LOGINRafael's Point of View Somewhere along the way, the children started getting tired. Haley had been full of energy when we first left the packhouse, asking questions about everything she saw and pointing excitedly towards the border. But after a while, her little voice became quieter. Now she's leaning against me, her arms wrapped around my neck. "Daddy?" "Hmm?" "Are we almost home?" I smile. "Getting tired?" She shakes her head immediately. "No." I laugh softly. "Of course not." "I'm just resting my eyes." Rick chuckles from beside me. "That's what my son said ten minutes ago." I glance over at Jackson, who is sitting in front of Rick on the four-wheeler, his head already drooping. "Looks like we've worn them out." Rick nods. "I think it's time we call it a day." The children protest, but neither of them has enough energy left to argue for long. "We'll do it again." I promise Haley. "Really?" "Really." She smiles sleepily. "Okay." By the time we reach the p
Rafael’s Point of View.I stare at the children playing in the corner of my office, barely paying attention to the papers scattered across my desk."Rafael, are you listening?"Jed asks with a frown. My head snaps in his direction."Excuse me?""I asked if you're listening."He raises an eyebrow."Which, clearly, you're not."I shake my head and run a hand through my hair."No, sorry. Go ahead.""Never mind."He sighs."Have you talked to her?""Who?"I ask, looking down at the papers in front of me.Jed gives me a look."Don't act like you don't know who I'm talking about. Andrea. Have you talked to her?"I sigh."No, I haven't.""Why not?"Rick asks, crossing his arms over his chest."I don't know what to say.""How about you apologize?""I know."I sigh again."But I don't know where to start."I look down at my desk."And I don't know if she'll even listen to me.""So you're not even going to try?"Rick asks."Of course I am."I look at him."I just thought I'd give her the day."
Andrea's Point of View I groan as I roll over, reaching for my phone on the nightstand to shut off the alarm screaming at me. When it is finally quiet I run my hands down my face, before staring up at the ceiling. I don't think I've slept all that much last night. Luckily, Haley had a sleepover with Jackson, so at least I don't have to worry about getting her ready for the day. If I'm being completely honest, I don't want to get myself ready for this girls' day out either. With Haley occupied, all I want to do is to stay in bed and feel sorry for myself. I lift my phone to look at the time and I sigh again before forcing myself out of bed and heading into the bathroom to start the day. Twenty minutes later, someone is hammering loudly on my bedroom door. "I'm coming! I'm coming! Stop trying to break down my door!" I yell, as I grabbing my things before making my way to the door. I quickly open it, and Lizzy standing there with her arm raised to knock again. She slowly low
Rafael's Point of View I take another sip from the glass in my hand, staring down at the amber liquid. I can't bring myself to go downstairs for dinner. I don't think I can face Andrea right now. I sigh and run my hand through my hair before resting my head against the back of my chair. Her words keep playing over and over in my head. You're supposed to be on my side. I close my eyes. She's right. I know she's right. I just didn't know how to handle the situation without making things worse. I think about what she said about Addison touching me. I know I should have stopped her. But over the years, I've become so accustomed to Addison talking to me, touching my arm, standing too close, that I barely even register it anymore. I always just ignored it. My father constantly told me not to be rude to her. Not to embarrass her. Not to make her feel unwanted. He always said it would set a bad example for the pack. But now I'm wondering why. Why did he care so much about A
Andrea's Point of ViewI shake my head, staring at Rafael."Seriously?"I let out a disbelieving laugh, but there is nothing funny about this."Okay, yes. I know I didn't react very well to the situation."I throw my hands up."But what did you expect me to do? I can't stand her, Rafael. She was deliberately trying to get a rise out of me."I shake my head, my anger growing with every word."And she got one. I'll admit that. I should have handled it better. I could have been more diplomatic, and maybe I should have just walked away. But I'm not sorry for being angry."I say firmly and Rafael frowns at me."Andrea...""No. I'm not finished."I cut him off. My voice cracks slightly, but I force myself to keep going."I am not sorry for how I acted. If anyone knew what happened between us, they would understand why I react the way I do when she is around. But you know what the problem is?"I take a step toward him."You are. Because she is trying to make me look like a terrible person, a
Andrea's Point of ViewI laugh and shake my head at Rafael and Haley, who are chasing each other around as we make our way toward the ice cream shop."Come and get me, slow poke!"Haley yells at her father before taking off as fast as her little legs can carry her.Rafael laughs and starts chasing her."You're going down, little wolf!"I smile, watching them for a moment before something suddenly slams into me, almost knocking me off of my feet.I stumble, but I manage to catch myself before I fall.I look up and see Addison standing in front of me, sneering at me."Can't you ever just watch where you're going?"She snaps at me.I frown, folding my arms over my chest."You slammed into me. Maybe you should watch where you're going."I say coldly. She opens her mouth to answer, but suddenly her entire expression changes when she looks past me.A sweet smile spreads across her face."Is there a problem here?"I hear Rafael ask from behind me.He steps closer, placing his hand on the sma
