Since it is pre-rush hour, the roads are still not very busy. Twenty minutes later, they arrived at the underground parking of the shopping complex.

Bayside Shopping Center is the best shopping mall located in the suburbs of Laverna. It's large and newly built. It has 3 floors and a big underground parking. There is usually a great rush of shoppers there. Even people from distant towns are coming to visit the place.

The layout of the mall is very impressive. It is spacious and well lighted up. On the third floor is a big leisure complex where restaurants are located.

Mary loves pasta so they head straight to The Olive Garden. It is the most exquisite place to eat and is truly the finest Italian restaurant in town.

Gwyneth glance around and see the dining tables are strategically set as if the queen were to be expected. White flowers with silver sparkles adorn the tables to add a final touch.

The windows that surround the tables present an open feeling, almost as if eating outside. Gwyneth gasped at the view. There is the magnificent sight of the early sunset beaming over the horizon. The orange sky is dotted with fluffy white clouds that drifted lazily in the gentle breeze. The afternoon sun bathed the buildings in its warm light. She looked at Mary to express her approval. "It's perfect."

Mary only gave her a satisfied look. She reached out for the menu and asked, " Is there anything you fancy?" "I'm going to the powder room. I'll leave it to you." Gwen smiled and then excused herself.

She dialed Nick's number expectantly. But to her dismay, a female mechanical voice emerged "The number you have dialed is either unattended or out of coverage area. Please try your call later."

Gwyneth tried to calm herself down. She looked at her reflection in the mirror and suppressed the irritation that is building up in her heart. "What have you been doing all day?" she mumbled to herself. She had a foreboding that she tried so hard to dismiss yet failed. Feeling frustrated, she washed her face. Then she reached out for the tissue on the side to dry her face. She re-applied her lipstick before stepping out.

The dishes that Mary ordered were already served when Gwyneth return to her seat. Mary complained "What took you so long?" Gwyneth just shrugged her shoulder. When she breath in the aroma of the Italian food, she was reminded of how hungry she is. "Let's dig in." she urged Mary.

"Where do you want to go next?" Shopping? Movie?" Mary asked cheekily. Gwyneth giggled at her eagerness. "We can do both."

"Okay, it's settled then."

They went to the second floor after the meal. You can find shops and boutiques of famous brands there. They took their turns in the fitting room trying to check some clothes. Gwyneth was able to find two dresses while Mary had five. Gwyneth rolled her eyes on Mary but the latter just laughed.

"Hey, how about we go buy a coffee before we go home?" Mary suggested and they turned on a corner where not a lot of people are walking.

Gwyneth had to stop from her track once her eyes landed on a familiar figure not far away. Nick is smiling at some girl, their hands intertwined. "So he's on a date all this time?" Her heart stopped beating for a second. It felt like her lungs stopped functioning and she can't breathe.

Mary looked at her friend worriedly. Meanwhile, Nick's gaze landed on them, the shock looked evident on his face. Gwen looked at Mary and smiled at her. "Let's go?" She pulled her by the arms as they move forward.

They have almost passed the cheating couple when Gwyneth felt Nick grabbed her arm and she had to stop for a moment.

"Gwen, let me explain." he whispered. She stared at him, her eyes are not showing any emotion. Then she released his hands on her arm "You must be mistaken, mister." And then she walked forward, away from them. Away from her heart breaking into pieces.

A tear escaped Gwyneth's eyes as she walks forward, not even minding the continuous attempt of Mary to get her attention, forgetting everything behind.

In the blink of an eye, three days has passed Gwyneth sat at her desk in her classroom, leaning back in her chair with her eyes closed. She had another ten minutes until class was supposed to start and the students weren't there yet. She had a weird feeling ever since she woke up this morning. She's not sure what it was but she suspects that it has something to do with Gino Perez, her "ghost students". She had asked his classmates these past two days if they knew where he was but none of them had answer to that question. She heard the door opening and quickly readjusted her posture on her chair. She looked up and saw Faith and Christine, two of her best students, walk in. "Good morning, Miss." They both greeted her and Gwyneth smiled back at them. "Good morning, girls."More students started to fill in and Gwyneth was impatiently waiting for the boy to show up. When it was only one minute until the class supposed to begin, his seat was still empty. Nervously tapping her pen on the ta

"Welcome to Holy Trinity Academy, Miss Sarmiento." Gwyneth smiled back at Mrs. Dimaano before greeting her back. "It's my pleasure to be here ma'am. I know it's my first time, but I'll try to do my best." Gwyneth stood up from the chair opposite Mrs. Dimaano and shook her hand. "If you have any question or if you encounter any difficulty, don't hesitate to approach me." Gwyneth thanked her one last time before walking out of her office. She closed the door and walked past the guidance office to get to the faculty room. There were a few teachers chatting, some are sitting in front of their computers, while some are eating snacks. "You must be Miss Sarmiento. I'm Katrina Victorino, Literature teacher. I hope you enjoy your first day at Holy Trinity." A brown-haired woman who looks around the same age as me greeted me with a warm smile. "Gwyneth Sarmiento. You must be the homeroom teacher of the senior class. Mrs. Dimaano told me to look for you.""Oh, yes. That's right. I totally forgo

Sleeping peacefully in her bed, Gwyneth was cradling a pillow to her chest. The sun was beaming through her blinds causing the woman to stir. Usually, waking up was a simple task to Gwyneth. She is a morning person after all. She groaned when the first beam of sunlight hit her face. Picking up the alarm clock on her nightstand, Gwyneth looked at the time. "Ugh, why is it so early?" she placed the clock back on the surface and slowly began to sit up. She put her hand to her head which was throbbing. " Nothing a little Aspirin can't handle." Crawling out of her warm bed, she walked to her bathroom and took out two pills, pouring tap water into her rinse cup. Once she took her medicine, she jumped into a warm shower. It was very pleasant to feel the drops of water fell on every part of her body, and the fragrance of the fabulous shower gel that is made of unique flowers filled the bathroom which made her clear her thoughts while she was thinking about how she's going to spend the rest

Gwyneth drove her car that night. far, far away from Laverna. She didn't want to see or hear anyone she knew. She's already aware of the "I told you so" and the "See, I could tell he wasn't that into you" coming from her friends and family. Tonight, she rather not hear any of it. After driving down to the beach several miles away, she sat quietly inside her car thinking to herself whether or not she should walk into the ocean and never return. Misery had set in deep for her. While thinking this over, her cellphone rang. It was Mary. She thought for a moment if she should answer it. "Fine." She said to herself and answered the phone in a weary tone. "Hey, where are you? Please don't tell me you're planning on doing something stupid." Gwyneth smiled after hearing her tough, yet soothing voice. "Is that what you think of me?" Gwyneth said in anger. "What do you care anyway? You were the one that said he wasn't that into me anyway. Aren't you happy that I am no longer with him?"There
