meeting her for the first time

4:00 A.M:

Turning off the alarm, Eddy jumped off the bed. He slipped his legs onto the sweatpants and pulled the t-shirt over his head. He took the shoes from the rack and plonked on the stool nearby the door wearing it. He then strolled out of his home putting on the headphones and turning on the music.

During a fresh early morning, Eddy ran with full enthusiasm in an empty peaceful road, which he always admired the most. He never allowed any of his friends to join him as he had the habit of enjoying his own company during that hour.

Like any other day going a little further he changed direction and ran towards the woods. He ran and ran until he got to the lake. He sat on the grass panting and pulled down the headphones to his neck in order to enjoy the melodies song of birds sang around the lake.

Pressing his hands against the ground and leaning his body on them, he glanced at the dark woods at the distance on the other side of the lake. As usual, he began to wonder what might be inside the woods.

The curiosity inside him increased like any other time and he had an urge to go there. He darted his eyes around to see if there was any bridge but there was none.

Losing his hope Eddy once again glanced back at the woods. Suddenly he saw a figure of a wolf running out of the woods.

He was not sure what he was seeing, so he rubbed his eyes and glanced again. This time it was not a wolf, it was a figure of a person instead. The person glanced at the back and then suddenly jumped into the lake.

Eddy stood on his feet in shock. He had no idea what was going on. When he glanced back at the woods, he saw a group of people coming out of the woods and glancing at the person who was swimming to his side of the lake.

When the person reached the shore, Eddy rushed towards her and extended his hand to pull her out. When he successfully pulled her out, he was about to turn back to check on the people behind her but she clutched his wrist and dragged him with her.

Eddy kept on running not knowing why he was running with her, but he too didn’t want to stop and ask her about it. They ran and ran until the dusk was converted into a sunny day.

Only then she halted and looking back she said, "they must be gone by now."

Crouching his body Eddy was panting. He had never run at that speed before. His whole body was soaked with sweat and he was still not able to catch his breath.

Patted his arms, the person said, "Hey! Thanks for saving me. Are you alright?"

Eddy gestured one second showing his index finger. When he was finally able to take his breath, he stood up and glanced at the person which launched him to another unknown world for a second. Her beauty was hard to put into words.

Big Ocean Blue eyes with long eyelashes followed by dark, soft angled eyebrows, bow-shaped lips, and straight nose she had with fair complexion. Her blond curly hair was swinging till her arms and she had an amazing height.  She was truly so charming.

Both of them were not able to take their eyes off of each other and were getting lost in them. Both were admiring the soothing sensation which they were getting from each other.

"Hey! What the hell man? Get out of the way!" The yell of a driver followed by a loud horn made them both flinch and broke the eye contact. Hastily both moved aside, letting the car pass through, and began to walk.

Eddy who had a huge pile of questions a while ago wanted to speak out but was not able to say anything. When he was having a war inside him about how to break the silence suddenly she questioned, "What were you doing near the dark woods?"

"Um… Nothing, I was just wandering around," replied Eddy trying to hide the nervousness inside him.

"Impressive!” she said scanning him head to toe.

“Excuse me!” Eddy was not able to get what she meant.

“You must be a person with a strong heart who has the guts of wandering alone there," she said, withdrawing her gaze towards the road.

"What do you mean?" Eddy questioned with full surprise.

"Nothing!" she replied instantly.

"What were you doing there?" inquired Eddy trying to keep the conversation going.

"I live behind that black woods," she replied, trying to match her footsteps with him.

Eddy suddenly halted and turned towards her, questioning, “there is a place behind that woods?”

“Uhuh! The Green Woods,” she replied nodding her head.

Eddy chuckled and said, "You must be kidding me! Dark Woods, Green Woods, Purple Woods."

“No, I am not kidding. There is no Purple Woods but there is Green Woods where we…” suddenly she paused.

“Where we, what?” Eddy raised his eyebrows.

“Where we live, I mean me and my family,” she said in one breath.

“Everyone lives with their family,” said Eddy and resumed walking.

“What is your name?” she questioned standing at the same spot.

"Eddy!" He replied and didn't bother to ask her name.

He increased his pace instead, as he thought that the girl might go on bluffing around if he questioned her anything further.

When he reached his home he stopped and turning back he said, “I have… reached…” He was surprised not seeing her behind him. He looked around but didn't find her anywhere. She just disappeared leaving him in big shock.

‘When did she leave?’

"Where did she vanish all of a sudden?" he mumbled, spinning around in astonishment.

"Ed, what are you searching for? Did you lose anything? Ain't you getting late for your work?" Eva called out glancing at him from the window.

Eddy flinched with the sudden voice of his sister Eva. He then suddenly remembered that he had a very important business meeting to attend and his preparation was only halfway. So, he rushed inside the house hastily.
