FAZER LOGINChrysalis's POV
Current day.
Knocking on the door woke me from my sleep. My comfy bed was begging me to just stay put. The knocking started again and I cracked one eye open. The sun was streaming in through the slightly opened curtain.
I finally answered the person on the other side of the door. "For the love of the gods. If you value your life, leave. I'm awake!"
The male voice on the other side said, "If you value your life Alpha heir, you would have been awake thirty minutes ago. You know the rule. When you're at home you train. You will be late for our session if you lay in bed any longer."
After fighting with the covers I jumped up out of bed and swung the door open. Beta Jackson Wilders stood on the other side of the doorway with his arms crossed.
"My apologies Beta Wilders. It won't happen again." I said out of breath.
He kept his stern look for a little longer then he broke. He cracked a big smile and pulled me in for a big bear hug. I was a little surprised at first then I put my arms around his waist to hug him like a niece would hug her uncle. We both let go at the same time.
"You still look so young Chrys," he said, still smiling. I just looked up at him with no expression. "Don't look at me like that. I know you're about to turn twenty-seven, but you will always be little Chrysie to me. Now get ready to train. You're not really about to be late. I just wanted to see you off before you got too busy in your day." He ruffled my hair before turning to leave.
"How is Jamerson? Have you talked to him lately?," I rushed to say before he could get away.
He stopped and turned a little. He had a kind of proud but sad look on his face. "He is doing just fine. His pack is growing and he has made one hell of an alpha. I often wonder if I was ever holding him back just because he was the second born beta," he confessed. He smiled and sighed saying, "But that's enough of my guilt. I won't taint his accomplishments with it. I speak to him as much as I allow myself to hover." He waited to see if that was the last of my inquisition, then turned to leave.
I really was going to close the door but I couldn't resist. "Do you know how he is feeling?," I asked in a small voice.
It looked like he was giving a little thought to my question. He finally responded, "I think he is feeling well enough. He still hasn't found his mate but he has those he calls friends amongst his pack. Maybe you should give him a call when you go back out into the world." He waved and left it at that.
I closed the door and went to my bathroom to get ready for training.
I looked in the mirror noticing how much my eyes kept shifting in color. They are normally a light brown with a hint of gray and purple. Sometimes the purple will be blue or red instead. I don't think anyone else notices it. I'll ask mom about it later. My hair was still a reddish brown mess on my head since I fell asleep without tying it up. My olive tone skin was still spotless except for this scar that appeared on the left side of my chest right under my collar bone. Part of it was reddish pink and the other part pinkish white. Both sides made up a circle that almost depicted a Sun.
It happened when I turned twenty-one. As I was getting to bed that night, I started to feel heat in my chest. I can't remember if I passed out or just fell asleep. When I woke up the next day the spot was itching. I looked in the mirror and I saw the raised skin. Looking at it now I still don't know what it means. If it means anything at all. Maybe it has something to do with my eyes.
I shook my head after splashing water in my face to try and wake up some more. If I get myself together I'll have time for some breakfast.
I threw on a black sports bra with some black leggings. I decided to strap only one of my knives to my right thigh and a small gun to my left thigh. I didn’t know what today's training would consist of and I didn’t want to feel naked without any weapons since I still hadn’t shifted yet. I wasn’t sure if today would be man to man or man to wolf.
I know it's unheard of for an alpha heir not being able to shift between the ages eighteen and twentyone years. But, I had become that one.
I had hoped that mom and dad would have another child to step up and be alpha. It never happened. I also knew I had a will to take care of the pack. I just felt I didn’t have the tools or resources to do it without being able to shift.
So, for now I trained to be the best I could be. I excelled at combat. No wolf besides my father had ever bested me in man to wolf combat. Seeing my drive and strength my father bestowed upon me a sort of apprentice alpha roll.
I had surveillance over the pack so I spent most of my time on the Earth plane. We, along with most packs, resided in a tear in the planes called the Enchanted Realm. I just so happen to be part witch by way of my mother and I was able to travel back and forth.
There are others outside of our pack that can travel too. In fact my mother helped design the first transport station so we could have full access to the Earth plane and grow our pack and establish our own businesses to thrive there as well. I had full control of those businesses. I may spend most of my time in the realm but, I came home often to check on the pack that my parents were still running.
Now that my morning pity session was over, I finished tying my hair up and jammed my feet into my boots. I walked out of my suite and started to run down the back stairs through the omega wing to the kitchen.
I knew I needed to go see my mother but I wasn’t ready to run into her just yet. I glided into the kitchen and grabbed an apple from one of the islands. There was a medley of fresh food. I chose an omelette. It was quick and had most of the foods I wanted all in one.
Mhm. I tilted my head back savoring every bite. The food is always so great here. It was one of the many reasons I ventured back so often. Before I could finish my last bite my eyes flew open as I felt her aura nudging against my senses.
Jude’s POV It was Friday morning and everything was pretty much the same. Trained with guys before I got a call from Kayne.Dude needed to relax. He was lucky I was in the pack house to receive the call. I told him everything was under control and for him to relax and focus on getting us the best deal in the alliance that he could. Since I’d walked the pack grounds checking on everyone making sure they were getting used to me again I’d decided to go into town to check on the business here at home. I made sure the warriors understood I’d be gone for a second before I walked out of the pack house. As soon as I shut the door and walked towards a jeep the sirens went off.I linked Jane a beta over training, “What is it Jane?” “We had a breach on the back of the sacred lands. They didn’t get too far but I sounded the alarm to be sure none got by us. There were at least ten rogues and an accomplice. The none rogue is alive. We have them chained and secured,” she explained.“O
Alpha Virgil’s POV After Jackson put the code into the guarded door that led to the prison cells we walked through it.“Did you have to give the boy such a hard time?” He asked me. “No. I just wanted to see how he would react under the pressure. I’m sure he’s a good wolf. He just has some unfortunate luck. Be sure to let him know I was only concerned. If I have to speak with him myself I will.” “I’ll have a talk with him first. He has been pushing himself nonstop since Chrys sent him back for the extra training. He really is a good warrior. He just needs to trust himself more.” Jackson responded. “So what happened out there? We usually don’t have an issue with rogues.” I asked him as we walked down the hall to the interrogation side room. “I was informed of the rogues approaching. There were about ten of them. You know rogues will have either extra strength or extra speed. Never both. Well they had both. I’m not sure if there was anything else different about them. By
Chrysalis’s POVI waited for Leon to respond.I could tell Blake wanted to kick me under the table. The silence was suffocating. For everyone else that is. I didn’t give two fucks. He came to the Accords each and every time offering a false peace treaty just so no one would rise up against him. That just tells me he is biding his time. Waiting until he has what he needs to start again. They shouldn’t have let him off so easily back then. Clinton stopped staring at me and looked at Leon. Everyone else did the same once they realized I’d said what I’d said and wasn’t going to back down.Leon looked at Clinton without answering me and said, “What is the next issue?” Clinton cleared his throat and continued. “The next issue is the Enchanted forest. We all know that forest is an unguarded gateway to the Dark Realm.”Again Leon interrupted saying, “Another none wolf issue?” “Prehaps you should allow him to speak so that he may be able to explain before you start dismis
Kayne’s POVAfter pretending to have been going over my files I looked up just at the same time as she did.But she was looking at Alpha Leon and his advisor. Why wasn’t I aware we had a regional she-wolf alpha? I thought. She didn’t linger long enough for them to notice she had been staring. I noticed a slight change in her eyes. It was one of recognition. She resumed going over her files before the Elder Wolf Clinton Rosemoon stood. We have other Elder wolves but he is more prominent. He keeps up with the younger generations. “Hello everyone. I'd like to go ahead and welcome you all to this year's Accords. The alliance of the Alphas. My Witch colleague hasn’t been able to make it in yet. She will join us as soon as she finishes handling her affairs.” He paused looking at the woman like he couldn’t figure out why she was there. The guy sitting next to her looked to be holding in a laugh while she rolled her eyes looking annoyed. The guy finally held up the name plate o
Kayne’s POV I woke up early this morning so I could get a workout in and check on the packs before the meeting. Jude told me that I needed to relax and focus on today's meeting. I knew that but it was out of pure habit that I checked in anyhow. I decided not to call again today unless I had to. I wanted him to know I was trying to trust him. And for the most part I did. I was just giving him a hard time for checking out on me when we needed each other the most.I was dressed and ready to go have a “snack” with Sam before going into the meeting. Since this weekend was more about business than anything else I had on a suit today. I still kept a blade on me. I got some of my hair done in some intricate braids so I wouldn’t have to worry about it. It's a good thing they don’t unravel when shifting. I don’t know the magic behind it but I’m grateful. I made my way out of the suite after grabbing my files off the desk. As I turned around Sam was leaning up against the opposi
Kayne’s POV I was glad to have that long ass trip over with. I will give it to the realm when it comes to transportation outside of portals. We’re trying to keep pollution of all kinds to a minimum here in the enchanted realm so no airplanes at the moment.Pollution is the one thing most of us agree with. Including the magic council. The only reason we haven't established a major portal here in Rose city is because it’s supposed to be a neutral point and the major portals are owned by the Blackcrest pack. I think they credit their current Luna with that invention. It’s not like certain beings can’ make big portals, however It is difficult and possibly endangering to carry so many at once. The Major Portals can be operated to carry platforms and even armies could file through them at once. They can stay open for long periods of time. I don’t understand the technicalities behind them but they are very useful and the preferred way to travel in and out of different planes.
Kayne’s POV I pulled my shirt over my head and threw it on the bleachers as we walked over to have a seat. Drills and a workout had me ready for the day. I needed to go grab some breakfast. My beta Sam tossed me a bottle of water and began drinking his own. “I just caught wind that your broth
Chrysalis’s POV“Chrysalis?”“Chrysalis?”I groaned a little as I began to stretch. I heard my name being called again.“Chrys darling. Please wake up,” my mother whispered loudly. My eyes popped open. I looked up at my mother leaning over me as if she had been trying to wake me. I was hot. I st
Chrysalis’s POV I coughed into my hand as I stumbled through what seemed to be an underground tunnel. The walls were made of dirt. I could only see due to my wolf senses. It felt cool and damp as I kept moving along the walls, but my body was hot. I could see steam rising from my arms. I ha
Chrysalis's POV Sweating, I walked back into my mothers study. I’m not even this tired after kicking ass on the training grounds. Dueling with Gan-Gan was fun and invigorating though. For the first time the walls lead me straight to my mother. She was beginning to stand as I walked through th
