“ Katrienair, my sister” a voice came. I looked around, disoriented. The once snow land has melted to form a clear green phosphorescence on the open field. I mean—the snow land in my dreams. The silhouette of a lady standing afar was the only discernible figure on the field. It was raining and all I could hear was the forced breath of a being, muttering 'my sister'.
Light flashed from the sky giving me a slight glimpse of the figure. A lady in blood stained white garment, her dirty golden hair covering her face. She was white—extremely pale.
“my sister help me!” she screamed. It was like she's struggling with some forces threatening to take away her voice or even her being. As she screamed, her figure was suppressed to the ground, till it completely vanished. I tried to move but my limbs didn't budge, all was still. I could only blink and gasp. Green light flashed again, the figure was no more and her screams, all gone.

At a corner of the room, the mystical weapon mysteriously called 'the key' sat on a stool.“ Oh good Lord , I knew it” he walked over, tried to lift it but it didn't budge.Wait... Julian just said 'Good Lord'. Not Julian, Joel, he must have attended a church while on earth. That's a talk for another day. I joined him, hoping I'll be able to do what his muscles could not. It was a magnificent and sword- like. Touching the ornate cross-guard that spread out like a leaf, with a jewel embedded in the center, I felt chills in my veins. I ran my fingers across the runes filling the blade’s fuller. I had no thoughts about what the symbols meant, but felt my finger tingle as I traced their lines. The balance of the weapon was impeccable. The metal of the carved guard, and leather-bound hilt, balanced the thick, heavy blade efficiently. Nervously, I picked it
I was fighting with all I've got on this mysterious battle field. I was fighting with monsters without faces. It was hard but I fought with all I've got. There was no armor, no shield, no peculiar weapon, just one sword—likewise the other monsters. It was like a sword fight and it all looked like I was winning despite being outnumbered. But suddenly, I collapsed to the ground, hot blood gushed out of my heart. I should have died but that world cleared away quickly and I appeared in another. An open field—empty and sandy. I was running, then I fell into a pit. I got enveloped in a metal web, like a chain. I struggled to get out of the chain but it was just too strong and tight. I saw faces above the pit. They jeered at me as they drew me out of the pit. I helplessly watched them roll away the stone at the lake of fire ready to throw me into. I looked around, the people around were strangers—Emiliar, Alistair, Julian, no one was there to help. Then a voice cam
The first person I saw when I got to the castle was Raleigh. He's probably the last person I needed to see after the taunt he pulled the last time. It's not my fault though, I heard a knock on my door and checked it.“Milady” he bowed. “ May I?”I remembered that night— same 'May l?' what does he want this time?“ What do you want?”“ I came to apologize...” he trailed off. “for that night.”“ Never mind forget that... it's okay” I was about to slam the door on his face when he stopped me.“ You're not angry huh?” I nodded. “ then we can have breakfast together?”“ sure, I'll join you in a sec.”He hesitated. “ no ... here. The maid will serve is the meal here. I've asked her to.”What again?!“ Fine, come in.” I opened the door to allow him in. Moments later, a maid walked in a
A wave of silence swept through the room. It all looked like the time stopped for a moment. I was frozen beneath his hold and we were both thinking. Well, I was just being realistic and I should be commended for still keeping a straight face. I was having mixed feelings—wanted to cry, scream, stay, hold, touch, do something dirty. I have my own fantasies and it's taking a lot from me to control it.He was about to talk when we heard a knock on the door. I eased myself away and went to answer it, the king's messenger at the door bowed.“ Milady, the king summons you.”“ Okay I'll be there in a sec.” I retied my hair and wiped off a lingering tear from my eye. I picked up my coat from its stand and addressed Julian.“ I'm going out. Remember to lock the door when you're ready to leave.” He just nodded. His expression made me feel guilty— like I've never seen him this broken before. When I got to the Kin
“ What did he say?” he asked again.I hissed.“ Asked me to find the girl and the key or die.” I qouted him in verbatim. “ says death like he can afford it.”“ You know he can.” Julian chuckled. “ You don't need to find them. There will be war anyways. Let's just start preparing for it.”I thought for a while.“ you'll prepare the soldiers then. Though I'll try my best but I won't be around for a while and you've got to help me.”He arched a brow. “ where are you going this time? And why are you putting me out of your plans.”I sighed. “ first, I'm not putting you out of my plans. C'mon, I'm just following my instincts. I'm seeing things sort of. I need to find some people. Just three to four days. I'll find them.”“ three to four days?! What excuse would I give on your behalf?!”“Dont
“mum!" Sylvia cried at the feet of he mother, sobbing profusely. Her mother who was backing her seemed unshakable even by her tears.“ mum please. Don't let me...I'm sorry!”“ you're sorry?” he mother chuckled.“ Don't let me. I've got a lot to do! ” she cried. “ I need to be on the watch mother. I need to be here.”“ I know you do have a lot to do. And you should not be sorry.”Sylvia continued to cry, gasping as if something was eating up her heart.“ Mum, the pain! It's too much for me. I can't leave. Please ...”“ I am your mother Sylvia!” her mother yelled. Sylvia's heart shrivelled.“ And I am your daughter!” she cried. “ I do not hate you anymore. I swear!”“ I know. You never hated me ” she said.“ I should be sorry. I want you to know that I always wanted the best for you...
“ You know what your punishments are. You still have to a serve them...”Sylvia sighed. These people will never understand.“ I came here for something else Master.” she bowed. “ Not for my offence or to be judged and I want you all to listen to me.”“ you don't have any right to interrupt a council chief.” one of them attacked. For Hell's sake, she didn't interrupt anyone“ I apologize for that.” she then addressed the leader. “ but I must say all I want to say. That why I came at this hour.”
A excruciating pain hit my forehead as I rolled back and forth on my bed. I've been like this all night, dreams of faces hunt my sleep. The room felt more stuffy and incubating than it'd ever been before and I had to give up on sleep. I washed my face, put on my coat and walked out. At least to get a little bit of fresh air since my room have been invaded by some beings threatening to take my peac. I took a seat at the garden, the moolight being the only source of light for me to see. Cold breeze slammed on my face. Just when I was starting to feel my headache disappear, someone joined me on my seat. I was shocked at first because I never noticed someone was coming but the person—it was easy to discern who it was. I knew it but uis smell, it was Julian. He wrapped his hands around my houlder and rested on it. My headache literally melted away.“ What are you doing out here thi
