Allen always saw the latest news about the domains and the creatures.
He made some special orders for some reporters to get some more information out of the situation. The different dates that domains were appearing, the different attempts at trying to enter with different devices ad so on, all he gathered. There was a complete map drawn out in from of him that he marked with various things, with some pictures, news headings, and notes. When he kind of sent this data in a report, the president’s assistant had asked him.
“Are you planning on hijacking them… what are you going to do with it?” The assistant asked.
“… I believe the patterns could make us identify more things about them. The spread is from a center spot, after all. There are some large domains and some small, I think I can probably figure out that matter with this..” Allen said.
‘ And probably do other things that I will not tell you' he thought
The president’s assistant was not really convinced. He also said that the president was looking forward to your next step.
The information about the locations of the domains forming had told him the following things.
Speed=distance
Size=domain size
Domains of the biggest size were there where the river split more so in the night. The smaller size ones were where there were small domains. The ground ones… he guessed there were some underground ones too… and for the skylight, the sky ones too.
Some spots had a minimum amount of light flowing, there was also little activity observed there.
Allen said to himself. “The next domains that are going to open close to the institute area would at least be more than 100km away. The speed of the river is too much toward North and West, so probably in that direction from the institute area. Wait… there is some light flowing in a different direction that was not present there before… a small domain is going to open close to the institute??”
Allen wanted to find a domain close, preferably in the boundary of the institute even. He could not go outside for so many kilometers because of the duties at the institute and the surveillance outside the institute. That had taken him some time to have it figured out. The news could not help him. He could deduce why. He could still remember what the same 45-year-old man named forge had told him. Even the person injected 4 days ago could not see the light any clearer than perhaps a kind of hallucination. Thus not much difference in how they were seeing the light. In matters of intensity and other things.
They did not even know about the light in three different spots. Only a single spot. Neither were they able to tell the direction of flow clearly. It was even less clear to them than the direction of a meteor shower that only appeared for a few seconds in the night. That was why they were thinking it was a hallucination. Allen could also not understand the timing when they would see it.
He asked the old man to stay awake for the night while Allen sat near him, trying to summarize and analyze all the data. Forge had only told him about the light at 3 AM, and when asked to describe, amid focusing and forming sentences, the light had already faded away for him. Not helpful in that regard. He had the young woman investigated again, and she was definitely not his sister. Still, whose family it was… it was even in phase 1 of volunteers.
‘What remains in the checklist?’ Allen asked himself.
1) See the progress of the injected for each week and summarize (DONE 3 times)
2) Compare the symptoms to symp[toms of the injected (DONE)
3) Find an effective curbing method against the side effects of the injection (PENDING)
His sickness was worsening with time. The injected had few observable effects for now other than some slight discomfort sometimes and some allergy conditions. No fever, nothing. While he was constantly feeling weak, exhausted and sleepy. He had practically become stuck to his bedroom in the past three to four weeks that he was doing this.
The only conclusion out of the misery he had was in the checklist too
TOP PRIORITY
Enter a domain
How to enter it, what permits he needed to do it. He found out about it and there was no soon date where the government was just going to open it for the institutes or any other organization other than the military, which he was not a part of… the institute was not affiliated with the military in the least bit. The last person they would allow entry to would probably be from the institute….
He had kind of tried to ask the president's assistant and, after rejection, even the president, but the president had gotten more out of him than he got out of the president. The president could gather that Allen looked a little… too impatient. But he did not know the situation happening with him, else Allen would already be among the injected ones getting tested along with them too… and he had no verified source from where he got injected so maybe investigated by the military too which was just going to be great….he knew it.
Allen watched the news and there was no mention of any opened domain near the institutes they were in, neither there was any sign to avoid that spot as had happened for the other domains that he knew of. So, he could easily figure out ” Finally, Jackpot.”
He went to his closet and took out an aboriginal style of clothing. It looked a lot like the simple leather of an animal that was just stitched together skillfully. There was nothing to beautify the cloth, no dye, and nothing else. It looked just like a washed hide of an animal.
“Very expensive it was, but worth it finally.” He said to himself.
He had asked the institute to order this thing, and it took well over 2 weeks to arrive at the cost of well….more than ten years of his salary could have netted him. He got a few things after testing it, but it was not really all that different. He wore it beneath his clothes. Today was the time for an outing.
He made a leave on account of going to the city and tried to search for where the river light was leading for 3 FULL HOURS on a ride that he had rented from the city… too many expenses already on him. He spent some time navigating the area where the light finished and soon he discovered a place that very much looked like the domains that were in reports that were classified, just that this one was a little too… small. Only a few meters in diameter in an isolated spot, in some kind of dense vegetation. Probably the reason could not be discovered by any eyewitnesses or any other general detection measure. They developed no effective radar to find specifically these things. He got into just the leather clothes and boots and tried to enter carefully the domain that had shaken the government with its severity and unpredictabilities.
“Who else can I take with me…. others don’t have a problem as severe as me though, the institute is also not going to let any of the volunteers leave. It is a wonder if I can still walk around if this domain does not find me a solution,” Allen said in the air.
After looking at the spot where his arm had weakened, dead skin, and horrifying-looking blood vessels, he finally entered, starting from that same arm. Soon he was completely in it.
The monkey stared at the lion. It said “What do you mean? You want to drop out?”The lion said “Yes. The taller guy is like a professional hunter. We have come so close to him, but he hasn’t responded in any way till now. I suspect some trap.”“You are right in saying that there is a trap. But I am not settling down without giving them troubles now and then.”
Allen asked Jack the new video guy to come and meet him somewhere close by. Sitting in a café, Allen saw many people entering and exiting. Among them was a man who was on the phone as he entered. Allen signaled to him and the guy came to him.Allen said “Jack I assume? It’s a pleasure to meet you. I hope you had a nice journey till here”The other man said “Yes. I am Jack, Sir Allen. And yes, glad to meet you and hope you are doing well also.”Allen said, “Then I assume that we can talk about the project a little bit?”Jack said, “Yes, I understand some aspects but some questions are still there.”Allen said “Can you kindly repeat the things that I said about the project. It will help me know where we stand right now.”“The project has a specific audience that is students of science and the project is supposed to be a call to acti
Allen turned around a corner and started to walk fast. There were people following him now and then. The last time he saw them, they were wearing formal black suits. The times they followed him most were when there were a lot fewer people around the area. That’s why Allen tried to keep himself in crowded areas throughout the day and for the night, he had taken a room in a crowded place also.As he came near the entrance, Allen took off the extra overcoat, the glasses, the hat, and the mustache and threw them away in a bag. He entered the building and went to his room hiding among a few other people. Looking from the window of his room, he saw a man wearing a black formal suit coming inside. Allen went downstairs and sat on a seat somewhere from where he could observe the man. The suited man asked the man at the counter something, the man at the counter replied in negative to whatever the man in a suit asked. And then the man went away without look
He needed to launch “Video Streaming”, the domain’s version of Nettflix here to accomplish his task. The content was already quite a lot of content in the market. He hence had to provide them with new and better stuff, and he took this challenge.He looked at the prices of some directors, and they were way above his reach. Some other less known directors found his ideas not in the trend and hence they would not sponsor the project. What he did was he searched for the closet film production university that was accepting admissions and made his camp there. Allen waited for the exam to finish and, by looking at the faces of the people who came outside, he already guessed who was thinking what. He picked some of them, taking advantage of the fact that they were in an excited emotional state. He talked to multiple of them and got their numbers. After that wa
Casually skimming through one, it took him a few hours to get to its last. Looking at the other two, he took a quick break by noting down some terms in his electric notepad. After a quick summary, he then read the second book, reading to its half, he left it there.He got a general idea for the day. This country had quite bad ties with another neighboring country of its. Both of the countries were split from a single country a few centuries ago, and they had feuds in between them based on their respective ideologies. The other country had, over the centuries, progressed more than them, because of their flexible ideology. The people of this country, although disliked it, could not or did not make a strong attempt enough to break this trend.Most of the things here were copies of the other country. &
After what seemed like a few mins, he opened his eyes as a student, as a university student this time.Allen now thankfully had enough clues to figure out what game this domain wanted him to play. It was making him go from one education age to another, primary to secondary, making him face the wall of tests again and again. Then, it gave him some buffer time by sending him to a free time of the high school year. He admitted. He was getting side-tracked as time went by because the vision and goal that he wanted to accomplish had become blurry after several months. The drive behind everything that he did before was almost gone. The major problem was that the memories of his were not fully available and hence he could not get himself to do a lot, as he was losing his steam, his motivation.Now, with the clearest idea since the time he came into the domain, his purpose became a lot clear again. It boosted his drive. He wrote down the things that he n
