In the Smith household in Townsville, Madam Louise Smith was in her study, looking through some family albums and reminiscing her past. Looking at the recent photos she took with her family members, she felt a sense of gratitude and joy.
*Knock knock* "Hi, grandma!" A voice sounded from the door of her study. Madam Louise turned towards the door and smiled at the people standing there. "Charles. Derek. It's so nice to see you both. Please, come in." greeted Madam Louise as she stood up and walked towards the door, embracing both her grandsons when she was there. "What brings you both here at this time of the night? Are your wives aware of this visit?" asked Madam Louise. "Of course they are, grandma. It's been some time since we visited you. Amanda had to take care of Davina; but she sends her best wishes." replied Derek. "Esther is in the Phoenix Bunker, going through some research with the Phoenix Mafia. She sends her best wishes too." added Charles. "How's Peter and Lea? I heard Francois Bakery is back in business." Madam Louise asked Derek in excitement. "We were there a few days ago to visit them. Business is booming, to say the least. Thankfully, a few of Pamela's former henchmen asked to work as their staff and they were a great help." replied Derek with pride. "What were you doing, grandma? You looked happy when we saw you at your desk." asked Charles as they walked with Madam Louise to her table. "Oh, I was just looking at some old photos. Here, have a look at your baby selves." replied Madam Louise as she showed Charles and Derek the photos on her desk. "Wow. We were so little back then. How time flies." said Charles as he looked at his own photos. Derek too felt slightly emotional as he looked at photos of his late foster parents Edward and Emma. As he continued to look at his foster parents' photos, Derek came across a photo that caught his attention. "Grandma, since when did Mum and Dad have another child? Was he adopted too?" asked Derek as he passed the photo he was holding to Madam Louise. Madam Louise took a look at the photo Derek passed to her. Initially, she had a puzzled look on her face. "Hmmm... this is peculiar. To my memory, Emma was barren, so they could not have children of their own." As Madam Louise continued to analyze the photo, she suddenly remembered who the toddler in the photo was. "I remember now, Derek; but with that said, things are going to get complicated." said Madam Louise. "How so, grandma?" asked Charles. "If I recall correctly, the baby in the photo is Oliver, Judith's younger brother." Madam Louise began to explain. "Back when I was, well, my past self, I favoured Judith over Oliver because she was obedient, unlike him. Years later, when their parents sadly passed away, I sent Oliver to an orphange far away from Townsville. I have not seen him since; and I don't know how he is doing now." she explained. "Maybe we can find out. Brother Derek, let me scan the photo on my phone." said Charles. He then took a picture of the photo on his phone and contacted Ivy. "We should get some information about Oliver in a few minutes." reported Charles. "That quick, Charles?" asked Derek, surprised at Charles's efficiency. "Ivy has developed some form of prototype A.I. software recently. Apparently, the software can detect a face and determine how that face will age as the years go by." "It can also link to that face's whereabouts. It sounds really complicated and very advanced at the same time." replied Charles. "Holy s**t, if this prototype works, she has to patent it as soon as possible." remarked Derek. "Language, my dear boy." Madam Louise warned Derek, chuckling slightly. Ding! Charles phone chimed as soon as he finished his explanation. "Ok, it looks like Ivy has some info." "Apparently, this Oliver is now residing somewhere at Metro City, going by the name Oliver Reed. He is married into a wealthy family there. His wife's name is Christina Connors." reported Charles. "Is that so? Well, I'm glad that he is doing just fine." said Derek upon hearing Charles's report. "Don't be so sure, brother. There's more." interjected Charles. "According to Ivy's report, Oliver has been unemployed ever since marrying into the Connors family. It seems like he is a live-in son-in-law; and not in the best way." he added. "Oh no... Oliver is being treated like how you were in the past, Derek." said Madam Louise, with a tinge of regret and sadness in her voice. "It's ok, grandma. What's past is past." replied Derek as he held Madam Louise's hand warmly. "No, Derek. This time the past is going to come back to haunt me. It seems that Oliver is going through a tougher life than you had." said Madam Louise. "She's got a point, brother Derek. Imagine being given away to an orphanage and having to suffer like you had; and then the life of suffering continues being married to a wealthy family as a live-in son-in-law." added Charles. "You may be right, Charles. We have to approach this wisely. We all have to show Oliver that there is light at the end of his dark tunnel." "We have to let him know that the family that once abandoned him has changed their ways, ready to bring him back." said Derek. "Trust me and Charles, grandma. The past will not come back to haunt you." "I believe in you both. What's your plan?" asked Madam Louise."I'm home." said Christina as she entered the Connors household. This time, instead of the usual demeanour of the Connors, she was greeted with silence. 'That's weird. Where is everyone?' thought Christina as she made her way to the living room. When she reached the living room, it was empty. She walked towards the dining room, thinking perhaps the family had already started dinner without her. To her surprise, the dining room was neatly arranged, and the tableware was untouched. Just then, she spotted one of the housemaids exiting from the kitchen. "Suzanne, where is everyone? Is there something going on that I was not aware of?" asked Christina. Suzanne, the housemaid, looked at Christina with fear in her eyes. "What's wrong, Suzanne? You do not need to be scared. Just tell me." said Christina, seeing Suzanne's concern. "Ms. Christina, it's grim news. Young Master Darren has been arrested by the police. Master Glen and Madam Michelle are heading to the police station as w
"Is there any sign of Oliver? I have yet to see him." asked Corey. Ethan was getting concerned, "Yeah, now that you mentioned it, there's no sign of Mr. Reed anywhere. Surely he has to be here by now."Latisha replied, "Well, would it be any surprise if he is not? After all, Mr. Reed has to stay hidden until QS Holdings's weekend gala.""Yes, we all know of the gala, Latisha. No need to be so loud about it."Corey exclaimed, "That voice... Oliver! Is that you?!?" "Yes, it's me, Corey... and judging by the fact that you can hear me, it means that somehow you are in one of our suits." replied Oliver."Both Julian and I are in suits." replied Corey."That figures. Well, then, to continue, I'm sorry I could not be there, Corey; for two reasons. One, like Latisha said, I have to stay hidden for the time being. Two and more importantly, I am back in the Pink Diamond Bungalow. I'm getting ready for a meeting with some VIPs." explained Oliver.Corey was quick to connect the dots. She asked
"Did you hear that?" Darren's cronies on the upper floor heard the unusual commotion in the second room. Suspecting something was not as it seemed, they rushed back to the second room to investigate. They saw the door open and Julian's father on the floor, unconscious. 'Hmmmm.... might as well.' thought Julian as crept behind the cronies. "Mr. Bax..." Before the cronies could call out Julian's father, they too were shot in the neck by Julian's sleeper darts. They, too, lost consciousness and dropped onto the floor. Unlike Julian's father, they fell flat to the ground, making minimal noise. 'Sleep tight.' thought Julian as he closed the door. "What's going on up there? It's gone too quiet all of a sudden." said Jerome as he rendezvous with Fred and Darren back in the living room. "Something is not right." mumbled Darren. He then signalled Jerome and Fred to follow him and the three of them rushed to the upper level. They were shocked to see everyone unconscious, fast asleep on
"Corey! Julian!""GET OUT HERE!!! NOW!!!"*SMASH!!!*Smashes and crashes could be heard from the unit next to Oliver's unit at Metro City Residences, where Corey and Julian were residing.Although they had locked all doors and windows; and had barricaded the house as much as they could, they knew it was only a matter of time before Darren Connors and his cronies, as well as Corey and Julian's parents, find them and subsequently harm and extort them. While they were searching, Darren and company had already severely damaged three of the five units in the Metro City Residences compound. They were now on the fourth unit.It was only a matter of time before they are found. Corey and Julian had to do something to defend themselves."Look, sis. There is no other choice. We have to take this risk." said Julian, pointing to the equipment that the Krauser Kartel had left to their care."Are you sure about this, Julian?" asked Corey with great concern, to which Julian vehemently nodded in reply
"I am so uncomfortable with this arrangement." Peter was constantly complaining to Lea while they were in the visitor room of Townsville Prison. He was still struggling to come to terms with his son Derek's request for him and Lea to visit Pamela Quinton, Peter's sister. "Look, honey, it's like what Louise said. Just treat this as an interrogation. If nothing else, we might get some information that we may not have previously attained if we did not come here today." said Lea, despite Peter's constant heavy breathing. Just then, they could hear the sound of a set of keys fumbling outside the door. When the door subsequently opened, in walked one of the wardens, dragging Pamela along with her using a chain. She then sat Pamela down opposite Peter and Lea, followed by securing her on the seat and securing the chains to the table legs. Unlike in Paris, however, Peter and Lea did not see an arrogant blonde full of confidence and mocking them, threatening them by attempting to kill the
"ETHAN! HELP!!!" The screams coming out of Ethan's phone could be heard by Oliver and Christina, even though they were across the room. "What's going on, Ethan? Who's that on the line?" asked Christina. Ethan didn't answer Christina and replied to the person on the other line. "Corey! What's wrong? What's going on over there?" asked Ethan anxiously. Corey was panicking while Julian was guarding the door to their place of residence. "Ethan, it's trouble! BIG TROUBLE!" "Calm down, Corey! Take a breath and explain what's going on. I'll put you on speaker so Mr. Reed can hear you." replied Ethan. "Oliver is with you?!?!? I thought he was dead." exclaimed Corey. "Long story, Corey. What's happening over there?!?" replied Ethan as he put his phone on speaker and walked closer to Oliver and Christina. Corey quickly explained, "Darren Connors is creating chaos at the Metro City Gardens. He is in the vicinity with some lowlife gangsters. I don't know how; but somehow, he knows we are h
