The cold, icy feel of the water splashed on Oliver Reed shocked him awake. Oliver sat up immediately upon getting splashed awake. When he sat up and opened his eyes to get his bearings, he noticed he was naked, covered by a bedsheet in a hotel room. "What the hell? Where am I? Why am I naked in this room?" Oliver was too shocked to understand the situation surrounding him. He then turned to his left; and to his utter shock, there was a young woman, with a towel wrapped around her body, sitting on the edge of the bed beside him. "Woken up, already? You cheating bastard!!" a lady standing in front of them screamed out loud. Oliver turned his attention to the front of him and saw his wife, Christina Conners standing in front of him. Christina then turned to the woman who was sitting on the bed and said, "You may go. Thanks for your help." The woman nodded and walked out of the hotel room. "What the hell is going on, Christina? Do you know this woman?" Oliver asked in utter shock. "Not really, She was just a tool... a tool I used to annul this sham of a marriage." Christina replied coldly. "How could you do this? All this time I have been nothing but faithful to you!" Oliver shouted in dismay and sadness. "Oh please, a broke idiot like you, who grew up in an orphanage with a poor job that pays a measly salary? What can you do for me?" mocked Christina harshly. "Don't forget, I come not only from a rich family, us Conners are the second most powerful family in all of Metro City.""With all the connections we have with most of the big companies in the city, you can count yourself lucky to have a janitor job in the business district." said Christina's sister Lacy, who was standing beside Christina the whole time.
"It's your word against ours. Who do you think people will believe" asked Christina smugly. "Sis, how did you even marry a pauper like this bozo for three years?" Lacy asked jokingly, mocking Oliver in the process. "Hah, he's not marriage material. I was just bored. Besides, we are all still young, I can always find a similar aged guy who is more well off that this beggar." replied Christina heartlessly. "So you deliberately set me up with this charade... just so you can divorce me?" Oliver asked with tears in his eyes. "Quit crying, you piece of shit. You should be grateful that we Connors even let you through the front gate of our mansion.""And like my sister said, it's your word against ours. Who do you think my family will believe?" replied Christina with no remorse.
"The sight of you makes the whole Connors family sick to our stomachs. The sooner we get rid of you, the better." added Lacy. "Enough talk." said Christina. She then took out a document and pen and threw it at Oliver. "That's our divorce agreement. You will sign it right now. After you sign it, you will not return to the Connor Mansion ever again. You will also receive nothing monetary from the Connors." Christina ordered. "If you refuse to sign it, I will send the photos I have taken from your sweet slumber with that slut to your workplace. Don't forget, we have connections there too." Lacy blackmailed. "I can't believe you are so heartless. After all I have done for this family, living lower than your servants, not making a scene despite that, you still want to get rid of me." Oliver was too angry to think straight. He then looked at the divorce agreement that Christina threw at him. He had never wanted to divorce her; but her heartless, remorseless actions, seconded by her equally evil sister, left him no other choice. Reluctantly, Oliver took the pen and, with shaky breaths, signed his name on the divorce agreement. Christina, after making sure she Oliver put his signature on the divorce agreement, snatched the document back from him. Lacy then took a big plastic bag and threw it at Oliver. "We already took the liberty to pack your disgusting clothes into this bag. You had better get dressed before you catch a cold." "Come on, sis. We got what we wanted. Let's get out of this place. I can't stand the stench of this loser any longer." said Lacy. Both Christina and Lacy then turned around and left the hotel room. Oliver took a few minutes to collect himself, before he decided to take a hot, quick shower and dress up immediately. Just as he was about to leave the dreaded hotel room, he received a message on his phone. The message was from his boss. He sent photo attachments of Oliver's "one wild night" with the hired lady. It turns out that Lacy lied to Oliver. After she and Christina left the hotel, Lacy secretly forwarded the photos to Oliver's boss, citing that Oliver cheated on his now ex-wife Christina.
There was a written message after the photos were sent to Oliver. It read: "You do not need to come to work tomorrow. I will not accept cheating losers like you. You are fired!""If you show up at my office ever again, I will press full charges against you for trespassing! Good riddance!"
That message sent Oliver over the edge. In a fit a rage, Oliver grabbed his belongings and stormed out of the hotel room and to the reception, looking for Lacy. He did not care if he loses his life. He was going to make Lacy pay for her costing him his job. When Oliver reached the reception, he looked left and right wildly, with his eyes bulged wide in anger. Unfortunately for him, Lacy and Christina were long gone. "Sir. Can I help you?" one of the hotel staff approached Oliver. Seeing the hotel staff beside him, Oliver knew better and calmed himself down. "No, it's ok. I'll be leaving the hotel now." replied Oliver dejectedly and made his way out of the hotel. As Oliver wondered the streets of Metro City, reality just set in for him. He was now jobless, homeless, divorced and broke. Tears of a broken man flowed down his face as he continued to wander the streets. Just then, Oliver’s phone rang. When he took it out and check his phone, he realized it was the hospital. Immediately, Oliver thought that the hospital was calling about the outstanding amount to treat his benefactor from the orphanage he grew up from, Mrs. Theresa. “Hello?” Oliver answered worryingly. “Mr. Reed. I’m calling from the Metro City Hospital. It’s regarding Mrs. Theresa.” greeted the receptionist. “Yes, I’m aware about the outstanding payment. Give me two days, please.” Oliver pleaded over the phone. “Well, Mr. Reed, I don’t know how to say this; but..."Ding! Christina's phone sounded out, much to her surprise. "Sorry, everyone. Let me take this while you all focus on the task at hand." said Christina. She then walked over to a corner to check her phone, with Carson and Sharon following her."What do you have for us, Christina?" asked Sharon. "It's from Kellan and Sylva. They are basically saying that they are watching from a distance and they saw us entering the villa." replied Christina.Carson got worried hearing her reply. "Do you think they saw your face before we entered?" he asked nervously."No need to fret, Carson. They only saw the back of us. This means that their safehouse provided by my family is facing the front door of the villa." replied Christina.Sharon nodded, "That being said, we need to be extra careful when heading out later on. I would figure that your family may start to suspect you, especially now when you are supposedly at Quinton Hotel paying for a dinner." Christina understood what Sharon meant. At the s
"What's going on, Holly?" asked Henry as he joined his twin sister at the front door. He too was rooted to the spot seeing Christina together with Carson and Sharon on the other side greeting them. "Well... this is an awkward surprise." said Henry. "Tanya! A minute of your time please! We have visitors!" he reported out loud so Tanya could hear him. Tanya rushed over to the front door hearing Henry's voice, only to slow down to a screeching halt seeing who was at the door. "Woah, what's going on? Why are you three here??? You know what? Never mind that. Please, come in quickly. We don't want anyone to spy on us." Tanya and the twins quickly escorted Christina, Carson and Sharon in. The twins quickly scoured the surroundings before closing the front door. "I'm sorry to intrude at this hour; but this cannot wait." said Christina as she made her way to join everyone at the living room. Once there, she was amazed at what she saw. As she took a moment to soak in everything sh
"Wait a moment, dear." Thomas interrupted his wife."Before you do that, Christina and Lacy, ensure the first thing you do is ensure you release the news that the trash loser Oliver is dead; and emphasize that the scourge of Metro City is finally wiped off existence." Thomas instructed.Lacy was more than happy to handle the task assigned by her grandfather. She nodded excitedly and replied, "I have the press release ready, grandpa. Christina can vet it once before release.""Will do, Lacy. This will send a message to the whole of Metro City that we still control the whole city; and that no one messes with us." added Christina. 'Surely, Sharon will know what to do next.'"Good. I expect the release by noon tomorrow." said Thomas."Pardon the interruption, grandpa." Darren interjected. "It seems that Kurt is having difficulty getting rid of this helicopter."Everyone turned their attention towards the screen in the living room. Sure enough, it seemed like Eric's helicopter is outmanuve
"No one inside? What do you mean?" asked Charles alarmingly.Ivy replied as she took over the controls of Eric's helicopter, "Your eyes do not deceive you, boss. There is no on inside the helicopter."Everyone watching had confused looks on their faces. Team Reed was increasingly worried."This is bad. We need to contact the rest of the Kartel. They are surely not aware about this current situation." said Mitchell."Do that, Mitchell. Ivy, do what you can to salvage the helicopter. You and the twins will need it to escape from here." instructed Tanya."Do as she says, Ivy." said Charles. "Roger that, boss." replied Ivy. Taking full control, Ivy did everything she could to ensure the helicopter evaded the anti-air missile. "Damn, I can't seem to shake off that annoying missile." said an annoyed Ivy. As soon as she said that however, Barry suddenly had an audacious idea."Hold on. Ms. Ivy, don't shake it off!" exclaimed Barry. "Are you out of your mind, Barry?!?" replied a shocked Ivy,
"Hector!"Everyone was surprised to see Hector join the crowd, assisted by Mason, who helped him to his seat."How are you feeling, old friend?" asked Peter. "I'll live, Mr. Quinton. I can't be taken down that easily." replied Hector, holding his ribs due to the after effects of the attack on him.Derek asked, "Hector, do you remember what happened before and when you were attacked?" Hector shook his head, "No, Young Master. I had no idea what happened and how I was attacked.""Walk us through as best you can, Hector. Every detail is crucial." Charles requested earnestly.Hector took a few moments to fully regain his bearings before answering everyone, "After dropping off Young Master and his family at the Townsville Exhibition Centre, I headed to BDT mall for my dinner.""It just so happened after which that I was craving some coffee. So, I headed to the Starbucks cafe opposite BDT mall, where Steph used to work, for a cup.""I do remember I was on my way to pick up Young Master and
With the heaviest of hearts, Madam Louise began her story."Thomas Connors. Metro City. These words will always be the bane of my existence. I never would have thought that that old scum would not only still be alive; but he would try to harm my family now.""Thomas and I were high school sweethearts back in the day. We were in a relationship for a number of years. It was a serious relationship, serious enough that we were supposed to be engaged and married.""But towards the end of our relationship, he started to be increasingly distant from me. Then, one day, he told me that he had to go on a business trip. It turns out that it was to Metro City.""I wanted to go with him, considering I had nothing to do; but he insisted not to bring me along."Peter interrupted, "Let me guess, he left and never returned." to which Madam Louise nodded. "I received a letter, handwritten by him. Long story short, he cheated on me with another woman, whom he said he was going to marry instead of me. He
