🦋 BENITA 🦋

I wept uncontrollably for days, unable to bear the sight of myself. I felt like I was losing my identity, my sense of self shattered by the changes that had been made to my body. I longed for the familiarity of my old face, the comfort of being myself.

But it was gone, replaced by this... this strange, scary look. A new me that I didn't recognise, didn't want.

I picked up a scissors on the nurse's tray, and pointed it towards my neck, It was the end for me; every single thing happening was driving me crazy.

I had to lose my pride, confidence, self-esteem, virginity, dignity and now my face — everything single thing was taken away from me. I could as well take my life before they take that too.

Nurses surrounded me and I was pinned down, I struggled, screaming and crying for them to just leave me the hell alone.

Just then, Felix rushed in, he reached out, and his hands gently cupped my face. The warmth of his palms seeped into my skin, and I felt a wave of calm was

🦋 FELIX 🦋I watched in horror as Benita stood at the river's edge, her eyes fixed on the water below. “Stop the car!” I screamed at my driver, kicked the door open, and rushed out of the car even before the car stopped moving, falling to the ground and injuring my knees in the process, but who cares?Without hesitation, Benita took a deep breath and jumped, her body slicing into the river's surface. I screamed her name. With bleeding knees, I sprinted towards her, my heart racing with fear.“Benita, Don't!” I cried, but she didn't resurface. Panic set in as I realised what was happening. I attempted to plunge into the water, desperation driving me to reach her, but my men held me down. “No, no, no,” I screamed. It was not the end of the world, but it was the end of my world. “Get her out of there!”Just then, the sound of sirens filled the area, and policemen held me down to stop me from jumping into the water.“You see, the person who just jumped in there is my wife,” I explained

  • YOU WILL NEVER BE MY GOD, FELIX.   CHAPTER 34 — I HAD A LOT OF QUESTIONS.

🦋 FELIX 🦋After hours of waiting, I couldn't tell if Benita had been released or not. Rose didn't call to confirm it, and I was unable to reach her either.Countless calls from different locations came in, and we attended to them all.“You set up a bounty; they could be lying for the money,” The police officer pointed out.“I don't care,” I retorted, “Send my men to confirm every location for a sign of Benita.”My mind was racing, thoughts spinning in every direction. I felt like I was on edge, my nerves stretched taut like a rubber band about to snap. Every little thing seemed to set me off, making my heart skip a beat and my palms sweaty.I couldn't shake the feeling of uncertainty, like I was walking on thin ice, not knowing when it would crack beneath me. My thoughts were consumed by worst-case scenarios, my imagination running wild with all the things that could go wrong.I felt restless, like I was trapped in my own skin, unable to escape the anxious thoughts that plagued me.

🦋 FELIX 🦋My lips trembled, “I'll divorce her,” I repeated, “So please let her go.”“Very well,” Rose responded happily, “When I confirm the divorce, I'll let her go. Also, I'll send you a location, leave the papers there and leave. Don't try anything stupid, I could kill her immediately.”The call ended, but I felt like it was my life that ended as I collapsed to the ground.“You have nothing to be worried about,” Greg assured. “As long as she's alive, you could remarry her.”“We will get Rose, and you both would be free to start afresh,” the policeman added, “For now, let's focus on keeping Mrs Benita safe.”“Right,” I whispered to myself, “As long as she's alive, Rose will pay for this and we will be together again.”“Get a hold of my lawyer,” I commanded, “I want the divorce agreement arranged immediately.”Greg nodded and left, and after a while, he returned with the divorce agreement.I signed the papers with only one thing in mind: “I'll get married to you again, Benita, just

🦋 BENITA 🦋My happiness is always short-lived; one moment I'm happy, the other moment, I'm traumatised.Rose walked into the room. Laughing out loud in satisfaction like she won a Grammy.“You know what just happened?” She asked, gawking at me, “I just played Felix, he really is so desperate to find you.”“Why are you doing this?” I murmured, “Please let me go.”“I loved him first, but he never gave me a chance,” Rose snapped, “But a lowly thing like you? You don't deserve it. You don't deserve to be with my Felix. Why can't I have anything I want? Even my family is a mess. You have everything you don't deserve. I'm going to take them away from you.”“My life was never easy, Rose, everything has been taken away from me,” I retorted, “You took my face away from me, if you take away Felix, then I might really lose my mind.”“Am I supposed to care about you losing your mind?” She snapped back.I inhaled sharply, “Can I ask you a question?”“Sure, you only have now to talk, because you

🦋 FELIX 🦋I paced around the station, my men were out searching, the media was also trying their best, but I couldn't help but worry.“You sure she's going to call?” The police officer asked.“Kidnapper always calls to name their price,” I responded, assured. “I'm sure she will call soon.”Just then, my phone began to ring with a private number displaying on the screen. I signalled the police, “I think she's calling.”I picked up the call on the second ring. “Hello?” My voice echoed at the other end of the call.“I see you made a public announcement of who you truly married,” an elderly man's voice rang out, “That was unexpected, for you to risk everything for this brat.”“Rose, I know it's you,” I blurted out, “I've known you since we were little, I know what you are capable of.”The other person at the end of the call remained mute for a while and then responded, “Exactly, you have known me for years, so why choose someone you just met a few years ago over me? I loved you.”“Plea

🦋 FELIX 🦋 The room was electrified, filled with shock and curiosity. My grandmother gawked at me, sending me a threatening glance. The room erupted into an uproar of activity, with reporters rushing to file their stories and cameras capturing every shot, just the reaction I expected. Reporters love gossip, and for an exclusive interview… they'd do anything.”“Somebody stop him!” My grandmother yelled, but everyone, including the bodyguards, was rooted to the spot. Why? Because they are mine, my grandmother’s bodyguard wasn't allowed entry, and she didn't even notice that. Ignoring her display, I went on with the announcement.“Three years ago, I got married to Benita James. Her face was hidden in a veil. She was supposed to be the substitute, but I paid Rose to leave and legally married her instead. I had to pretend it was Rose Fred because my grandmother wanted it, so I deceived the media.”“Now she's missing, Rose Fred kidnapped my wife, Benita James, and she's about to take her
