Epilogue

Three months later

I opened my eyes, closed them to be sure I wasn't dreaming, then opened them again.

It wasn't a dream. Kaitlyn was sitting next to me on the bed, a wide smile spread across her beautiful, ever glowing face.

"Happy birthday baby boy," Kaitlyn said, the smile on her face bubbled into laughter.

"Happy birthday daddy," Kris' face appeared next, balloons in one hand, countless chocolate bars in the other.

My eyes shone in surprise when I saw the beautiful decorations and arrangements on the bed. My pictures were scattered all over our bedroom, balloons teasing the walls, sparkling lights and ribbons tied to every edge in our bedroom. It was one of the most beautiful things I had ever seen.

When had they done all this without my awareness?

Was I under sedation or something?

"It's my... it's my birthday..." I murmured, scratching my hair.
