eyes in emotions I couldn't catch. When he opened them, I only saw love. Pure and deep rooted love. Only for me.

"Your insecurities are valid, so I won't ask you to trust her. Hell, I won't even ask you to like her."

"Then what do you want me to do?" My eyes glistened with tears again.

"I want you to trust me like a wife should trust her husband." I swallowed as he cupped my face. "I've punished her once for making you look bad. I'll do that again if need be. I'll be the first person to put her in her place- but that is when I see her doing anything against you."

"I'm sorry, love, but so far I have seen her doing nothing since she returned from the A****n. You know what that looks like to all? That you are scared of her even though you have what she can never have." His voice remained calm, but there was steel beneath it. "A warrior reported to me sometime back that others are talking about you, about your insecurities over a mistress who will never have your place. I just want to prevent this from happening, love."

He joined our foreheads, "And if I send her away, they will say you were insecure in spite of having the crown."

I gasped softly. I never realized they have started talking about me.

Jace gently lifted my chin and caressed my jaw, "I'm not your first husband. I won't let another woman decide the fate of our marriage. And I certainly won't stand by while you harass yourself with scenarios that will never come true."

My eyes filled with tears. I wrapped my hands around his waist and buried my face in his chest.

"I... I'm sorry, Jace. I don't know what got into me. I trust you a lot, trust me."

"I know." He pecked my hair as one of his hands stroked my head. "And I don't judge you for anything. You have witnessed something before and it just keeps giving you tremors. But trust me, my queen, I'm just yours. No one else can have me."

I cried harder against his chest. I feel so stupid it too.

I forgot this- Liza might try her best, but Jace loves me. He chose me over her and other compatible women. That makes me far better than her.

"Can you kiss my neck more please? I want to forget everything that happened."

"Gladly, my love." He carried me inside our room and closed the doors.

All night, Jace made assuring love to me.

Yet, deep in my heart, I knew it doesn't change the present. And to confirm I wasn't wrong, I heard Liza's voice over the mind link again.

'Temporary Luna, enjoy him deep inside you while you still can. I'll snatch him back soon... And you won't be able to do anything.'

'Aah! Jace, harder.' I whispered over the link for her to hear.

Liza growled and cursed me before she went off.

I grinned imagining her face. But then I froze too.

I need to find a way to get her out of here without letting Jace get a breath of it.

Because she won't stop at any cost.

Jenna's POV

A week later,

The day is finally here. I was dressed in an impeccable sea-blue gown, matching my eyes. Jared was whining behind me in mom's hands. He wasn't feeling like going to the party.

"What's wrong with you, Jared? You've been whining for half an hour now." Mom furrowed her brows as she changed his position in her arms. She made him sit in her lap while earlier he was resting against her shoulder.

"Maybe he's hungry, mom. Give him to me. He probably wants my milk."

Mom looked at my reflection in the mirror and blinked her eyes, "You look otherworldly beautiful, Jenna. Wait a few minutes. Let the stylist do your hair."

I smiled at her as I focused on my reflection. Jace and I have decided to wear the same color today. He was already out there at the party, receiving our guests while I was still getting ready here.

"It's done, Luna." The hair stylist stepped back and I stared at my reflection for good long seconds.

I couldn't recognize the woman in the mirror. She was an upgraded version of me. I admired the styling that was done to my straight hair. They were left flowing open, just given some bounce and curls at the tips.

Jared's loud cry yanked me out of my trance. I thanked the stylist and took my son from mom. I sat on the reclining chair and pulled Jared to my bréast. He hungrily latched onto my nipple.

'Aww, our pup was hungry.' I pouted as I ran my fingers through his hair.

The sound he made was music to my ears. I got lost in it, so lost that I nearly forgot today's party wasn't any normal celebration. It was a ruined party I had organized to seek revenge on my ex and his cunning wife. Jace had mind-linked me twenty minutes ago to tell me Chris was here.

'After tonight, he will realize he was such a fool to reject you.' Gianna spitefully said as my lips curled into a tight smile.

"You must be very excited for today, Jenna." Mom made me raise my eyes to her.

"I am, mom. The son my ex-husband threw me out with is the heir to the kingdom. He's their future Alpha King. I want to see their faces when they hear it." A feeling of deep settled animosity took over me. "You remember I told you about those Lunas at Night Shade Pack! I still have the change they handed to me."

"It would be worth watching their faces when I throw their change back at them along with a tight slap. I've really waited for this moment for so long."

She walked over to me and caressed my hair gently, trying not to ruin my hair, "Always be happy, my daughter. Life has been very cruel to you. Hopefully after tonight, there will only be love and happiness for you."

Hopefully.

Jace's POV

I was unable to take my eyes off Chris and his fake wife. She was eight months and half along but she still came today. That shows how desperate she is to appear on Chris' arm as his new Luna. The woman he chose over that cheating Luna of his.

Although I flashed pretend-smiles at everyone, my blood heated up with fury whenever my eyes landed on Chris. He was proudly mingling with other Alphas, talking about rogue packs he demolished recently.

His face, though, just slightly turned red whenever someone mentioned Henry, he managed to change the conversation into one of his tales of gallant; and how he supported Alpha Shane to hang his senior doctor at the town's square to show he didn't tolerate pedophilěs or räpists.

Chapter 58 Jace's POV We were silent for a long time. Neither of us spoke. Suddenly Jenna lifted her face and eyes me innocently."What?" I chuckled. She nodded in no, "You burned Liza alive."My face stilled. I pulled her closer and joined our foreheads, "I had to. She was the bane of our family."I kissed her."Also," I added. "She made me doubt my wife's intentions. I had to punish her."At that, she hugged me tighter and rested her face on my shoulder. She was sitting straddling my waist while I held her like my toddler baby.My back had healed. Hence, I was able to sit this way.The doctors had been worried because the wound wasn't healing in my state of unconsciousness. That's the reason why they refused to give any answer. But the second I woke up, the wound healed, and all the residue of wolfsbane and silver was eliminated by my immune system."What happened to Chris and that lady?" I suddenly asked as I remembered those two."Both dead. And that lady was Doctor Henry's daug

Chapter 57Jenna's POV 'Thanks, bro. Head towards the Rogues' territory with your team. I'll meet you there.''Roger that!''Okay.'We broke the link. I sucked a sharp breath as I focused on the road ahead. If I drive at high speed, I'll get there in twenty minutes.Jenna, hold on for a while, love. Your husband is coming to get you.(Twenty minutes later)"Jace, finally you're here." Oakley came running towards my car as I applied brakes."Did you find her location?" I was not even fully out of the car."Yes, and already stationed our soldiers around the area." Oakley said, sending a wave of relief through me."Thank, goddess.""Don't worry, Jace. The situation is already in our control." Oakley flashed a shark grin and my eyebrows cocked in confusion. "Chris's soldiers look novice. They are not attentive at all, let alone alert.""I think he brought untrained wolves here. And I must add that his Beta and Gamma are not here either."I acknowledged with a nod, "He's probably doing it

Chapter 56Jenna's POV Jace has never touched her before. He hadn't done it this time either. It's that bìtch who always found ways to go near him.'There's no point in giving yourself false hope, Jenna. Jace isn't the man we thought he was. Accept it.' Gianna said.A feeling of disappointment rose over me. No! My wolf is not right here. She's hurt from Jace's wolf's words, and rest is the impact of wolfsbane.Jace loves us.'You really think that? Then tell me, why didn't he come after us when we left?'he He might have a reason.'No,' Gianna grunted weakly. 'It's because he was bewitched by his mistress's beauty and he chose her instead.'That's not true. I was breathless in anger. Gianna's words struck a chord that it shouldn't have.'I'll prove it to you that Jace still only loves us.'Having that said, I lowered my guard. I had blocked out everyone and their feelings to avoid getting caught. However, as I lowered my guard, I could feel my family's emotions— Jace's first. He was

Chapter 55Jenna's POVI regained my senses at the feeling of stabbing spasms stretching throughout my body. My eyelids were heavy and so I couldn't drag them open. But my other senses were working well.I could hear and smell and feel my surroundings. The air was crackling with the chirping of thousands of crickets, meaning that I was most likely in a forest area; or where there were a lot of trees.I dragged in a deep breath to catch scents, and realized that wood was burning somewhere. Then I heard the noise of fire crackling. A bonfire. I subtly rubbed my hand on the ground and sensed the coarse texture. Soil. All the elements directed to one point, I was in a forest. My eyes felt better now. I was about to open them when, "Hadn't she woken up yet?" A familiar voice asked."No, Alpha Chris. After she turned into her human form while fainting, she's been just like that." Someone said,It wasn't Cleo's voice. Hmm. Perhaps Chris flew all the way to Silent Hills city with a small team

Chapter 54Jace's POV "Let this be a lesson to all those who think they can fool the Alpha King just because I trust them." I announced as I paced around with a flaming torch in my hand. Behind me a pyre was built in the middle of the city for people to watch. On it Liza was tied to a pole. She was drenched with petrol and shaking. Her eyes were red. She begged me to let her go, that she was honestly apologetic. That she acknowledged her blunder and would go away. "My trust has never been a weakness. My willingness to believe in those who stand beside me does not make me blind, nor does my kindness make me a fool. I give people my trust because I choose to see the good in them. Because I consider them my previous ones. But the moment that trust is betrayed, do not mistake my silence for ignorance. And don't ever think that you can outsmart me."I came to a halt. The flames were crackling beside my face. It was night now, the sky was dark with no stars. There were light poles around
