The sterile scent of disinfectants hit me first, the sharp, almost nauseating smell that clung to every surface of the luxurious hospital corridor. It was nothing like the regular hospitals I’d ever seen or visited. This one had a quiet elegance, like a five-star hotel for the dying…marble floors, golden trims, smooth white walls, and soft classical music humming low from hidden speakers.
