When Grandpa Hendry's burial was completed, everyone slowly exited the burial area. Several people came up to the Gilrens to express their condolences. Aleandro was approached.

People who tried to approach Aleandro were ignored. He looked silently at the rain-soaked mound of earth. Colleagues and relatives who tried to engage him in conversation simply smiled stiffly and moved over to the rest of the Gilren family.
