Ben sat on her armchair rocking the chair back and forth her mind was far away from the screen in front of her.
She needed to revenge, he must pay for calling her a dumb head by telling her she wasn't smart.Seeing him everyday, walking into the office elegantly without worries irked her so much and she vowed to do something that would make him cringe.
And what would that be?Mrs Hadiza walked into the office and informed her the director ordered her to make some coffee for him.
"That's not part of my job description, or is it?" She asked uncertainly, hoping for a negative answer.
"Of course it is, you are his secretary." Mrs Hadiza smiled at Ben, she disliked that harmless smile now.
Ben frowned, annoyed she had to make coffee for her boss she didn't like him a bit.
Then suddenly an idea crossed her mind, she jumped startling Mrs Hadiza."Coffee! Perfect! Yeah coffee it is." She giggled "How does he likes his coffee, with or without sugar?" She asked.
"With very little sugar, a cube to be precise and plenty of milk." Mrs Hadiza told Ben, wondering why her mood lighted up suddenly.
"Okay." She stood up hurriedly to get a cup, she rinsed it and rushed to the coffee tap, she opened it and fetched some from it. Mrs Hadiza shook her head and went into her office.
Ben got to the store and picked milk and sugar out, she poured some milk and a very large amount of sugar into the cup, she stirred the mixture and gave herself a satisfactory smile. Picking up the cup, she walked into the director's office without knocking.
He was receiving a call when she trotted into his office, he looked her way and ended the call, he dropped the phone on the table and faced her.
"You should knock before barging into my office." He frowned.
"Sorry Mr Director, I have some files in my right hand and a cup of coffee in my left hand, I couldn't knock so I opened the door with my legs. Or should I go back and knock?" She asked smiling.
"Forget it, give me the coffee." She placed the coffee on the table and smiled again.
"Here sir." She looked up at the lights beaming out of the chandelier.
"You can leave." He commanded.
"I brought the files containing the promotion list you asked me to type, so I want you to look into it for corrections. I will wait till you're done with your coffee. Standing doesn't hurts, its bearable." She lied, she only wanted to see how horrible he'd look when he sips that coffee.
"Huh?" He carried the cup and placed it on his mouth, Ben was staring intently at him. "What?" He asked and she looked away quickly.
"Nothing." She smiled.
"Better be nothing." If only he knew, he sipped the tea and scrunched his face,
Then he stirred it together and drank very fast, oops! He couldn't take it in.He ran into the closet and puked everything out.Meanwhile, Ben just stood there enjoying the drama her boss was performing, she regretted not coming in with her phone.
A video record of his reactions would have been something funny to watch everyday. He got out of the closet, banging the door angrily."What was what?" He asked fuming with anger, Ben tried to suppress her laughter.
"Coffee sir." She replied innocently.
"Coffee or Poison? Do you realize I could get diabetes from drinking that poison you call coffee?" He pointed at the cup on the table, his handsome face wore a weary look. He was so mad and that was exactly what Ben wanted. She smirked inside of her, praising herself for a job well done.
"How was I to know you don't take sugar?" She continued playing the innocent girl.
"Are you dumb? Even if I was a sugar addict! Would I take that much sugar?" He looked at her fiercely.
"I don't know sir." she bowed her head and grinned secretly.
"Ya Allah." He looked up.
"Sir, today's coffee won't give you diabetes and suddenly, she started laughing.
"You looked so funny when you ran into the closet." He should have known better when she was smiling, he should have known she was up to something bad."You did that intentionally right?"
"Aye Captain." She saluted him mockingly and laughed again. "I worked so hard to get a first class degree in school, and you come to tell me my degree doesn't make me smart. I had to prove to you that you don't vindicate people just like that and I hope this serves as a lesson to your pompous ass."
"Do you realize I'm the director of this company? I could get you sacked! I could write a query to the government telling them you're a threat to my company!" He fired at her.
"Pls do. To start with, I never wanted to work here I don't know why I was posted here in the first place. You can go ahead and do whatever that's on your head. I don't care!" She looked at him and walked out of the office, she stopped by the door and looked back at him smirking she said to him. "Enjoy your coffee sir." She closed the door and did a victory dance. "I might get sacked any moment from now." She danced again, then she remembered she had to call Esther, her partner in crime.
"Bes, you needed to see his face when he drank the coffee." Ben started.
"What coffee?" Esther asked.
"The best coffee I made for him." She laughed.
"What did you do Ben?" Esther was worried, she knew what Ben could do.
"I gave him a dosage of his own medicine,
I poured an half pack of sugar in his coffee and it was sweet.""What? Ben! That was too much!" Esther scolded.
"He said I'm not smart, I had to teach him a lesson." She told Esther.
"Well bad for him, he shouldn't have messed with my bestie." Esther said.
"Now, I love you." Ben laughed, glad she had her best friend's support.
"But Ben, do you know something?" Esther asked.
"What's that?" She asked curiously.
"You're actually dumb." Esther laughed, she knew what was coming for her.
"Hadassah!" Ben yelled. "I will call you back when I get home though." She ended the call and looked towards the director's office, she smiled and started to type on the keyboard.

Star❤Three months since she joined ABDULLAH HOLDINGS, and exactly four months she got to Kano. She smiled just like yesterday when she got to Kano she doubted if she would survive but here she was surviving beyond her expectations.Kano has been nothing but good to her, she played with her tresses and spun around on the chair happily. Ben was about to start typing on the computer when a lady walked into the office clanging her heels against the marbled floor. She looked tall, the 6 inches heels she wore supported her heights, she was fair but Ben was fairer, she looked pretty from the excess make up on her face, she wasn't fat nor slim she was in between with the right size of breasts for a lady and a good size of derriere She wore a black gown that hugged her curves tightly and completed it with a pink hijab, the only clothing on her that would make people convinced she was a Muslim."Orisirisi (differ
Her feet were now hurting from the walking exercises she's been performing with her boss since morning. She grumbled as her stomach rumbled, not eating the previous night was a really a bad decision to make, She regretted not eating before leaving the office too.Everything on her mind was how to get to lunch after the stressful inspection activities she was doing with her boss, they swerved down the quiet streets checking the houses out.The company houses suited in a newly developed area of the town, the ones built down to be leased out in future."How many houses are in this Estate?" Roshan asked the contractor in charge of building the Estate."We have about thirty five incomplete buildings sir." He replied. "Twenty have been completed already, and the remaining are under construction as you can see sir." He moved over to the edge of the plank placed on one of the uncompleted buildi
"Bestie!" Ben yelled excitedly, she was in a real good mood."What's up Bes?" Esther asked from the other end."So tell me about the new guy in your apartment, I was sleepy last night." Esther had called her the previous night and as usual, they were gisting and talking about everything that happened during the week but Ben was sleepy and she had doze off while Esther talked."Ain't you at work?" Esther questioned."Of course I am, wait let me switch the call to video call." She did and squealed when she saw Esther. "Oh my baby, you glow, glow girl!" "Don't flatter me." Esther blushed."I'm not, I'm being serious now." She grinned. "So tell me about him.""First, he's cute." Esther started."Checked!" Ben raised a thumb to praise Esther."His name is David, he studied medicine at Obafemi Awo
"I have to submit this letter today but I need your signature first." She told him, not interested in whatever he was busy with."Which letter?" He questioned, wriggling his eyebrows in confusion, he didn't remember telling her to prepare a letter for anything."My resignation letter." She retorted, she loathed standing there in his office and exchanging words with him, he was a boring human and she was a loud one. They always contradicted each other just like fire and water."You want to resign?" He asked shockingly, the news was new to him and he wondered what was wrong."Yes, I want to." She said not sparing him a glance."Why?" He asked calmly, starting intently at her."I'm tired of working here, you do not appreciate the things I do and you complain too much about me. I can't deal anymore." She was really tired of his complaints, she looked away from and her fac
He walked into the office and she didn't bother to greet him, that was the third day she had ignored him like he didn't exist on the planet earth. He wasn't willing to talk to her either, so he just let her be. They didn't have a cordial relationship to begin with. The meeting with the members of Josiah's company would be taking much of his time today, so he asked her to cancel every other meetings with other clients. The contract was too huge to be lost and the fate of the company winning the contract would be decided today. He got into his office and said a brief prayer before starting with the day's work,They've bid for the contract alongside other big Companies and Roshan feared the competitors would win it over."The clients are here." Ben informed him through the phone."Let them in." He said and she ushered them into his office immediately she ended the call.
As she walked into the restaurant, she took in the information she needed to know about the place in case anything went wrong. She didn't feel safe around the vicinity. She hated secret meetings particularly the ones that involved someone her boss didn't want to have anything with.As she walked towards the bar, she thought of what would happen if Roshan saw her with Saheed but she still needed to know what was going on between those two.She called the number again and informed him she was waiting for him, he directed her to the VIP section. She met him seating alone, sipping in a bottle of Hennessey and a stick of cigarette that wasn't lit was in his hand. So, he smokes? She didn't sit very close to him, but there was a little proximity between them."Good evening." She greeted him."Evening beautiful."
"Do you know how much I want you?" The man on the television screen said to the lady that sat close to him."Must you always bring up the topic?" She asked, clearly annoyed."I really can't live without you, please give me a chance." He begged. Meanwhile, the lady picked up her bag and stormed out of the room, he went after her pleading as he made each step."What's wrong with the girl sef?" Ben hissed and changed the channel. "Movie wey no get head. (A meaningless movie.)" She scrolled through the list of channels and finally settled for Natgeo wild, a channel that showed the documentary of animals. It was better than the movie she was seeing before.Beep, beep. Her phone began to beep, she picked it to check the caller. It was Esther, been a while she heard from her, she quickly picked up."Ben." Esther began."You abi? (You right?)" She was mad
Jamil invited Roshan and Ben over for his thirtieth birthday dinner, the two arrived at different time Ben being the late one, she wore a dinner gown that was black in color, fitting perfectly into her fair skin, the gown stopped at her feet and had a knee cut. She wore a 3 inches heel, she didn't need something taller, she was tall enough.Walking into the dinner hall, she became the cynosure of all eyes. She looked really beautiful, her fair skin glowing."Hello celebrant." She swerved towards where Jamil was standing with his wife." "Happy birthday Mr Jamil." She gave him a neatly wrapped present. "Good day ma'am, you look so beautiful." She complimented his wife, who wore a red abaya with a black turban tied over her head."So, do you." She smiled at Ben."Thank you so much Ben." Jamil thanked her. "My love, meet Ben Roshan's new secretary." He introduced them."I suppose, she's your wife." Ben smiled at her."Sure." Jamil nodded."Nice meeting you." Been stretched her hand out fo
